Vijay Sales' published payment FAQ lists three ways to pay online: credit card, debit card and net banking. UPI is not among them anywhere in 128KB of terms.
That is what the retailer has written down rather than a guarantee about today's checkout, and the page says so. But four other clauses in the same document are firmer and cost real money: a Rs. 50,000 cash-on-delivery ceiling, refunds quoted at up to 20 working days, a pricing-error rule that lets Vijay Sales cancel a mispriced order, and the line about when a parcel stops being its problem.

📅 Update log:
7 Sep 2026 — first published. Every rule here was read from vijaysales.com/faqs on 7 September 2026 as served to a logged-out visitor in India, with nothing purchased and no order placed. Vijay Sales can change these terms without notice, so we re-read the page and log what has changed here.
Cards and net banking only — UPI is not in the published list
Vijay Sales' own payment FAQ, as published on 7 September 2026, names three ways to pay online: credit cards, debit cards and net banking. Its exact words are that these are the methods “presently” available and that “as and when other methods will be incorporated, the same would be updated here”.
UPI does not appear anywhere in the document, and neither do wallets. That is worth flagging plainly rather than dressing up, because UPI is how a great many people in India now pay for everything.
The honest qualification, and please read it before you plan around this: a terms page is not a live checkout. Retailers update payment options faster than they update their FAQs, and Vijay Sales' own site advertises “easy EMIs” that this FAQ never explains — so the published list is already incomplete on its own site's terms. What we can tell you is what Vijay Sales has written down. What you should do is put one item in the cart and look at the payment page before assuming your usual method will be there.
| Method | In the FAQ | Conditions Vijay Sales states | Extra step |
|---|
| Credit card | Yes | VISA and MasterCard, Indian cards only | 3-digit CVV plus a bank password (VBV / MasterCard SecureCode) |
| Debit card | Yes | VISA and MasterCard, Indian cards only | Same extra authentication step |
| Net banking | Yes | Listed as an accepted method | Your bank's own login |
| Cash on delivery | Limited | Mumbai, Pune, Gujarat and Delhi only; max Rs. 50,000 per transaction | Cash collected 11am–6pm at the billing address |
| International cards | No | Not supported; orders with an international billing address may be cancelled | — |
| UPI, wallets | Not listed | Absent from the published payment FAQ; see the note below | — |
Cash on delivery stops at Rs. 50,000 and at four states
COD exists, but it is narrower than most people expect. Vijay Sales states it is available in Mumbai, Pune, Gujarat and Delhi “where our stores are located” only, and that it is valid for a maximum of Rs. 50,000 per transaction.
The mechanics are specific. Only products showing a COD icon on the product page qualify. The full booked amount is collected before delivery, by Vijay Sales' own authorised collection personnel, who issue an official receipt. Collection happens only between 11:00 am and 6:00 pm, and at the billing address you gave when booking — not wherever you happen to be.
Two practical consequences. A large television or a premium laptop will often exceed Rs. 50,000, which puts the biggest purchases — exactly the ones people most want to pay for on receipt — outside COD entirely. And the 11-to-6 window at a billing address is a weekday-daytime arrangement, so if the address is a home nobody is at during office hours, someone has to be there for the cash handover.
₹ Why we quote the FAQ rather than paraphrasing it. Payment and refund terms are the part of a retail policy most likely to be summarised into something wrong. Everything on this page is Vijay Sales' own published wording from vijaysales.com/faqs on 7 September 2026, with our explanation kept separate from its text. Terms change without notice and the version live when you order is the one that governs your order.
A wrong price will not be honoured
Vijay Sales makes a clean promise about prices in one section and takes part of it back in another, and both are worth knowing. The promise: “All offer prices on Vijaysales.com are all inclusive; there are no hidden charges whatsoever.” You pay the number next to the product image.
The other section is headed Pricing/Typographical error. It says prices may vary because of a technical issue, a typographical error or product information received from suppliers, that the price taken into consideration is the one at order confirmation and payment — and that if Vijay Sales finds such a difference, it “has all the rights to rectify the same or cancel the order”.
So if a Rs. 60,000 television briefly shows at Rs. 6,000 and you buy it, the order can be cancelled rather than fulfilled. This is an ordinary and lawful term that most large retailers carry in some form, and we allege nothing improper — a genuine keying error is not an offer anyone intended to make. It simply means the screenshot-and-hope tactic that circulates whenever a price glitch goes viral has no purchase here. What the FAQ does not do is state a refund timeline for an order cancelled this way, which matters if you have already paid.
| Situation | Refund window Vijay Sales states | What the FAQ says |
|---|
| Part-paid or fully paid order you cancel | 7–20 working days | Refund initiated “on priority”, credited “as per bank terms” |
| Order Vijay Sales cancels over a pricing error | Not stated | The FAQ gives VS the right to cancel but sets no refund window for it |
| Failed payment where money left your account | Not stated | No self-serve process; the FAQ directs you to phone or email |
Refunds take 7 to 20 working days
Vijay Sales runs a part-payment scheme it calls prepaid booking: you reserve an item with a small advance and pay the balance before delivery. Its own worked example is a Rs. 10,000 product booked with Rs. 2,000, with the remaining Rs. 8,000 due before it arrives. It states plainly that it cannot deliver without full payment confirmed.
If you then cancel — whether you had part-paid or paid in full — the FAQ says the refund is initiated on a priority basis and “will be credited in working 7-20 days as per bank terms”.
Read that as up to four calendar weeks, because 20 working days is a month once weekends and holidays are counted. That is the number to plan around before you put an advance on something you are not certain about. It is not unusual for Indian retail and nothing improper is alleged, but it is a long time for your money to be somewhere else, and it is the strongest argument on this page for paying once, at the end, on a card that gives you a dispute route.
The two rules nobody reads: card liability and risk of loss
On cards. The FAQ requires you to use your own card, states that Vijay Sales “will not be liable for any credit card fraud”, and says the liability for fraudulent use sits with the user with “the onus to prove otherwise… exclusively on the user”. It also reserves the right to cancel any order placed with a card holding an international billing address. If you are buying from abroad for family in India, use an Indian card and an Indian billing address.
On risk of loss. This is the one to read twice. Purchases are made “pursuant to a shipment contract”, which the FAQ spells out: risk of loss and title pass to you when Vijay Sales delivers the item to the carrier — not when it reaches your door. On its face, that means goods damaged or lost in transit are the buyer's problem rather than the seller's.
We are describing a published term, not giving legal advice, and we allege no wrongdoing — shipment-contract clauses are standard across Indian and international e-commerce, and a consumer's statutory rights are not extinguished by a website's terms. The practical takeaway is behavioural rather than legal: open and inspect the box while the delivery person is still there, and report any damage immediately through the channels in Vijay Sales' delivery and returns policy, which is where a transit-damage claim actually gets resolved.
💡 Every card payment needs a second password. The FAQ explains that since 1 August 2010 the Reserve Bank of India has required an extra authentication step on card transactions — Verified by VISA or MasterCard SecureCode. That is the password or one-time code your bank asks for after the card number and CVV, and each bank registers you for it its own way. If a card payment fails at that stage it is usually your bank's authentication and not the shop's checkout, which is worth knowing before you spend an evening retrying the same card.
How this page was read, and what it does not tell you
Every rule on this page was read from vijaysales.com/faqs on 7 September 2026 as served to a logged-out visitor in India. Nothing was purchased, no order was placed and no account was used; no Vijay Sales staff were contacted. The quotations are Vijay Sales' own published wording, reproduced as written, including its typographical errors where they appear inside quotation marks; the grouping, the tables and all explanation around them are ours. The sections used were Acceptable Methods of Payment, Cash On Delivery, Prepaid Orders, Pre Orders, Credit Card Use, Verified By VISA and MasterCard Secure Code, Payment Errors/Transaction Failure, Pricing, Pricing/Typographical error, and Risk of loss.
What that means for what you can conclude. A published FAQ describes what a retailer has written down, not necessarily what its live checkout does today: retailers commonly add payment methods without updating their terms pages, and Vijay Sales' own site advertises EMI options that this FAQ does not describe, so the absence of UPI and wallets from the document is not evidence that they are unavailable at checkout. Terms change without notice and the version in force when you place your order is the one that governs it, along with anything shown at your checkout, which prevails over anything here. Store-specific practices, city-level serviceability, promotional payment offers, bank card discounts and no-cost EMI arrangements are not covered by these sections and can change what you pay and how you may pay it. Nothing on this page is legal advice, and nothing here is an opinion on the enforceability of any clause: statutory consumer rights in India exist independently of a website's terms, and a term printed in an FAQ is not a determination of what a court or consumer forum would hold. No wrongdoing by Vijay Sales is alleged or implied — every clause described here is common in Indian and international e-commerce. We have not tested any refund, cancellation or claim process, and nothing here is a judgement of Vijay Sales' service, delivery, pricing or after-sales support.
What to do with this before you order
Check the payment page before you plan the payment. The published list is cards and net banking; UPI is not in it. Put one item in the cart and look, rather than getting to checkout with only a UPI app on your phone.
If the order is over Rs. 50,000, COD is not an option. That is the stated per-transaction cap, and COD only runs in Mumbai, Pune, Gujarat and Delhi in any case, with cash collected between 11am and 6pm at your billing address.
Think twice about part-paying for something you might cancel. Vijay Sales states refunds land in 7 to 20 working days — up to about a month in real time. The pre-order rule runs the other way and in your favour: book before a launch and a later price rise does not apply to your order. And whatever you pay with, open the box in front of the delivery person, because risk of loss passes to you when the goods reach the carrier. The cancellation and installation rules and the loyalty points terms are the adjacent pages.
The short version
Vijay Sales' published payment FAQ, read on 7 September 2026, lists credit cards, debit cards and net banking — and no UPI or wallets anywhere in the document, though a terms page is not a live checkout and its own site advertises EMIs the FAQ never explains. Cards must be Indian; orders on cards with an international billing address may be cancelled. Cash on delivery is capped at Rs. 50,000 and runs only in Mumbai, Pune, Gujarat and Delhi, collected 11am to 6pm at your billing address.
Three clauses decide what happens when something goes wrong. A mispriced product can be rectified or the order cancelled, so a glitch price will not be honoured. Cancellation refunds are stated at 7 to 20 working days. And risk of loss passes to you when the goods reach the carrier, not your door — so inspect the box on arrival. The one clause that favours you: pre-order before a launch and a later price rise does not apply.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Vijay Sales accept UPI?
Its published payment FAQ does not list it. As read on 7 September 2026, the page names credit cards, debit cards and net banking as the methods “presently” available, adding that the list would be updated as others are incorporated, and UPI and wallets appear nowhere in the document. That is what Vijay Sales has published rather than proof of what its checkout does today — retailers routinely add payment methods without updating terms pages, and this same site advertises EMI options the FAQ never describes. Add one item to the cart and check the payment page before you rely on any particular method.
What is the Vijay Sales cash on delivery limit?
Rs. 50,000 per transaction, and it is geographically limited: the FAQ says COD is available in Mumbai, Pune, Gujarat and Delhi “where our stores are located” only. Only products displaying a COD icon on the product page qualify, the full booked amount is collected before delivery by Vijay Sales' authorised personnel against an official receipt, and collection happens only between 11:00 am and 6:00 pm at the billing address given during booking. Large televisions and premium laptops frequently exceed the cap, so the most expensive purchases are usually prepaid ones.
How long does a Vijay Sales refund take?
For an order you cancel after paying — whether part-paid under its prepaid booking scheme or paid in full — the FAQ states the refund is initiated on a priority basis and “will be credited in working 7-20 days as per bank terms”. Twenty working days is roughly a calendar month once weekends and holidays are counted, so plan for that rather than for a week. The FAQ does not state a refund window for orders Vijay Sales itself cancels because of a pricing error, nor for a failed payment where money has left your account; for those it directs customers to phone +91 8657773434 or email onlinesupport@vijaysales.com.
Will Vijay Sales honour a wrongly listed low price?
Its terms say it does not have to. The Pricing/Typographical error section states that prices may vary because of a technical issue, typographical error or supplier information, and that where Vijay Sales finds such a difference it “has all the rights to rectify the same or cancel the order”. So an order placed against an obvious glitch price can be cancelled instead of shipped. This is an ordinary term across large retailers and nothing improper is alleged. It sits alongside the FAQ's positive pricing promise, which is that displayed offer prices are all inclusive with “no hidden charges whatsoever”.
Who is responsible if my Vijay Sales order is damaged in transit?
The FAQ's Risk of loss section states that purchases are made pursuant to a shipment contract and that risk of loss and title pass to you when Vijay Sales delivers the items to the carrier — not on arrival at your address. Clauses like this are standard in Indian and international e-commerce and nothing improper is alleged, and note that statutory consumer rights exist independently of a website's terms; nothing here is legal advice. Practically, the useful response is the same either way: open and check the packaging while the delivery person is still present and raise any damage immediately, because a claim made at the doorstep is far easier than one made a week later.

Every rule described on this page was read from vijaysales.com/faqs on 7 September 2026, as served to a logged-out visitor in India, with nothing purchased, no order placed, no account used and no Vijay Sales staff contacted. Passages inside quotation marks are Vijay Sales' own published wording reproduced as written, including any typographical errors in the original; the grouping, tables, headings and all explanation around them are ours. A published terms page describes what a retailer has written down rather than what its live checkout necessarily does: retailers commonly add payment methods without updating their FAQs, and Vijay Sales' own site advertises EMI facilities that the FAQ sections read here do not describe, so the absence of UPI, wallets or any other method from the document is not evidence that it is unavailable at checkout, and we make no claim that it is. Terms can change without notice; the version in force when you place your order governs that order, and anything displayed at your checkout prevails over anything on this page. Store-level practices, city and pin-code serviceability, promotional payment offers, bank card discounts, no-cost EMI arrangements and product-specific conditions are outside the sections read here and can change both what you pay and how you are permitted to pay it. Nothing on this page is legal advice and nothing here expresses a view on whether any clause described would be enforceable: statutory consumer rights in India exist independently of a website's terms, and a term published in an FAQ is not a determination of what a court or consumer forum would hold. No wrongdoing by Vijay Sales (INDIA) Private Limited is alleged or implied — the clauses described here, including the pricing-error, shipment-contract and card-liability provisions, are common across Indian and international e-commerce. We have not tested any payment, cancellation, refund or claim process, and nothing here is a judgement of Vijay Sales' pricing, delivery, installation, warranty service or customer support. Zoutons may earn a commission if you buy through links on this page; it does not change what you pay, and nothing here was reviewed or approved by Vijay Sales or by any brand named.
