Vijay Sales Kitchen Appliances Under Rs. 3,000: September 2026 Prices

We read 131 kitchen appliance listings across eight Vijay Sales category pages on 3 September 2026. The number that stops you is the entry price on the air fryer shelf: Rs. 2,615.

The median mixer grinder on the same aisle is Rs. 6,318. The appliance that arrived in Indian kitchens as a premium, aspirational purchase now starts at under half the price of the aisle's standard blender — and cheaper than a good many sandwich makers.

It is not only the entry price. Air fryers carry a median 44% off, against 34% on mixer grinders and 30% on juicer mixer grinders, and five of the six deepest badges on the whole aisle are air fryers. This is what a category being cleared looks like in listing data.

Prices on this aisle run from Rs. 249, a Pigeon 400 ml hand chopper, to Rs. 25,800 at the top of the air fryer shelf. The median is Rs. 3,360.

Just under half the aisle — 62 listings — sits below Rs. 3,000, and 41 below Rs. 2,000. Under Rs. 1,000 there are 12 listings, and they are all choppers, kettles, hand blenders or a single sandwich griller. Under Rs. 3,000 the range opens up considerably: entry air fryers from three brands, mixer grinders from Rs. 1,199, pop-up toasters from Rs. 1,529.

The Rs. 3,000 line is a real boundary rather than a round number. Above it you are into Philips and Prestige mixer grinders, Ninja's blender range and the larger air fryers; below it the aisle is Lifelong, Pigeon, Wonderchef, KENT, Kenstar, Havells and Maharaja Whiteline.

Six listings on this aisle are discounted 67% or more. Five are air fryers; the sixth is a wireless chopper.

The shape is consistent. A Lifelong 4.2 L air fryer at Rs. 2,615 against a stated MRP of Rs. 10,999 (76%). Its detachable-handle sibling at Rs. 2,949 against Rs. 12,499 (76%). KENT's Digi Plus 4 L at Rs. 2,799 against Rs. 10,000 (72%) and its Classic at Rs. 2,649 against Rs. 8,000 (67%). Morphy Richards' 5 L at Rs. 5,099 against Rs. 15,999 (68%).

We cannot tell you whether those stated MRPs were ever live shelf prices — Vijay Sales publishes the number and we are reporting it. What the pattern does establish is that the air fryer shelf is the one where the stated MRP and the checkout price have come furthest apart, and that four different brands are doing it at once.

Group the same 131 listings by brand and the aisle sorts into two halves that behave very differently.

Lifelong runs a median 70% off across its five listings, KENT 54%, Kenstar 52%, Wonderchef 46%, Morphy Richards 44%, Bajaj 43%. At the other end, Ninja runs 14% across 13 listings at a median price of Rs. 10,999, Boss 21%, and Philips 24% across 20 listings — the largest brand presence on the aisle and one of the shallowest badges on it.

Neither group is doing anything improper; they are setting the stated MRP differently. But it does mean a 24% Philips badge and a 70% Lifelong badge are not comparable quantities, and the only figure that compares cleanly across the whole aisle is the rupee price. What separates a Rs. 2,615 air fryer from a Rs. 9,499 one — basket coating, fan design, warranty, how it behaves after a year — is not in the listing data, and we did not test any of these appliances.

If you have been putting off an air fryer, this is the shelf that moved. Entry price Rs. 2,615, median 44% off, and four brands clearing at once. Whether a Rs. 2,615 fryer lasts is a question the listing cannot answer, but the price barrier people remember from a few years ago is no longer there.

If you are buying a mixer grinder or a hand blender, the badge will not help you. Those two categories run 34% and 19% median discounts, and Philips, which dominates them with 20 listings, discounts at 24%. Compare wattage, jar count and price directly; there is no clearance to time.
