Two men's shirts sold on Tata CLiQ — a Thomas Scott striped slim fit and a WROGN checked shirt — arranged as a colour-block layout, on this page about Tata CLiQ men's shirt prices

Sixty of the 85 men's shirts we read on Tata CLiQ on 6 September 2026 are under Rs. 1,500, and 18 are under Rs. 1,000 — on a shelf of labels you would recognise in a mall.

The catch is the evidence. Only 49 of the 85 listings show a rating at all, and the median count behind those is four. Below: what each brand actually costs, why the dearest label carries the smallest badge, and which listings have enough ratings to be worth reading.

📅 Update log:
6 Sep 2026 — first published. All 85 listings were read from Tata CLiQ's own marketplace search on 6 September 2026 across two shirt queries, as served to a logged-out visitor in India, with nothing purchased. Only in-stock listings showing both a price and a stated MRP were kept, and every listing carries a distinct product code. Tata CLiQ re-ranks these results continuously and moves prices without notice, so we re-read the shelf and log what has changed here.

Sixty of 85 shirts are under Rs. 1,500 — and 18 under Rs. 1,000

We read 85 men's shirt listings from Tata CLiQ's own search on 6 September 2026, each with a price and a stated MRP above it. The shelf runs Rs. 549 to Rs. 3,199 at a median of Rs. 1,299 and a median 49% off, with 60 under Rs. 1,500 and 18 under Rs. 1,000.

The brands are the difference between this shelf and the marketplace shelves we read the same afternoon. Levi's, Arrow, U.S. Polo Assn., Louis Philippe, American Eagle, WROGN and Rare Rabbit account for a large share of the 85, and they are labels with high-street prices behind them rather than names that exist only on a marketplace. The floor is still low: an English Navy slim fit at Rs. 549, a Club York printed regular fit at Rs. 599, a Thomas Scott striped slim fit at Rs. 639.

It also means the median badge here — 49% — is roughly half what the same kind of read returns on AJIO's womenswear shelf, where the median was 73%. A shelf of recognisable brands cannot write list prices as freely.

The ratings exist. The median count is four.

This is the number that should change how you read the shelf. Of 85 listings, 49 carry a rating at all — and the median rating count among those 49 is four. Thirty-three of the 49 have fewer than ten ratings. Thirty-six listings have none whatsoever.

The best-evidenced shirt on the entire shelf is a U.S. Polo Assn. white regular fit at Rs. 1,494 with 187 ratings at 4.2. After that it drops fast: 144 ratings on a Thomas Scott, 79 on another U.S. Polo Assn., 40 on a Hancock, 36 on a Perch. A 5.0 average from two ratings appears repeatedly on this shelf, and it means nothing at all — two people is not a sample.

Set against what we read the same day, the contrast is stark: Myntra's activewear listings carry counts in the thousands (9,884 on a single track pant), while AJIO returned no rating at all on 192 listings. Tata CLiQ sits in between and the practical advice is the same as if it showed nothing: treat any average built on fewer than about 30 ratings as decoration, and buy on brand, fabric description and price.

Why a rating count matters more than the rating. A 5.0 from 2 ratings and a 4.2 from 187 are not comparable pieces of information: the first can be produced by two people having a good week, while the second has settled somewhere. Nine of the listings in this read show a perfect or near-perfect score on fewer than five ratings. None of that is anyone's fault — new listings start empty — but it does mean the sort-by-rating control on a shelf like this one mostly surfaces newness.

The dearest brand has the smallest discount

Group the shelf by brand and the badge lines up almost perfectly with price — backwards. American Eagle is the most expensive label here at a median Rs. 2,112 and carries the smallest median badge, 20%. Thomas Scott is the cheapest of the named brands at a median Rs. 749 and carries the largest, 76%, against stated MRPs of Rs. 2,999 to Rs. 4,299.

In between, the pattern holds: Levi's 42% at a median Rs. 1,712, U.S. Polo Assn. 40% at Rs. 1,434, Louis Philippe 40% at Rs. 1,649, Arrow 45% at Rs. 1,319, WROGN 55% at Rs. 1,156. The deeper the discount, the cheaper the shirt actually is — which is the opposite of how a discount is supposed to work as a signal, and the same shape we found on AJIO's dress shelf the same afternoon.

We are not suggesting any brand here is doing anything improper, and we cannot verify that any stated MRP was ever a live selling price. The usable conclusion is narrow and reliable: a 76% badge and a 20% badge on this shelf tell you which brand you are looking at, not which shirt is better value.

Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 1,500: where most of this shelf sits

The median shirt here is Rs. 1,299, and the Rs. 1,000–1,500 band is the thickest part of the shelf — WROGN, Arrow, U.S. Polo Assn. and Levi's all have listings in it, at badges between 33% and 55%.

This is the band where the brand-tier effect is most useful to you. A Levi's at Rs. 1,474 with a 42% badge and a WROGN at Rs. 1,143 with a 55% badge are both ordinary prices for those labels; the percentage difference between them is a fact about where each brand sets its list price, not a measure of which is the better buy. What separates them is fit, fabric and whether you want that label on the placket.

Above Rs. 2,000 the shelf is mostly American Eagle, Rare Rabbit and Louis Philippe, topping out at Rs. 3,199. Below Rs. 1,000 it is Thomas Scott, Club York, English Navy, Hancock and Bewakoof — and, as the table above shows, that is also where the rating counts run out entirely.

The deepest badges on the shelf, and what is behind them

The eight deepest discounts here run 68% to 79%, and six of the eight are Thomas Scott or Club York listings priced between Rs. 599 and Rs. 1,069 against stated MRPs of Rs. 2,499 to Rs. 4,299.

The single deepest is a Thomas Scott blue slim fit striped shirt at Rs. 639 against a stated Rs. 2,999 — 79% off. It is also, unusually for this end of the shelf, one of the better-evidenced listings on the page, with 144 ratings at 4.3. Most of its neighbours in this table carry no ratings at all.

So the honest summary of the bottom of this shelf: the prices are genuinely low, the percentages beside them are a function of list prices we cannot verify, and the customer evidence is mostly absent. If you are buying a Rs. 600 shirt, you are buying the photograph and the fabric line. Tata CLiQ's returns terms are what stand behind that decision, not the badge.

💡 Slim fit, regular fit and relaxed fit are the only sizing information most of these listings give you. On a shelf where the median listing has four ratings, there is no body of customer comment telling you a brand runs small — which is exactly the thing reviews are most useful for. Buying a size you already own in that brand is the safest route; otherwise the return window is doing the work.
How this page was read, and what it does not tell you

All 85 listings were read from Tata CLiQ's own marketplace search on 6 September 2026, as served to a logged-out visitor in India with nothing purchased and no account used, across two queries: men shirts and men casual shirt, two pages each. Every listing carries a distinct product code, so nothing here is double-counted across queries, and only listings marked in stock with both a selling price and a stated maximum retail price above that price were kept. Every price, maximum retail price, discount percentage, rating and rating count reproduced on this page is Tata CLiQ's own displayed figure, unadjusted; medians, counts, bands and the brand-level comparison are ours.

What that means for what you can conclude. Two search queries are not Tata CLiQ's full shirt catalogue, so nothing here is a claim about the cheapest shirt it sells, and results are ranked by Tata CLiQ's own relevance sort, which changes continuously — your pages will differ from ours. Prices move without notice; coupons, bank card offers, NeuCoins, cart-level promotions and delivery charges are not visible in listing data and can change what you pay in either direction, and the prices and terms shown at your checkout prevail over anything here. We cannot verify whether any stated maximum retail price was ever a live selling price and make no claim either way, and no wrongdoing by Tata CLiQ or by any brand named is alleged or implied; the brand comparison on this page describes list-price conventions rather than conduct. Ratings and rating counts are Tata CLiQ's and are unaudited by us, and our observation that most are built on very few ratings is a statement about sample size, not about their honesty. Nothing here is a judgement of fabric quality, fit, sizing accuracy, stitching, colourfastness or how any shirt wears: nothing on this page was bought, worn, washed or handled by us, and neither a discount percentage nor a rating is a recommendation to buy.

What to do with this before you buy

Check the rating count, then mostly ignore the rating. Forty-nine of 85 listings here have a rating and the median count behind one is four. Only a handful — the U.S. Polo Assn. at 187, a Thomas Scott at 144, another U.S. Polo Assn. at 79 — carry enough for the average to mean much.

Compare within a brand tier, never across one. American Eagle at 20% off and Thomas Scott at 76% are not two ends of a value scale; they are two list-price policies. Decide the label and the budget first, then look at the rupee prices inside that band.

Under Rs. 1,000 is real, and unevidenced. Eighteen listings sit there and most carry no ratings at all, so the return terms matter more than usual. If you want the same category with thousands of ratings attached, our AJIO-versus-Myntra shirt comparison covers where that evidence lives, and the Tata CLiQ sneaker shelf is the adjacent read on this platform.

The short version

Across 85 Tata CLiQ men's shirt listings read on 6 September 2026, prices run Rs. 549 to Rs. 3,199 at a median Rs. 1,299 and a median 49% off, with 60 under Rs. 1,500 and 18 under Rs. 1,000.

Ratings exist here but barely: 49 of 85 listings carry one, the median rating count is four, and 33 of the 49 have fewer than ten. The best-evidenced shirt on the shelf has 187 ratings. And the badge runs backwards to price — American Eagle, the dearest brand at a median Rs. 2,112, has the smallest median discount at 20%, while Thomas Scott at a median Rs. 749 carries 76% against stated MRPs up to Rs. 4,299. Pick the brand and the budget first; the percentages rank nothing.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a men's shirt cost on Tata CLiQ?
In the 85 listings we read on 6 September 2026, shirts ran Rs. 549 to Rs. 3,199 at a median of Rs. 1,299, with 60 under Rs. 1,500 and 18 under Rs. 1,000. The cheapest was an English Navy maroon slim fit at Rs. 549, followed by a Club York printed regular fit at Rs. 599 and a Thomas Scott striped slim fit at Rs. 639. At the top end, American Eagle, Rare Rabbit and Louis Philippe listings ran past Rs. 2,000 to a ceiling of Rs. 3,199. These are the listings Tata CLiQ's own search served us on one afternoon for two queries; results are re-ranked continuously and prices move without notice.
Can I trust the ratings on Tata CLiQ listings?
Treat them with care, because most rest on almost nothing. In this read 49 of 85 listings carried a rating and the median count behind those was four — 33 of the 49 had fewer than ten ratings, and 36 listings had none at all. A 5.0 from two ratings appears more than once here and tells you very little. The best-evidenced listing on the shelf was a U.S. Polo Assn. white regular fit at Rs. 1,494 with 187 ratings at 4.2. We are not suggesting any rating is inaccurate — new listings simply start empty — but as a rule of thumb, an average built on fewer than about 30 ratings should not decide a purchase.
Why do some Tata CLiQ shirts show 75% off and others 20%?
Because the badge follows the brand's list-price convention rather than the shirt. Grouped by brand in this read, American Eagle — the most expensive label here at a median Rs. 2,112 — had the smallest median badge at 20%, while Thomas Scott, the cheapest named brand at a median Rs. 749, had the largest at 76%, against stated MRPs of Rs. 2,999 to Rs. 4,299. Levi's sat at 42%, Arrow 45%, U.S. Polo Assn. 40%, WROGN 55%. We cannot verify that any stated MRP was ever a live selling price and allege no wrongdoing by anyone; the practical consequence is that the percentage cannot be used to compare two shirts from different brands.
Which brands are cheapest for shirts on Tata CLiQ?
On this read, the low-priced named brands were Thomas Scott (median Rs. 749), Club York (Rs. 599–849 across its listings), SHOWOFFFF (median Rs. 960) and Hancock, with WROGN the cheapest of the better-known labels at a median Rs. 1,156. Arrow was Rs. 1,319, U.S. Polo Assn. Rs. 1,434, Louis Philippe Rs. 1,649, Levi's Rs. 1,712, Rare Rabbit Rs. 1,824 and American Eagle Rs. 2,112. Note that the cheaper brands are also the ones with the fewest ratings attached to their listings, so you are trading customer evidence for price at the bottom of this shelf.
Is Tata CLiQ cheaper than Myntra or AJIO for shirts?
On the reads we did the same afternoon, the three platforms differ more in evidence than in price. Tata CLiQ's shirt shelf had a median of Rs. 1,299 at a median 49% off, on a lineup of recognisable brands. AJIO's womenswear shelf ran to a median 73% off on marketplace labels with no ratings shown at all across 192 listings, while Myntra's listings carried rating counts in the thousands. Within menswear specifically we compared AJIO against Myntra directly. All three re-rank and reprice continuously, so treat any single comparison as one day's snapshot rather than a standing ranking.
