Tata CLiQ Dumbbell Price September 2026: Rs. 42 to Rs. 350 per Kg

Home weights are one of the few things you buy where the product is literally a quantity. So we read Tata CLiQ's fitness shelf on 29 September 2026 - 88 listings in its own Health & Wellness category - and divided each price by the mass its title states.

Twenty-six listings state an unambiguous total weight, and the rate runs Rs. 41.96 to Rs. 349.75 per kilogram. That is an 8.3x spread, and it is not explained by brand. It is explained almost entirely by the shape of the metal.

A plastic-coated plate set is the cheap way to own kilograms; a kettlebell is the expensive one. That is a real difference in manufacture and in what the object does, not a pricing quirk - but it is invisible on a search page where a Rs. 1,049 item and a Rs. 1,099 item sit side by side carrying 25 kg and 5 kg respectively.

Protoner lists its PVC adjustable dumbbell set in six weights at once, which makes it the cleanest test of the pack-size effect we found here. Same brand, same stated format, same discount band - only the quantity changes.

The 25 kg set costs 1.62 times the 8 kg set and carries 3.1 times the weight. Put the other way: buying the 8 kg set three times over would cost Rs. 1,947 for 24 kg, against Rs. 1,049 for 25 kg in one box. The badges are near identical across the six - 55% to 58% - so the discount is not what separates them.

The catch is honest and worth stating: a beginner does not need 25 kg, and plates you never load are not a saving. The rate tells you the cost of capacity, not whether you want it.

Eleven kettlebell listings state a mass. Every single one of them is dearer per kilogram than every plate set on the shelf.

The three Decathlon Domyos kettlebells are the dearest per kilogram in the read at Rs. 312 to Rs. 350, and they also carry the smallest badges: 13%, 19% and 21%. The KAKSS kettlebells at Rs. 204 to Rs. 237 per kg carry badges of 41% to 49%. On this shelf the brand with the biggest discounts is not the brand with the lowest rate - the same inversion we keep finding wherever we divide by the unit.

We have not handled any of these, and coating, casting quality and handle finish are real differences that a per-kilogram rate cannot see.

Two listings nearly broke this page. Decathlon's "Domyos Versatile Weight Training Resistance Band 40 kg" at Rs. 1,299 and its 50 kg sibling at Rs. 1,799 are elastic bands rated to that resistance - not 40 or 50 kilograms of iron.

Divided naively they produce Rs. 32.50 and Rs. 36.00 per kg, which would have been the two cheapest "weights" in the read by a distance, and a completely fictional finding. A third listing, a portable training bar sold with "two 10 kg resistance bands", has the same problem. All three are excluded from every figure on this page.

Three further listings state a mass without saying whether it is per dumbbell or per pair - two KAKSS listings reading "Dumbbells Size - 12KG" and "Size - 1.5KG", and a Protoner "Hexagonal Fixed Dumbbells Pair of 4kg". We excluded those too rather than guess, and we mention them because the naive parse of the 1.5 kg one yields Rs. 532.67 per kg, which would have made a much better headline than an honest one.

Of the 88 fitness listings, 21 publish a rating count at all, and the largest count in the whole read is four. Four ratings. That is the entire published evidence base on the shelf's best-evidenced item.

This is a Tata CLiQ pattern rather than a fitness one - reads we have run on its curtain, cookware and helmet shelves returned medians of two to four ratings as well. The practical consequence is that on this shelf there is nothing to sort by except price and stated specification, which is a large part of why we divide by the kilogram.

• Divide the price by the kilograms in the title. Rs. 1,049 for 25 kg and Rs. 1,099 for 5 kg are next to each other on the shelf and are Rs. 42 and Rs. 220 per kg.
• Check whether a stated weight is per piece, per pair or a resistance rating. Three listings here state a "kg" that is band resistance and three more do not say whether it is one dumbbell or two.
• Buy the format, then the quantity. Plate sets are Rs. 42 to Rs. 106 per kg and kettlebells Rs. 204 to Rs. 350 - if you genuinely want a kettlebell that premium is the product, but do not let a plate set's rate tempt you into the wrong object.
• Ignore the badge. The dearest kilogram on this shelf carries a 13% badge and the cheapest carries 56%.
