Two shelves, one piece of furniture, read the same afternoon on 30 September 2026. Amazon's 48 study tables have a median price of Rs. 2,399; Tata CLiQ's 41 have a median of Rs. 5,799. That looks like a decisive win until you see what sits at Amazon's cheap end - folding bed tables at Rs. 249.
The more useful findings are elsewhere. Eleven of Tata CLiQ's 41 listings are the same desk listed twice in two finishes, and 24 of the 41 are one brand. And where Amazon's best-evidenced table carries 8,632 ratings, the largest rating count anywhere on Tata CLiQ's shelf is five. Below: both shelves, in full.

These are not two prices for one shelf - they are two different shelves
Both were read on the afternoon of 30 September 2026, logged out, in India, with nothing purchased: 48 listings from Amazon's search for 'study table' and 41 from Tata CLiQ's own search API, restricted to tiles whose printed title contains 'table' or 'desk'. Amazon's median is Rs. 2,399 and Tata CLiQ's is Rs. 5,799, and quoting that gap as a price difference would be close to meaningless.
The reason is visible in the cheap end. Amazon's four cheapest listings - Rs. 249, Rs. 299 and two at Rs. 399 - are folding bed and laptop tables, the kind you put on a mattress, and it has 19 listings under Rs. 2,000. Tata CLiQ has one listing under Rs. 2,000 in the entire read, a Rs. 1,599 metal-frame Delite Kom. One shop is selling a lot of folding boards alongside its desks; the other is selling furniture.
Both shelves do reach the same ceiling, which is the useful part: Amazon tops out at Rs. 20,990 for a height-adjustable Green Soul and Tata CLiQ at Rs. 18,999 for a mango-wood ExclusiveLane. So if you want an actual desk rather than a lap-board, the two shops overlap almost completely, and the comparison worth making is not the medians but what each tile tells you before you buy.

Tata CLiQ's 41 listings are closer to 30 products
Eleven pairs on Tata CLiQ's shelf share an identical selling price and an identical stated MRP, and in every case the two tiles are one model in two finishes. Delite Kom's Amigo appears as 'Acacia Dark Beige' and 'Flowery Wenge Brown', both Rs. 2,499 against a stated MRP of Rs. 4,947. Its Zooey, Kiara, Melanza, Glide, Berry, Valor, Santos and Bliss do the same. Nilkamal's Leo appears twice at Rs. 3,190, and Green Soul's Nexus twice at Rs. 9,999 in Wenge and Walnut.

This is the widest evidence gap we have recorded between two shelves selling the same thing. Amazon published a rating count on 45 of its 48 listings, at a median of 219 and a maximum of 8,632 - that largest count sits on a Wakefit study table at Rs. 2,568, and a wow craft folding table at Rs. 2,298 carries 5,878.
Tata CLiQ published a count on 16 of its 41, and the complete list of those counts is worth printing in full: 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 5, 5, 5. Nine of its sixteen rated listings have been rated exactly once. The highest count anywhere on the shelf is five. Twenty-five listings carry no rating at all.
