Nykaa Face Wash and Moisturiser Prices August 2026: Median Badge 12%

We pulled 64 face wash, moisturiser, serum and sunscreen listings from Nykaa's own data on 30 August 2026. Every one carries a price, a stated MRP and a badge. The median selling price is Rs. 492, and the median badge is 12 per cent.

Thirty-one of the 64 sit at 10 per cent or below. The deepest thing on the whole shelf is 56 per cent, and it appears exactly once. There is no 70 per cent here, and no 90 per cent — numbers that are routine on a marketplace apparel shelf and simply do not occur on this one.

That is worth stating plainly because it inverts the usual advice. On this shelf a small badge is not a bad deal; it is a sign that the MRP beside it is a real price.

Group the shelf by brand and the badges cluster into flat, unchanging rates. Minimalist is at 5 per cent on all six of its listings. La Roche-Posay is at 5 per cent on both of its. CeraVe and Re'equil are at a flat 10 per cent, The Derma Co at a flat 12, Simple at a flat 20.

A badge that is identical across a brand's entire range is a pricing policy rather than a promotion. These are brands that sell at one national price through every channel, so the MRP printed on the page is the price the product actually carries, and the few per cent off it is a genuine, if modest, reduction.

The practical consequence is that waiting does not help much here. A Minimalist cleanser at Rs. 284 against a Rs. 299 MRP has almost no room left to fall. If you want it, the price today is close enough to the price in a month.

The seven listings above 25 per cent are not obscure labels. They are mass-market names with decades of distribution behind them: Cetaphil at 56 per cent on one cleanser and 50 on a water gel, Ponds at 40, Plix at 40, Neutrogena at 37, Himalaya at 25.

This is the opposite of the pattern on a marketplace apparel shelf, where the deepest badges belong to sellers nobody has heard of stating MRPs nobody paid. Here the deep discounters are the brands with the most to defend — large-volume products with real shelf presence in pharmacies and supermarkets, competing against a wave of newer actives-led labels that price low to begin with.

The Cetaphil exfoliating cleanser at Rs. 99 against Rs. 225 is the single cheapest thing in this pull and carries 4,349 ratings at 4.2. Whether it is a small pack size we cannot tell from listing data, and we say so rather than guess.

The other thing this shelf has that most do not is evidence. Sixty-three of the 64 listings carry a star rating and a rating count, and the counts are enormous: ten listings have more than 140,000 ratings each.

The Ponds Super Light Gel moisturiser alone shows 674,749 ratings at 4.5. Cetaphil's Gentle Skin Cleanser has 428,160 at 4.5. Minimalist's sunscreen has 161,100 at 4.3 while selling at Rs. 379 with a 5 per cent badge.

We report these because Nykaa publishes them, not because we have verified how they are collected or moderated; a rating count is a measure of how many people bought and responded, not an independent test. But on a shelf where the discounts tell you almost nothing, the rating counts are the more useful column of the two.
