HP sells printers and monitors from the same store, and we read both listing pages on 26 October 2026 - 24 tiles, each with the selling price and the strike-through price HP's own pages print.
Printers are cut a median 30%; monitors a median 10%. The two aisles cover almost the same money, Rs. 7,500 to about Rs. 1.5 lakh, so this is not a cheap-versus-dear effect. Here is every tile, and where the percentage actually is.
📅 Update log:
26 Oct 2026: first published. Every selling price, strike-through price and percentage on this page was read from hp.com/in-en/shop's own printer and monitor listing pages on 26 October 2026, logged out, from India, within the same few minutes so the two aisles are comparable. Nothing was bought, no printer or monitor was handled or tested, and no running cost was measured.
HP sells printers and monitors from the same online store, on the same day, to the same customer. We read both listing pages on 26 October 2026 - 12 tiles each, with the selling price and the strike-through price HP's own pages publish on every one.
The printer aisle is discounted three times as deeply as the monitor aisle. Printers: a median 30% off, every one of the twelve marked down. Monitors: a median 10%, with five of the twelve under 10% and one carrying no strike-through at all.
The two aisles, side by side
| Read on 26 Oct 2026 | Printers | Monitors |
|---|
| Listings read | 12 | 12 |
| Showing any discount | 12 of 12 | 11 of 12 |
| Median discount | 30% | 10% |
| Discount range | 19% – 58% | 2% – 41% |
| Selling price range | Rs. 7,499 – Rs. 1,57,000 | Rs. 7,999 – Rs. 1,37,000 |
| Listings at 30% off or more | 7 of 12 | 2 of 12 |
| Listings under 10% off | 0 of 12 | 5 of 12 |
| Star rating or review count published | none | none |
This is not a price-range effect. The two aisles overlap almost exactly in money terms - printers run Rs. 7,499 to Rs. 1,57,000, monitors Rs. 7,999 to Rs. 1,37,000 - so it is not that one shelf is cheap and the other dear. At every price point in the overlap, the printer tile carries the bigger percentage. Nothing here suggests either figure is improper; HP prices its own categories however it chooses, and consumables-funded hardware has long been discounted differently from display hardware.

The two deepest cuts in the entire read are both mono laser multifunctions. The LaserJet Pro MFP M126nw plus at Rs. 23,999 against Rs. 56,704, and the LaserJet MFP M233sdw at Rs. 24,885 against Rs. 57,907 - 58% and 57%. Nothing else in the 24 tiles reaches 50%. If you are buying a printer from HP's own store this month, the laser aisle is where the percentage is; whether it is where the value is depends on running costs we have not measured and do not claim to know.

What a 2% discount on a Rs. 1.37 lakh monitor means
The 49-inch DQHD conferencing monitor is listed at Rs. 1,37,000 against Rs. 1,39,940. That is Rs. 2,940 off, or 2.1%, and it is the shallowest figure anywhere in this read. The cheapest monitor on the page, the 19.5-inch P204v, is similar in spirit: Rs. 7,999 against Rs. 8,400, which is Rs. 401 off.
Five of the twelve monitors are discounted by under 10%, where none of the twelve printers is. And the E32k G5 publishes no second figure at all - Rs. 60,000, full stop - which makes it the only tile in the read you cannot compute a percentage for. We report that absence as an absence.
Neither page publishes a single rating
Not one of the 24 tiles in this read carries a star average or a review count. HP's own store is a manufacturer storefront rather than a marketplace, so there is no buyer-feedback layer on these listing pages at all.
That matters practically: on a marketplace you can at least see how many people have bought a printer before you. Here you cannot, in either direction. A listing with no published rating is unproven, not bad - and we have not imported a rating from anywhere else to fill the gap.
Three checks before buying from HP's own store
One: compare the selling price with a marketplace, not the percentage with a percentage. A 58% badge on HP's store and a 20% badge elsewhere can sit on the same money; our earlier read of HP Store against Amazon found the two shelves did not share a single laptop model, so matching by model number is the only reliable method.
Two: for printers, the purchase price is the smaller half of the decision - ink or toner cost per page decides the rest, and nothing on these listing pages tells you it. Three: check whether a coupon or bank offer stacks on top, since nothing in a listing price reflects cart-level discounts. Our verified HP coupon page is linked below. Frequently Asked Questions
Are HP printers more discounted than HP monitors?
On HP's own India store, read on 26 October 2026, yes - substantially. Across 12 printer tiles the median discount was 30%, with all 12 marked down and seven at 30% or more. Across 12 monitor tiles the median was 10%, with five under 10% and one carrying no strike-through price at all. The two aisles cover almost the same price range, so this is not a cheap-versus-expensive effect.
What is the biggest discount on HP's India store right now?
In this read, the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M126nw plus at Rs. 23,999 against a strike-through Rs. 56,704 - 58% off, followed by the LaserJet MFP M233sdw at Rs. 24,885 against Rs. 57,907 (57%). Those are the only two tiles of 24 above 50%. The deepest monitor cut was the Series 7 Pro 31.5-inch 4K docking monitor at Rs. 1,18,000 against Rs. 1,98,524 (41%). Read 26 October 2026.
How much does an HP printer cost in India in October 2026?
On HP's own store this read, printers ran Rs. 7,499 to Rs. 1,57,000. The entry point is the DeskJet Ink Advantage 2986 and 2989 at Rs. 7,499 each against a Rs. 11,045 strike-through; the ink-tank models are Rs. 21,999 (Smart Tank 720) and Rs. 25,999 (Smart Tank 750); the mono laser multifunctions are about Rs. 24,000; and the large-format DesignJet plotters run Rs. 79,900 to Rs. 1,57,000.
Why do some HP monitors show almost no discount?
We do not know HP's reasoning and this page does not guess at it. What the listings show is that five of twelve monitors were discounted by under 10%, including the 49-inch conferencing monitor at Rs. 1,37,000 against Rs. 1,39,940 - Rs. 2,940, or 2.1% off - and the 19.5-inch P204v at Rs. 401 off. One, the E32k G5 at Rs. 60,000, published no second figure at all.
Does HP's store show customer ratings?
Not on these listing pages. None of the 24 printer and monitor tiles in this read carried a star average or a review count - HP's store is a manufacturer storefront, not a marketplace, so there is no buyer-feedback layer on the listing grid. We report the absence and draw no conclusion about quality from it in either direction.
Prices & codes last verified: October 26, 2026
Every selling price, strike-through price, percentage and count on this page was read from hp.com/in-en/shop's own printer and monitor listing pages on 26 October 2026, logged out, from India, within the same few minutes. Nothing was purchased, delivered, installed, printed with or tested, and no claim is made about print quality, page yield, ink or toner running cost, panel quality, colour accuracy, refresh rate in use, reliability or warranty service on any model. Each listing page served 12 tiles at the time of the read and is not a census of everything HP sells in India; models added, withdrawn or repriced afterwards are not reflected here, and HP's store personalises and regionalises pricing in ways a single logged-out read cannot see. A strike-through price is the figure HP's own page publishes; we report it and compute the percentage from it, but nothing here asserts that any such figure is false or improper, and nothing alleges wrongdoing by HP. Discounting one product category more deeply than another is ordinary commercial practice, reported as published fact. Where a tile publishes no strike-through price we report the absence rather than estimating one, and no rating appears anywhere on this page because neither listing page publishes one. The large-format DesignJet models are commercial plotters rather than home printers, and are included because they were on the page. Prices change without notice - check the live listing before buying. Zoutons may earn a commission on purchases made through links on this page; this does not affect what is written above.
