Four rules for buying from the HP store

First: divide the stated MRP by the price. Anything above about 1.6 on this store is a consumer-line list price rather than a commercial one, and the badge attached to it is not measuring money you can spend. Second: compare a gaming machine against a business machine at the same price rather than against its own MRP - they sit side by side here and the comparison is far more useful. Third: check whether Windows 11 Pro is included, because the commercial machines carry it and the consumer ones do not, and buying it separately is a real cost. Fourth: HP publishes no ratings at all, so cross-check any model against a retailer that does - our Croma laptop price read covers many of the same machines.

What we skipped — and why

What we skipped, and why: the Rs. 80,417 OmniBook 3, which is the cheapest laptop on the store and would otherwise have been seated — HP's own listing serves its placeholder graphic instead of a product photograph, and we will not put a placeholder on a card; the one product that returned a price with no stated MRP, since this page is a read of what the badge is doing; and six listings whose product images are shared with a machine already seated, which is normal within a hardware family and would have put the same photograph on two cards.

What we look for

We separate HP's commercial hardware from its consumer gaming hardware

On this store, on one afternoon, those two halves behave like different retailers. Series Pro monitors, Pro Tower desktops, ProBook and EliteBook notebooks and LaserJet printers discount 2% to 37% against list prices that stay within touching distance of what is charged. Victus, OMEN and HyperX discount 35% to 58% against MRPs of Rs. 299,898, Rs. 503,401 and Rs. 986,368. Every card here says which half it belongs to, because the badge means something different in each.

We divide the stated MRP by the price before calling anything a saving

A HyperX OMEN 16 at Rs. 209,199 states Rs. 503,401 — a claimed Rs. 294,202 off a laptop, on the manufacturer's own store. An OMEN 45L desktop at Rs. 534,999 states Rs. 986,368. We have found no evidence that either machine has ever been sold near those figures, so those cards describe the gap as a claim. The Rs. 137,000 monitor stating Rs. 139,940 is what a list price looks like when it is meant.

We note that HP publishes no ratings at all

HP's listing pages carry no star average and no review count for any of the forty-eight products in this read. There are therefore no rating pills anywhere on this page and nothing here is described as popular, well-reviewed or best-selling. This is the same condition as the AJIO footwear shelf we read on the same day, and the opposite of the Myntra shelf where single listings carried close to seventy thousand ratings.

We quote HP's own specification strip and add nothing to it

Processor, RAM, storage, panel size, resolution and print function are copied from the specification line HP prints under each listing. We did not benchmark, open, print from or measure anything. Where HP's own listing is incomplete — and in one case it serves a placeholder graphic instead of a product photograph — we say so rather than filling the gap.

FAQs

Is the HP India store cheaper than buying HP from Amazon or Croma?

Not automatically, and this read cannot answer it on its own because HP's store and the marketplaces stock overlapping but different configurations. What this read does establish is that HP's own store prices its commercial hardware close to its stated list — 2% to 37% off across monitors, printers, Pro Tower desktops and ProBook and EliteBook notebooks — and its consumer gaming hardware far below a much larger stated list. Compare the selling price against a retailer, never the discount percentage, and check the exact model number: HP sells several Victus and OMEN configurations whose names differ by four characters.

Why does HP show 58% off on its own gaming laptops?

Because the percentage is calculated against a stated MRP that HP itself sets, and on its consumer gaming lines those MRPs sit far above any price the machines have sold at. In this read a HyperX OMEN 16 at Rs. 209,199 states Rs. 503,401, an OMEN 45L desktop at Rs. 534,999 states Rs. 986,368, and a Victus at Rs. 129,999 states Rs. 299,898. The same store's commercial hardware behaves entirely differently: a Rs. 137,000 conferencing monitor states Rs. 139,940, a 2% badge. The gaming prices themselves are competitive; the percentages are not measuring anything spendable.

What is the cheapest HP laptop on the official store?

In this read the cheapest laptop listed was an OmniBook 3 at Rs. 80,417, against a stated Rs. 206,414. We have not seated it on this page because HP's own listing serves a placeholder graphic instead of a product photograph. The cheapest laptop with an actual product image was a Victus 15-fb3385AX at Rs. 119,999. The cheapest computer of any kind was an OmniDesk Slim desktop at Rs. 66,500, and the cheapest product across all four categories was a DeskJet printer at Rs. 7,499. Prices were read on 9 September 2026 and change without notice.

Does HP publish customer ratings on its store?

Not on the listing pages. None of the forty-eight products in this read returned a star average or a review count, which is why no rating pill appears anywhere on this page and why nothing here is described as popular or well-reviewed. Some individual HP product pages carry a reviews section powered by a third party, but it is not present in the catalogue view shoppers browse and there is no way to sort or filter by it. If reviews matter to your decision, check the same model number on a retailer that publishes them.

Should I buy a business laptop or a gaming laptop from HP?

Look at what sits at your budget rather than at the badges. In this read a Pro Tower 280 G9 desktop at Rs. 129,989 and a Victus gaming laptop at Rs. 129,999 are ten rupees apart; a ProBook with a Core Ultra 7 and 32GB at Rs. 196,499 is Rs. 12,700 below a HyperX OMEN. The business machines include Windows 11 Pro and are built to be serviced; the gaming machines include discrete graphics and higher-refresh screens and run Windows 11 Home. Those are the actual trade-offs, and neither the 23% nor the 58% badge helps you make them.

More HP coverage on Zoutons

How Zoutons picks deals Zoutons may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page. Every selling price and stated MRP here was read on 9 September 2026 from HP's own store at hp.com/in-en/shop as served to a logged-out visitor in India, across the laptops, monitors, printers and desktops categories; forty-eight products returned a price, forty-seven also stated an MRP, and twenty-three are seated, chosen for price spread and to show both halves of the catalogue. HP publishes no ratings or review counts on these listings, so no rating pill appears on this page. Processor, memory, storage, panel and print specifications are HP's own listing text and were not tested or benchmarked. Prices, discounts, configurations and stock change without notice, so the live listing is authoritative for anything you buy.
