Fifty-three protein bar listings read on one morning. Eleven of them publish enough to work out what the protein costs. The gap between the cheapest and the dearest is 2.6 times.
A protein bar is bought for one number, so the test on this page is whether Flipkart's shelf publishes it. Read on 10 October 2026: 53 listings, Rs. 57 to Rs. 1,149, median Rs. 377. Eleven state both a protein figure per bar and how many bars are in the pack, and across those eleven the same gram of stated protein costs Rs. 2.71 to Rs. 7.03. The other 42 print a total pack weight, a flavour and a discount badge, and leave out the claim the product is sold for.
Every price below was pulled from Flipkart on October 10, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Flipkart coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.
The four listings that state both a protein figure and a bar count and land cheapest — including the one place on this shelf where a familiar brand is within 29 paise of an unfamiliar one.
A pack of 6 Acme Poshan dark chocolate bars, 12.5 g protein each, at Rs. 203.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 2.71 a gram of stated protein, the lowest figure in this read.
A Yogabar PowerUp variety pack of 10, 20 g protein a bar, at Rs. 599.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 3.00 a protein gram from the best-known name on the shelf.
A pack of 6 Acme Poshan dates and almond bars, 10 g protein each, at Rs. 225.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 3.75 a gram — dearer than the 12.5 g pack that costs Rs. 22 less.
An AS-IT-IS Nutrition ATOM pack of 6, 60 g bars, 20 g protein, at Rs. 524.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 4.37 a gram, and 747 people have rated it.
Rs. 4.84 to Rs. 6.14 a protein gram, and the single-bar listing that looks like the cheapest tile on the shelf while being the dearest way to buy the bar.
A SUPERYOU strawberry wafer pack of 10, 10 g protein and 3 g fibre, at Rs. 484.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 4.84 a gram with 1,430 ratings behind it, on a 19% badge.
An MS choco almond crunch pack of 6, 10 g protein and 10.70 g fibre, at Rs. 338.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 5.63 a gram, from a listing four people have rated.
One single Acme Poshan dates and almond bar, 50 g, 10 g protein, at Rs. 57.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 5.70 a protein gram — 52% more than the same bar in a six pack.
A RiteBite Max Protein Minis assorted pack of 10, 5 g protein a mini, at Rs. 307.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 6.14 a gram: the small bar is where the per-gram cost climbs.
Rs. 6.65 to Rs. 7.03 a protein gram — the best-known supplement brand here, the dearest protein in the read with no rating at all, and a creatine wafer the test prices wrongly on purpose.
A MuscleBlaze pack of 6, 10 g protein a bar, at Rs. 399.
Why it earned its spot The best-known sports nutrition name here, and the third dearest per gram.
A BREAKCAGE vegan choco peanut pack of 6, 10 g protein a bar, at Rs. 422.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 7.03 a gram, 2.6 times the cheapest, with no rating at all.
A Wellcore creatine wafer pack of 10, 3 g creatine and 8 g protein, at Rs. 539.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 6.74 a protein gram — but protein is not what it is sold for.
Nine seated examples of the shelf's real problem: boxes that print a protein figure and no bar count, packs that print a bar count and no protein figure, and the rating pools shared across both.
A PurFerme Project Millet PurGrain bar pack, 10 x 50 g, at Rs. 752.
Why it earned its spot The pack count is stated, the protein per bar is not.
A RiteBite Max Protein Active choco fudge box, 450 g, 20 g protein a bar, at Rs. 671.
Why it earned its spot The protein figure is printed and the pack count is not, so the sum cannot be done.
A RiteBite Max Protein Daily choco almond box, 300 g, 10 g protein a bar, at Rs. 416.
Why it earned its spot The second-largest rating pool on the page, and the same missing number.
A Whole Truth chocolate party pack of 8 minis, 216 g, at Rs. 499.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 62 a mini, and the protein claim is not in the listing text.
A Whole Truth peanut cocoa pack of 8 minis, 216 g, at Rs. 499.
Why it earned its spot Same price, same pack, same stated MRP — and a different rating pool.
A Whole Truth cocoa cranberry fudge pack of 6 x 40 g at Rs. 429.
Why it earned its spot The dearest bar on this page per unit, and it is filed as an energy bar.
A Yogabar breakfast variety box, 280 g, at Rs. 249.
Why it earned its spot The cheapest multipack here, and its rating pool belongs to two listings.
A Yogabar 810 g protein bar box at Rs. 448.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 0.55 a gram of bar — which is not the same thing as protein.
An Eat Anytime quinoa millet energy bar pack, 12 x 25 g, at Rs. 352.
Why it earned its spot Twelve bars for Rs. 29.33 each, and no protein claim at all.
Four checks before you add to basket. First, look for two numbers, not one. A pack is only comparable if it states protein per bar and bars per pack; 42 of the 53 listings here state a total weight instead, and a weight-price flatters a bar that is mostly dates and oats. Second, do the division yourself. Rs. 203 for six 12.5 g bars is Rs. 2.71 a protein gram; Rs. 422 for six 10 g bars is Rs. 7.03. Neither figure appears anywhere on the shelf. Third, never buy the single bar. The same Acme bar costs Rs. 57 alone and Rs. 37.50 inside the six pack — 52% more per gram for the privilege of buying one, and the single is the cheapest-looking tile on the page. Fourth, read the rating count as a family, not a product. Seven Acme listings share 136 ratings and two Yogabar boxes share 6,229, so those numbers describe a range rather than the box in front of you; two Whole Truth packs at the same price carry separate pools of 52 and 34, which are smaller and more useful. This is a price page: nothing here was bought, opened, weighed or eaten, no protein claim was tested, and nothing on this page is nutrition, dietary or medical advice — protein needs differ by person and are a question for a qualified professional.

Each selling price, stated MRP, discount badge, star average and rating count here came from what flipkart.com's own search returned for 'protein bar' over two pages on 10 October 2026, logged out, in India, with nothing purchased. 57 rows came back; four were dropped as contaminants — a men's wellness capsule filed under Energy Bars, two dry-fruit laddu packs and a 1.5 kg mass gainer — leaving 53, of which 20 are seated. Every count and range on this page is computed on those 53 rows.
A price per gram of protein is printed on a card only where the listing states both the protein per bar and the number of bars, in its own title or subtitle. Eleven of the 53 rows do. Where a box states 450 g and 20 g a bar but no bar count, no figure is printed and the card says why — dividing by a guessed bar count would invent the number this page exists to check.
Protein, fibre, creatine and weight figures are reproduced exactly as the listings print them. Nothing here was bought, opened, weighed, eaten or sent for analysis, and this page does not assess taste, texture, ingredient quality, protein source, digestibility or whether any bar suits any diet. It compares what two tiles claim, which is the comparison a shopper makes on a results page.
Seven Acme Poshan listings at Rs. 57, Rs. 64, Rs. 203, Rs. 225, Rs. 243, Rs. 254 and Rs. 317 all display 4.4 from 136 ratings. Two Yogabar boxes at Rs. 249 and Rs. 448 both display 4.3 from 6,229. Where a pool is shared, the card says so, because the size of a pool is otherwise read as evidence about one listing. Pooling reviews across variants is an ordinary marketplace practice.
One of the 20 seated listings publishes no rating at all and 12 of the 53 rows do not. No card carries a rating pill unless Flipkart published a star average backed by at least 100 ratings; where there is none, the spec strip says so rather than substituting a score of our own. This is a price page, not a nutrition assessment, and nothing on it is medical or dietary advice.
By tile price, a single Acme Poshan dates and almond bar at Rs. 57. By the number that matters, no. Measured per gram of stated protein, the cheapest listing in this read of 53 is the Acme Poshan dark chocolate six pack at Rs. 203, which works out at Rs. 2.71 a gram, followed by Yogabar's PowerUp pack of 10 at Rs. 599, or Rs. 3.00 a gram. The Rs. 57 single bar costs Rs. 5.70 a gram — more than double the cheapest. Prices were read on 10 October 2026 from Flipkart's own search results and describe those listings on that date.
Multiply the stated protein per bar by the number of bars, then divide the selling price by that total. Rs. 203 for six bars at 12.5 g = 75 g = Rs. 2.71 a gram. Rs. 422 for six bars at 10 g = 60 g = Rs. 7.03 a gram. The catch is that only 11 of the 53 listings in this read publish both numbers; the rest print a total pack weight such as 810 g or 450 g, which is the weight of the whole bar including dates, oats, nuts and syrup, not the protein in it. Where a listing states a protein figure but no bar count, this page prints no per-gram number rather than guessing the count.
On price per stated protein gram, the known names are not uniformly dearer. Yogabar's PowerUp pack is second cheapest in this read at Rs. 3.00 a gram, 29 paise behind an unfamiliar brand, while MuscleBlaze at Rs. 6.65 a gram is third dearest and delivers the same stated 60 g of protein as an Acme pack costing Rs. 174 less. That is an arithmetic comparison of published claims and nothing more: taste, texture, protein source, ingredient quality and manufacturing standards are real differences this page has not tested, and nothing was bought, opened or eaten. Several buyers will reasonably pay the difference.
Because reviews are pooled across variants of a product. Seven Acme Poshan listings priced Rs. 57, Rs. 64, Rs. 203, Rs. 225, Rs. 243, Rs. 254 and Rs. 317 all display 4.4 from the identical 136 ratings, and two Yogabar boxes at Rs. 249 and Rs. 448 both display 4.3 from 6,229. Pooling is an ordinary and legitimate marketplace practice and no wrongdoing is alleged. The practical effect is that a large rating count beside a tile is evidence about a product family rather than about that pack or that price. For contrast, the two Whole Truth packs here carry separate pools of 52 and 34 — smaller numbers, but specific ones.
A badge is arithmetic over the selling price and a stated MRP the seller chose, and nothing here verifies that any pack ever sold at its MRP. On this shelf the badge happens to point roughly the right way, which is unusual enough to say plainly: the cheapest protein per gram carries a 58% badge and the dearest carries 29%. But the badge is still not the per-gram figure — a Yogabar box badged 53% works out at Rs. 0.55 per gram of bar and cannot be costed per gram of protein at all, because it does not state one. Setting a maximum retail price and choosing how deeply to discount are ordinary lawful commercial decisions.
