Sixty-six HDMI listings read on 15 October, priced by the metre Flipkart itself publishes. The cheapest cable is nowhere near the cheapest metre.
Almost no shelf on an Indian marketplace publishes a spec you can divide by. HDMI cables do: every one of the 66 listings in this read prints its length in the title, so the price can be stated per metre. Doing that gives a range of Rs. 36.90 to Rs. 1,300 a metre, a 35x spread, with a median of Rs. 121.33. The cheapest cable on the shelf, Rs. 139, is not close to the cheapest metre at Rs. 36.90. One limit matters more than the arithmetic, though, and this page repeats it: HDMI signal falls off with distance, so a long passive cable is not a substitute for a short certified one. Read the bandwidth tier first, then compare per metre inside it.
Every price below was pulled from Flipkart on October 15, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Flipkart coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.
Eight listings from Rs. 36.90 to Rs. 69.60 a metre, including every cable in the read of 10 m or more bar one - and a tile whose title states two different lengths.
Rs. 36.90 a metre, ten metres
Why it earned its spot the lowest per-metre rate on the shelf, and the clearest demonstration that the cheapest cable and the cheapest metre are different things
Rs. 188 for five metres
Why it earned its spot five metres for Rs. 188 — Rs. 37.60 a metre — against a stated Rs. 999, a 5.31x multiple
Fifteen metres, Rs. 567
Why it earned its spot fifteen metres at Rs. 37.80 a metre, which is where long passive runs stop being a per-metre bargain and start being an engineering question
Ten metres, 472 ratings
Why it earned its spot a second ten-metre cable at Rs. 42.10 a metre, with a larger rating pool than the cheapest one
Three metres, 2,844 ratings
Why it earned its spot 2,844 ratings here, and the identical 2,844 on this brand's one-metre listing at pick 17 — for Rs. 10 less
'5 m' and '3mtr' on one tile
Why it earned its spot the listing's own title states two different lengths, which is worth a card on a page that prices by length
4,657 ratings, Rs. 200
Why it earned its spot the biggest published sample on this page, on a 3 m cable at Rs. 66.67 a metre
Five metres, Rs. 348
Why it earned its spot Rs. 69.60 a metre, and a 371-rating pool that reappears on this brand's 1.5 m listing at pick 16
Eight listings around the shelf's median rate of Rs. 121.33 a metre, including the cheapest cable in the read at Rs. 139, the biggest stated multiple at 9.14x, and one brand badging 24% and 84% in the same week.
Portronics 5 m, 2,915 ratings
Why it earned its spot the third brand in this read publishing one identical rating count across two different lengths
24% off, and Rs. 83.80 a metre
Why it earned its spot a 24% badge and a 1.31x stated multiple — the most modest pair of numbers on the page — attached to the largest rating pool but one
Twenty metres, Rs. 1,927
Why it earned its spot twenty metres at Rs. 96.35 a metre — more than double the rate of the ten- and fifteen-metre cables above it
Rs. 139, and Rs. 92.67 a metre
Why it earned its spot the lowest price on the shelf, at a per-metre rate two and a half times the shelf's cheapest metre
Rs. 148, 1.5 m, 6.07x stated
Why it earned its spot an 84% badge and a 6.07x stated multiple from the same brand whose 5 m listing at pick 10 is badged 24%
Rs. 1,499 stated, Rs. 164 charged
Why it earned its spot a 9.14x stated multiple — the largest in the read — on a 1.5 m cable with 18 published ratings
Rs. 186, Rs. 124.00 a metre
Why it earned its spot a well-evidenced 1.5 m cable priced at more than three times the per-metre rate of this brand's own 3 m listing
Rs. 197 for 1.5 m
Why it earned its spot the shortest member of a shared rating pool, at Rs. 131.33 a metre against its 5 m stablemate's Rs. 69.60
Five listings from Rs. 169 to Rs. 868 a metre. Two of them name a concrete bandwidth tier that explains the rate; one publishes no rating and cannot agree with itself about how long it is.
Rs. 169 for a single metre
Why it earned its spot Rs. 169.00 a metre, Rs. 10 below the same brand's three-metre cable carrying the identical rating pool
A 4.56x stated multiple on 89 ratings
Why it earned its spot Rs. 329.00 a metre, at nearly nine times the shelf's cheapest per-metre rate, on a sample of 89
8K HDMI 2.1, two metres, Rs. 630
Why it earned its spot Rs. 315.00 a metre for a cable whose listing names a concrete bandwidth specification rather than an adjective
Rs. 888 for two metres
Why it earned its spot Rs. 444.00 a metre on a 24-rating sample, the thinnest evidence at the expensive end
Rs. 868 a metre, and a title that disagrees with itself
Why it earned its spot Rs. 868.00 a metre at the top of the read, on a listing whose title says 0.5 m and whose description says 5M, with no rating published
Four habits survive this read. First, decide the bandwidth tier before anything else. If you are driving 4K at 120Hz or 8K at 60Hz you need a cable rated for it, and on this shelf that information appears only in the listing's own copy — 'HDMI 2.1', '48Gbps' — which we have not verified. A Rs. 36.90 metre is worthless if the cable cannot carry your signal. Second, measure your run, then price per metre within that length. The unit compares like with like; it does not make ten metres better than 1.5 m, and surplus cable behind a television is a real nuisance. Third, check whether the length in the title appears twice. Three of the 66 listings here print two different lengths in one line, and length is the only spec this shelf always publishes. Fourth, read the rating count, and check it against the brand's other lengths. Four brands in this read publish one identical count on two different cables, so the evidence beside a short cable may belong to a long one — and 30 of the 66 listings publish no rating at all.

Each selling price, stated MRP, discount badge, star average and rating count here was parsed on 15 October 2026 from the window.__INITIAL_STATE__ PRODUCT_SUMMARY tiles that flipkart.com serves with its own search-results pages for 'hdmi cable', logged out, in India, with nothing purchased. 66 distinct HDMI listings were returned and 21 are seated. Nothing here comes from a product page, a review, a manufacturer's site or any third party.
Every HDMI title in this read carries a length - '5 m', '1.5 m', '20 m' - and the per-metre figure on each card is simply the selling price divided by that number. We did not measure any cable, and where a listing prints two different lengths in one title (three do) we used the structured length field, said so on the card, and made no claim about which figure is correct or about what is actually in the box.
This is the most important limit on the arithmetic here. HDMI signal integrity falls with distance; a long passive cable is not interchangeable with a short certified one at 4K 120Hz or 8K 60Hz; and beyond a certain run a cable has to become thicker, actively powered or optical, which is why the 20 m listing here costs 2.6x per metre what the 10 m does. A low per-metre rate is therefore NOT a recommendation and a high one is NOT a criticism. The unit is useful for comparing cables of similar length and for seeing what the short end of a shelf charges - nothing more. Buying more cable than your run needs is its own waste.
Every 'stated MRP' is the strike-through figure the tile prints. We have not established that any cable was offered or sold at that figure and we do not say any stated MRP is false, inflated or improper. Every percentage and multiple here is arithmetic over two numbers a seller chose. Where one brand badges 24% on one listing and 84% on another, that is reported as a fact about two tiles and implies nothing about the brand or the cables.
Four brands in this read publish one identical rating count across two different lengths - 2,844 on a 3 m and a 1 m, 2,915 on a 5 m and a 1.5 m, 371 on a 5 m and a 1.5 m, 2,742 on a 2 m and a 0.9 m. That is the normal signature of a marketplace grouping variants under one product page and nothing is wrong with it. The only consequence stated is the practical one: a count beside a short cable may be describing buyers of a long one. Three further listings were dropped at upload because their photograph was byte-for-byte identical to a longer cable from the same brand already seated, and that is noted rather than hidden. 30 of the 66 listings publish no rating at all.
'4K', '8K', '48Gbps', 'HDMI 2.1', 'Gold Plated', 'Copper Braiding', 'Metal Braided', 'Ultra High Speed', 'PVC' and every version number on this page are the listings' own printed words, reproduced as printed and not verified, measured, certified or tested by us. We did not buy, connect or run any cable. Nothing here is a statement about actual bandwidth, refresh rate support, HDCP, ARC/eARC, shielding, certification status, durability or fitness for any purpose, and a lower price per metre does not make a cable better or even adequate for your display.
In this read of 66 listings on 15 October 2026, the lowest price was Rs. 139, a 1.5 m MOBITECH carrying 3.7 stars from 152 ratings. Per metre it is Rs. 92.67, which is two and a half times the rate of the cheapest metre on the shelf — a 10 m cable at Rs. 369, or Rs. 36.90 a metre. If you need 1.5 m, the Rs. 139 is the floor of the shelf and the per-metre figure is not an argument against it. Prices change continuously, so check the live page.
Usually on this shelf, but not reliably, and not in a way that should decide a purchase. The four cables of 10 m or more in this read price at Rs. 36.90, Rs. 37.80, Rs. 42.10 and Rs. 96.35 a metre, against a shelf median of Rs. 121.33 — but that last one, a 20 m at Rs. 1,927, costs 2.6x per metre what the 10 m does. More importantly, length is not a neutral unit. HDMI signal integrity falls with distance; a long passive cable is not interchangeable with a short certified one at 4K 120Hz or 8K 60Hz; and past a certain run a cable has to be thicker, actively powered or optical. Buy the length your run needs and compare per metre within it.
Because a badge is arithmetic over two numbers on one tile, not a fact about a brand. The clearest example in this read: one brand's 5 m cable states an MRP of Rs. 549 against a Rs. 419 price and is badged 24%, while the same brand's 1.5 m states Rs. 899 against Rs. 148 and is badged 84%. Sixty percentage points apart, same company, same week. Another listing states Rs. 1,499 against a Rs. 164 price — a 9.14x multiple — on 18 published ratings. An MRP is the figure a listing displays; we have not verified that any cable was sold at it and we do not say any figure is false.
It is the usual signature of a marketplace grouping several variants under one product page, and nothing is wrong with it. Four brands in this read publish one identical rating count across two different lengths: 2,844 on both a 3 m and a 1 m, 2,915 on a 5 m and a 1.5 m, 371 on a 5 m and a 1.5 m, and 2,742 on a 2 m and a 0.9 m. Three further listings were dropped from this page because their photograph was byte-for-byte identical to a longer cable from the same brand. The practical consequence is the only claim made: the star and the count beside a short cable may be describing people who bought a long one. Separately, 30 of the 66 listings publish no rating at all.
We cannot tell you, and that is the honest answer. '4K', '8K', '48Gbps', 'HDMI 2.1', 'Gold Plated' and 'Ultra High Speed' on this page are the listings' own printed words, reproduced as printed and not verified, certified or tested by us. What this read can show is that the words appear at every price point: a Rs. 164 cable and a Rs. 888 cable both claim high-bandwidth support. The listings that name a concrete figure such as 48Gbps alongside a specific HDMI version are at least making a checkable claim rather than an adjective, which is why this page says to read the bandwidth tier first and compare per metre second.
