Prices & codes last verified September 18, 2026

We read Flipkart's blending aisle on 18 September 2026 and seated the 25 listings that publish a wattage. That number is what this category advertises, and it does not price anything: five mixer grinders here all state 500 watts and run from Rs. 1,328 to Rs. 3,945. Per 100 stated watts the page spans Rs. 30 to Rs. 2,217. At the bottom sits a Rs. 148 listing claiming 500 watts - more than the Rs. 2,199 Philips claims at 300 - and six listings whose 50 watts makes them whisks.

Every price below was pulled from Flipkart on September 18, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Flipkart coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.

“Five machines, one stated specification, a threefold price range. The watts on the box tell you what the seller typed, not what the motor is worth.” Zoutons Editorial Team

Four rules for buying a blender on Flipkart

First: decide what you are blending before you look at a price. Fifty watts whisks eggs and cream and nothing else; roughly 200 to 260 watts handles cooked food and soft fruit; 450 watts and up handles raw vegetables, nuts and ice. Six listings on this page state 50 watts and call themselves hand blenders, and buying one of those for dal is the commonest mistake in the category. Second: divide the price by the stated watts. Below about Rs. 150 per 100 watts the claim is doing the selling - one listing here asks Rs. 30 - and above about Rs. 700 you are paying for a brand and a warranty rather than for power. Third: read the badge backwards. The smallest claims on this page, 14 and 19 and 20 per cent, belong to Orpat, Havells and Philips, whose dealers would notice an invented list price; the largest, 82 and 85, belong to labels with no shops. Fourth: on a mixer grinder, buy the motor and the rating count, not the wattage. Every machine in the last chapter states 500 watts, so the only things separating them are build and evidence - and evidence here runs from 106 ratings to 69,452.

What we skipped — and why

What we skipped, and why: our four searches - juicer, hand blender, food chopper and electric kettle - returned 130 listings carrying both a price and a struck-through MRP. Only the motorised blending appliances that state a wattage in their own titles are seated here, because price per stated watt is the method of this page and a listing without a figure cannot be priced that way. That excluded the entire manual chopper shelf, which is a large share of these results and has no motor at all, and every electric kettle, which we have priced separately. We dropped every listing whose product photograph duplicated one already used, and we seated at most two listings per label rather than filling a chapter with one seller's variants - the 50-watt cluster alone had more members than the three seated. Nothing was excluded for carrying an implausible wattage claim: the Rs. 148 500-watt listing is seated and discussed, because it is the story.

What we look for

We price every listing per 100 watts it states in its own title

Every appliance seated here publishes a wattage, which makes one arithmetic comparison possible. It runs from Rs. 30 to Rs. 2,217 per 100 stated watts - a seventy-four-fold range on one shelf, where no single component varies by seventy-four times. Where the figure falls far below the pack it is telling you the wattage claim is unreliable rather than that the appliance is cheap, and where it sits far above it is telling you that you are paying for build, brand or warranty rather than power. Nothing here was plugged in, loaded or measured on a meter.

A stated wattage is a claim, and we treat it as one

One listing on this page states 500 watts at Rs. 148, which is a higher figure than the Rs. 2,199 Philips states at 300 and six times cheaper per claimed watt than anything else in the read. We have not opened it and we allege nothing about any seller; we are reporting that the number, the price and the product class cannot all be describing the same motor. The same caution applies at the other end: a 750-watt juicer at Rs. 1,402 with 18 ratings is a claim standing on almost no independent evidence.

We separate whisks from blenders, because the titles do not

Six listings here state 50 watts and several use the phrases 'hand blender' and 'electric whisk' in the same title for the same motor. Fifty watts will beat eggs, whip cream and mix batter; it will not blend cooked dal, crush ice or puree raw vegetables. That is the single most common way to buy the wrong appliance in this category, and the cards say plainly which each listing is. The step change is at roughly 200 to 260 watts, which on this page starts at Rs. 466.

We treat a crossed-out MRP as a claim, not a price anything sold at

Badges in this read run from 14 to 85 per cent and the spread tracks brand distribution almost perfectly. Orpat claims 14 per cent, Philips 20, Havells 19 and 23, Kent 25, Bajaj 34 - all brands whose own dealers would be undercut by an invented list price. The marketplace labels claim 82 and 85. And two sellers pricing the same stated 260 watts at an identical Rs. 495 crossed out Rs. 1,999 and Rs. 1,299, which is as clean a proof as this shelf offers that the ceiling is chosen rather than charged.

We do not print a rating pill over a sample too small to average

Five cards here carry fewer than 200 ratings - 18, 63, 106, 115 and 130 - and none of them shows a rating pill, with the count stated in the card text instead. One listing, at Rs. 3,990 the most expensive on the page, publishes no rating and no count at all, which its card says. Where a count is large we say how large, because on a motor it is the best available proxy for the thing you actually care about: how many of these were still working a year later. The Sansui's 69,452 is the largest figure in the read.

FAQs

Which hand blender should I buy on Flipkart right now?

On our 18 September read the Orpat 250W at Rs. 819 is the soundest buy: 4.3 from 34,550 ratings, an Indian manufacturer with a dealer network, and a 14 per cent discount claim - the smallest in the whole read, which is what an honest list price looks like. If you want more power, the Kent 450W at Rs. 1,649 adds a chopper bowl and carries 18,758 ratings at 4.2. If you only need a whisk for eggs and batter, the Bestlife 50W at Rs. 239 has 6,198 ratings.

How many watts does a hand blender need?

It depends entirely on what you put in it. Fifty watts - which six listings on this page state - will whip cream, beat eggs and mix a cake batter, and will stall on cooked dal. Two hundred to 260 watts handles soups, cooked vegetables and soft fruit, and starts at Rs. 466 here. Four hundred and fifty watts and up handles raw carrots, beetroot, nuts and ice; the Kent at Rs. 1,649 is the only branded stick on this page in that bracket. For a mixer grinder, 500 watts is the standard for Indian wet and dry grinding.

Why do two 500W mixer grinders cost Rs. 1,328 and Rs. 3,945?

Because wattage describes power draw, not build. The five 500W machines in our read cost Rs. 1,328, Rs. 1,355, Rs. 1,549, Rs. 2,099 and Rs. 3,945 - a threefold spread at one published specification. What varies is the motor winding and how long it survives grinding wet masala, the steel in the jars, the warranty and whether there is a dealer to take it to. None of that appears on the box. The most useful proxy is the rating count, which across those five ran from 106 to 69,452.

Is a Rs. 148 500W hand blender on Flipkart real?

The price and the claim do not fit together. Rs. 148 for a stated 500 watts works out at Rs. 30 per 100 watts, where the next-cheapest figure on this page is Rs. 179 and Philips charges Rs. 733. Five hundred watts is the power rating of a full mixer grinder, and the cheapest genuine 500W machine in our read costs Rs. 1,328. We have not opened the unit and allege nothing about the seller; we are saying the wattage in that title should be read as marketing rather than as a specification, and the 85 per cent badge alongside it the same way.

Is a hand blender or a mixer grinder better value?

They do different jobs. A hand blender goes into the pot, washes in seconds and is the right tool for soups, purees and batters; a mixer grinder has jars, grinds dry spices and wet masala, and is the appliance an Indian kitchen actually needs first. On price the mixer grinder is better value per watt here - Rs. 266 per 100 stated watts on the cheapest 500W machine against Rs. 328 for the Orpat stick - and it carries far more feedback. If you can only buy one, buy the mixer grinder.

How Zoutons picks deals Zoutons may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page. Every checkout price, struck-through MRP, discount percentage, rating average and rating count here was read on 18 September 2026 from flipkart.com's own search results across four queries - juicer, hand blender, food chopper and electric kettle. One hundred and thirty listings returned both a price and a stated MRP, and the 25 seated here are the motorised blending appliances stating a wattage in their own titles, chosen for price, power and brand spread after removing every listing whose product photograph duplicated one already used. Wattage figures throughout are the claims each listing prints in its own title; nothing here was plugged in, loaded, timed or measured on a meter, and every price-per-100-watts figure is arithmetic over the listing's own two numbers. Where we observe that a stated wattage does not fit a price, we are comparing it against the prices of comparable machines in the same read rather than against a measurement of that unit, and no wrongdoing by any platform, brand or seller is alleged or implied. An MRP is the figure the listing shows and we have not verified that anything sold at it, so every discount percentage here is arithmetic rather than a measured saving. Five listings carry fewer than 200 ratings and render no rating pill, and one publishes no rating at all; their cards say so. Motor life, warranty terms, service coverage, jar material and what any appliance can physically blend are not claimed here beyond what the listings state and what the stated wattage ordinarily implies. Flipkart prices change without notice and can differ at checkout after coupons or bank discounts are applied - re-check before paying.
