Croma's monitor shelf runs discounts of up to 74 per cent. Its printer shelf tops out at 38. We read 42 listings on 29 August 2026 — 21 of each — with their prices, stated MRPs and badges.
The printers are the more expensive shelf, with a median of Rs. 14,999 against Rs. 11,999 for monitors, and they discount at less than half the rate. There is a reason, and it decides how you should shop each one.

The printers cost more and discount less
We pulled Croma's own listing data for printers and monitors on 29 August 2026 and got 42 listings, split evenly at 21 each. Every price, stated MRP and badge below comes from those listings.
The two shelves behave in opposite ways, and not the way you would guess. The printers have the higher median price — Rs. 14,999 against Rs. 11,999 for monitors — and by a wide margin the shallower discounts, a median badge of 20 per cent against 45.
The monitor shelf also has far more spread in both directions: prices from Rs. 6,144 to Rs. 1,23,490 and badges from 5 to 74 per cent, against a printer range of Rs. 3,249 to Rs. 26,390 and 9 to 38 per cent. Monitors are where the drama is; printers are priced with a much steadier hand.

💡 Different shelves, different tactics. On monitors it is worth waiting for a badge, because they swing 70 points. On printers the badge barely moves, so the hardware price is close to fixed and the thing to compare is running cost.
Why a printer does not need a discount
The likeliest explanation for the gap is the oldest one in this industry, and the listings themselves hint at it. Ten of the 21 printers in our read are ink tank or smart tank models — HP Smart Tank, Canon Pixma G-series, Epson EcoTank — and the rest are inkjets or lasers. Every one of them needs consumables for as long as you own it.
A product that earns revenue after the sale does not need to be discounted to move. A monitor earns nothing after the sale, competes on a spec sheet anyone can read, and sits in a category where a dozen brands make near-identical 24-inch Full HD panels. That is a shelf where price is the only lever, and the badges show it.
We should be clear that this is our reading of the pattern rather than something Croma or any manufacturer states. What the data supports directly is narrower and still useful: on this storefront, printer hardware prices are stable and monitor prices are volatile, so the two deserve different shopping strategies.

₹ Two brands are doing most of the work. HP holds 18 of the 21 printer listings, at a 20 per cent median badge. Samsung holds 10 of the 21 monitor listings, at 48 per cent. So the category-level difference is also, to a large extent, an HP-versus-Samsung difference — a single dominant brand on each shelf setting the tone for it.
The monitor shelf, where the badges are real money
The ten deepest monitor cuts are below, and unlike a lot of discount tables the rupee amounts here are substantial because the prices are.
The largest badge is the Zebronics MT120 at 74 per cent — Rs. 6,999 against a stated Rs. 26,999. Treat that MRP with caution: a Rs. 26,999 list price on a 24-inch Full HD VA panel is far above what the category sells for, and the badge is doing more work than the product. The Samsung Odyssey G4 at 73 per cent, Rs. 11,764 from Rs. 42,800, invites the same scepticism.
The more informative entries are the mid-table ones, where the MRPs are plausible. The Samsung Essential 22-inch at Rs. 6,144 is the cheapest monitor in the read; the Samsung Essential S3 24-inch at Rs. 8,132 and the Croma F Series 27-inch at Rs. 10,280 are the kind of prices worth comparing against other storefronts. At the top, the Odyssey G9 49-inch at Rs. 86,599 and the M9 OLED at Rs. 1,23,490 are the shelf's two genuine flagships.

The printer shelf, where the sticker is the price
Printers, sorted cheapest first. The badges cluster so tightly that they carry almost no information — eleven of the twelve below sit between 10 and 31 per cent.
Entry-level is genuinely cheap: a Canon PIXMA TS307 at Rs. 3,249, an HP DeskJet 2820 at Rs. 5,329, a Canon Pixma E470 at Rs. 5,499. Note the badges on those — 10 and 15 per cent on the two Canons, because their MRPs are honest (Rs. 3,595 and Rs. 6,495) rather than inflated.
Then there is a gap. Nothing in our read sits between Rs. 6,799 and Rs. 12,829. Above that gap you are into ink tank and laser territory, and that is the real decision on this shelf: a Rs. 5,449 DeskJet costs a third of a Rs. 13,899 Smart Tank up front, and considerably more per page for the rest of its life. If you print more than occasionally, the tank models are where the arithmetic goes, and the hardware badge is irrelevant to that choice.

Are Croma monitor discounts real?
The rupee savings are real; some of the stated MRPs deserve scepticism. But the two deepest — the Zebronics MT120 at 74 per cent off a stated Rs. 26,999 and the Samsung Odyssey G4 at 73 per cent off Rs. 42,800 — carry list prices well above what those specifications generally sell for, so the percentage is inflated by the reference point rather than by the deal. The mid-table entries with plausible MRPs are the more useful ones: the Samsung Essential 22-inch at Rs. 6,144, the Essential S3 24-inch at Rs. 8,132, the Croma F Series 27-inch at Rs. 10,280.
Which is the cheapest monitor at Croma?
The cheapest in our 29 August 2026 read was the Samsung Essential 22-inch Full HD IPS at Rs. 6,144, 47 per cent off a stated Rs. 11,700. Next came the Zebronics MT120 24-inch at Rs. 6,999, the Croma 23.8-inch borderless at Rs. 7,490, the Samsung Essential S3 24-inch at Rs. 8,132 and the BenQ GW2490 23.8-inch at Rs. 8,750. That is five usable Full HD monitors under Rs. 9,000, which is where most of the volume in this category sits. Note that only 10 of the 42 listings we read carry a rating at all, so we cannot rank these by user experience and you should check reviews elsewhere, especially for the less familiar brands.
Should you buy an inkjet or an ink tank printer?
It turns on how much you print, and the hardware discount is irrelevant to the decision. In our read an entry inkjet like the HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 2989 cost Rs. 5,449 and an ink tank model like the HP Smart Tank 585 cost Rs. 13,899 — a difference of about Rs. 8,450 up front. Ink tank and EcoTank designs use refillable bottles rather than cartridges and cost dramatically less per page, so for regular printing the higher hardware price is usually recovered. For occasional home use — a few documents a month — the cheaper inkjet is the sensible buy and the cartridge cost never accumulates enough to matter. Work out your monthly page count first; that number decides it, not the badge.
