Amazon Business Account 2026: GST Invoice, Bulk Discounts and 10% Cashback

Amazon Business guide for the Great Indian Festival 2026: GST invoices, bulk prices and 10% cashback, with office and kitchen products

Zoutons Explains — Amazon Business

A free account, a GST invoice on every order and a business price on some of them. We checked how much each part is worth before the Great Indian Festival opens on October 8.

Prices & codes last verified October 4, 2026

The short answerAmazon Business is a free account for buyers with a GST number, Udyam registration, business PAN or FSSAI licence. Its festival page promises bulk discounts, GST invoices for input credit of up to 18%, and 10% assured cashback on the first three business purchases, with terms. In Amazon's own Business Savings Guide on October 4, 2026, business prices were 1% to 52% below the regular price across 48 products, with a median of about 8%. The Great Indian Festival starts on October 8, so the time to get verified is this week.

Every October a shop owner in Indore or a café manager in Kochi does the same thing: buys the new billing printer, the office chairs and forty Diwali gift hampers on a personal Amazon account, then spends November asking for GST invoices that never arrive in the right name. Amazon has built a separate account for exactly that buyer, and this week it is advertising it hard. The Amazon Business festival page ties the account to the Great Indian Festival, which its banner dates to October 8. We read the page on October 4, 2026, and then checked Amazon's own savings data to see what the account is worth in rupees.

What Amazon Business is offering before the sale

Three benefits on the banner, one of them with an asterisk.

Amazon Business is a separate type of Amazon.in account meant for organisations. It uses the same site, the same catalogue and the same delivery network. The festival page, headed “Smart business buying starts here”, lists three benefits under the line “Unlock extra savings on Amazon”:

  • Bulk discounts. The page's wording is “Buy more save more”: lower per-unit prices when you order several of the same item.
  • GST invoices. The page says you can claim up to 18% GST input. Orders are invoiced with your business name and GSTIN.
  • 10% assured cashback on your first three business purchases. This is the one line with an asterisk, and the page says terms and conditions apply.

Two more claims sit under the sign-up button: the eligibility check “takes less than 2 minutes” and there are “no extra charges”. The registration page itself calls it a free Amazon Business account, and adds free delivery on the first order and a spending dashboard for tracking purchases across your organisation.

What we could not confirmThe festival page does not print the cashback cap, the minimum order value or how the cashback is paid. Read the offer terms after you sign in, before you plan a large first order around it.

Who is eligible, and what you need to sign up

One of four documents, and you do not need to be a company.

The page is specific: you are eligible if you have any one of a GST registration, an Udyam registration, a business PAN or an FSSAI licence. That list is wider than most people assume. A freelancer with an Udyam number or a home baker with an FSSAI registration qualifies without a GSTIN.

Amazon names six kinds of buyer it has in mind: small business owners, retail shops, restaurants and cafés, offices and startups, professionals and consultants, and manufacturers and traders. Its “How it works” panel has four steps:

  1. Check eligibility. See if your business qualifies.
  2. Add business details. Enter your GST, Udyam, PAN or FSSAI details.
  3. Get verified. Amazon verifies the details.
  4. Start saving. You get business pricing, GST invoices and cashback.

Registration starts with an email address, and Amazon says a work email is preferred. One practical point: the account is created on behalf of your organisation, so use the email you want invoices sent to. The eligibility check is on Amazon's festival page.

How much do business prices save? We checked 48 products

From 1% to 52%, with a median of about 8%.

Amazon runs a public page called the Business Savings Guide. Each product on it shows two prices side by side, both including GST: the business price and the price a non-business account pays. On October 4, 2026, the guide listed 48 products. We recorded all of them.

  • The saving ranged from 1% to 52%.
  • The median was about 8%.
  • 22 of the 48 saved 10% or more.
  • 16 of the 48 saved 3% or less.

The large savings were mostly on low-priced consumables and supplies: mounting tape, food wrapping paper, thermal labels, car-care liquids. The small ones were concentrated in soaps, shampoos and face washes, and in products already priced keenly, such as a Casio calculator at Rs. 489 against Rs. 495. Fourteen examples from the guide:

ProductBusiness priceRegular priceSaving
Scotch Wall Safe tape, 10 mm x 16.5 mRs. 175Rs. 32546%
Oddy Uniwraps food wrapping paperRs. 49Rs. 8038%
SEZNIK 4x6 thermal label paper, 800 labelsRs. 500Rs. 69928%
Onsitego 1-year extended warranty, small appliancesRs. 348Rs. 44922%
Prestige non-stick dosa tawa, 27.5 cmRs. 736Rs. 90218%
TUSA Drive X car tyre inflatorRs. 2,424Rs. 2,89916%
Shalimar scented garbage bags, extra largeRs. 549Rs. 64915%
Milton Carafe 2000 steel flaskRs. 1,736Rs. 2,00313%
Ajanta analog wall clockRs. 160Rs. 18513%
Pigeon infrared cooktop, 2000 WRs. 2,199Rs. 2,3978%
Philips standing garment steamer STE1040/20Rs. 7,498Rs. 7,9996%
Prestige 5 L stainless steel pressure cookerRs. 2,775Rs. 2,8743%
Santoor soap, 125 g, pack of 6Rs. 193Rs. 1982%
Casio MJ-120D desktop calculatorRs. 489Rs. 4951%

The lesson is to check the business price product by product. For a restaurant buying wrapping paper every week, 38% is real money. For an office buying one calculator, Rs. 6 is not a reason to open an account. The GST invoice is.

What “claim up to 18% GST input” means on a real bill

It is the tax inside the price, and only GST-registered buyers can claim it.

Every price on Amazon includes GST. A GST-registered business that buys something for business use can usually claim that tax back as input tax credit, provided the invoice carries its GSTIN. Amazon Business exists largely to make that invoice automatic.

Take a laptop listed at Rs. 59,000 with GST at 18%. The price breaks down as Rs. 50,000 for the laptop and Rs. 9,000 of GST. If your business can claim the credit, the laptop costs you Rs. 50,000. Note the arithmetic: Rs. 9,000 is 18% of the base price but about 15% of the Rs. 59,000 you see on the listing. “Up to 18%” is also a ceiling, because many products carry a lower GST rate, and the credit is whatever rate applies to that product.

Three limits are worth knowing before you count on it:

  • You need a GSTIN. An Udyam number, business PAN or FSSAI licence gets you the account and the business prices, but input credit is a GST mechanism and is claimed in a GST return.
  • The purchase must be for the business. Goods bought for personal use do not qualify, and GST law blocks credit on some categories altogether.
  • The invoice must be right. The credit depends on the seller issuing a GST invoice with your GSTIN, so check that an item is marked as GST-invoice eligible before ordering.

Your accountant is the right person to confirm what your business can claim. This is the main reason to have the account in place before a sale: Amazon does not generally re-issue an invoice with a GSTIN once an order has been placed on a personal account. Our no-cost EMI guide covers the financing side if the purchase is large.

How it fits with the Great Indian Festival on October 8

The same sale, bought through a different account.

The business page's top banner reads “Great Indian Festival, Starts 8th Oct” with a “Deals Revealed” tag, and names Samsung Galaxy and Intel Core Ultra as sponsors. Below the sign-up panels it shows eight category tiles with headline offers:

Category on the business pageHeadline offer on the tile
ElectronicsUp to 85% off
LaptopsUp to 45% off
Stationery suppliesStarting Rs. 49
Kitchen appliancesUp to 50% off
Industrial suppliesUp to 70% off
Kitchen and diningUp to 40% off
Home appliancesUp to 70% off
Office essentialsUp to 60% off

These are “up to” figures on banner tiles, and every tile on the page leads to the sign-up form, so we could not check individual products behind them. Treat them as a guide to where Amazon expects business buyers to shop: laptops and electronics, stationery, kitchen equipment, industrial supplies and office essentials.

For actual revealed prices, our festival coverage tracks the consumer side of the same sale: the TV and appliance price list and the mobile price list. Amazon's festival page also advertises a 10% instant discount with SBI cards. The business page does not say whether that bank discount applies on top of a business price, so check the offer line at checkout before assuming the two combine.

What to do before October 8

Five steps, in order.

1. Get verified now. Amazon says the eligibility check takes under two minutes, but verification of your documents is a separate step. Do it this week so the account is live when prices drop.

2. Add your GSTIN and billing address exactly as registered. The invoice copies what is on the account. A mismatch in legal name or state is the usual reason an input credit claim fails.

3. Build the list on the business account. Open each product you plan to buy while signed in to the business account and note the business price. As the savings guide shows, it can be 1% or 40%.

4. Save the cashback for larger orders, once you have read the terms. The 10% applies to the first three business purchases only. If the terms set a cap, three small test orders would waste it.

5. Check quantity pricing before bulk orders. For gift hampers, stationery or packaging, look for the multi-unit price on the product page and compare the per-unit cost against buying singly.

If you also shop for the household, keep the personal account. Our Prime membership review covers what that side gets during the festival, and the Amazon sale calendar lists what follows it.

The GST invoice is the reliable benefit and the business price is the variable one. Half the products we checked saved 8% or less, and a third saved 3% or less.Zoutons Editorial

Frequently asked questions

Is an Amazon Business account free?

Yes. Amazon's registration page describes it as a free Amazon Business account, and the festival page states there are no extra charges. You pay only for what you order. The registration page also lists free delivery on your first order.

Who is eligible for Amazon Business in India?

According to Amazon's page, you are eligible if you have any one of a GST registration, an Udyam registration, a business PAN or an FSSAI licence. Amazon lists small business owners, retail shops, restaurants and cafes, offices and startups, professionals and consultants, and manufacturers and traders as the intended users.

How much can I save with Amazon Business prices?

It depends heavily on the product. Across the 48 products in Amazon's Business Savings Guide on October 4, 2026, the business price was 1% to 52% lower than the regular price, with a median of about 8%. Twenty-two products saved 10% or more and sixteen saved 3% or less.

What does 18% GST input on Amazon Business mean?

Amazon prices include GST. A GST-registered business buying for business use can usually claim that GST back as input tax credit when the invoice carries its GSTIN. On a Rs. 59,000 laptop taxed at 18%, the GST component is Rs. 9,000. The credit equals the GST rate on that product, so 18% is the maximum, and you need a GSTIN to claim it.

What is the Amazon Business 10% cashback offer?

The festival page advertises 10% assured cashback on your first three business purchases, marked with terms and conditions. The page did not show the cap, minimum order value or payout method when we checked on October 4, 2026, so read the offer terms in your account before placing a large order.

Zoutons may earn a commission when you sign up or buy through links on this page, at no extra cost to you. Offer details were read from Amazon.in's Amazon Business pages on October 4, 2026, and the price examples from Amazon's Business Savings Guide the same day; prices and offers change without notice, and the cashback is subject to Amazon's terms. The GST section is general information, not tax advice. Input credit depends on your registration and on what the purchase is used for, so confirm with your accountant.
