We pulled 113 kurta set, dupatta and palazzo listings from AJIO's own search on 30 August 2026. Dupattas start at Rs. 81, palazzos at Rs. 180, and nothing on the shelf costs more than Rs. 1,219.
The number worth knowing before you shop: a median dupatta plus a median palazzo comes to Rs. 671, while the median complete kurta set — kurta, bottom and often a dupatta — is Rs. 650.

📅 Update log:
30 Aug 2026 — first published. All 113 listings, with every selling price, stated MRP and discount badge, were read from ajio.com's own search endpoint on 30 August 2026 for the queries 'kurta set', 'dupatta' and 'palazzo', as returned to a logged-out visitor browsing from India. Medians, ranges, counts, per-brand summaries and the set-versus-separates comparison are our arithmetic over AJIO's published figures and are labelled as such; that comparison is between medians across a shelf rather than between two specific garments. No listing in this pull carried a rating or a review count, so no quality signal is reported. We re-read this shelf and log what changes.
The complete set costs less than two of its pieces
We pulled every kurta set, dupatta and palazzo AJIO's own search returned on 30 August 2026 — 113 listings in all, each with a price, a stated MRP and a badge. The median dupatta sells at Rs. 315 and the median palazzo at Rs. 356.
Add those two and you get Rs. 671. The median kurta set on the same shelf — a kurta plus a bottom, and in many listings a dupatta as well — sells at Rs. 650.
So buying the dupatta and the palazzo separately costs about Rs. 20 more than a complete set that also includes the kurta. That is the single most useful thing in this data: if you are assembling an outfit piece by piece on this shelf, check what a set costs first, because the arithmetic is probably against you.
| Garment | Listings | Cheapest | Dearest | Median price | Median badge | Under Rs. 500 |
|---|
| Dupatta (one piece) | 35 | Rs. 81 | Rs. 792 | Rs. 315 | 58% | 28 of 35 |
| Palazzo (one piece) | 33 | Rs. 180 | Rs. 666 | Rs. 356 | 65% | 31 of 33 |
| Kurta set (two or three pieces) | 45 | Rs. 299 | Rs. 1,219 | Rs. 650 | 78% | 11 of 45 |
💡 The exception is when you already own the rest. Buying a single dupatta to refresh a kurta you already have is the one case where separates clearly win - 28 of the 35 dupattas here sell under Rs. 500, and the cheapest is Rs. 81. What the arithmetic argues against is building a whole outfit one listing at a time.
The badge counts garments, not rupees
Line the three garment types up by discount and they climb in a straight line with the number of pieces in the listing. One-piece dupattas run a median badge of 58 per cent. One-piece palazzos run 65. Kurta sets, which are two or three garments, run 78 per cent.
That is not a coincidence and it is not generosity. A set has more fabric in it, so the seller declares a bigger MRP — Rs. 1,995, Rs. 2,250, Rs. 4,500 — and the percentage is calculated from that bigger number. The kurta set with the deepest badge on the shelf, a Nyrika at 88 per cent, states an MRP of Rs. 4,500 and sells at Rs. 540.
Read the percentage as a description of the MRP that was typed in, not of how good the listing is. The selling price is the only figure on this shelf that anyone pays.

The house label is the cheapest thing here and the least discounted
AVAASA MIX N' MATCH — Reliance's own in-house label, and AJIO's biggest presence on this shelf with 18 listings — runs a median badge of 49 per cent, the shallowest of any brand with more than three listings. It also runs the lowest median price on the shelf at Rs. 254.
That combination is the tell. A house label does not need to inflate an MRP to look generous, because it controls the price directly: it lists a Rs. 299 dupatta at Rs. 152 and calls it 49 per cent, and both numbers are plausible.
Compare that with ZWERLON X AG, which lists three flared palazzos at Rs. 291 against a stated MRP of Rs. 2,641 — an 89 per cent badge and, on the face of it, Rs. 2,350 off a pair of palazzos. Nobody was ever charged Rs. 2,641 for those. It is the same pattern we found on AJIO's track pant shelf this month, and it is worth recognising rather than being flattered by.

| Kurta set | SVARAA | Rs. 518 | Rs. 3,700 | 86% |
| Palazzos | Vogaan | Rs. 364 | Rs. 2,599 | 86% |
₹ What Rs. 291 is really competing with. The ZWERLON palazzos at Rs. 291 are not competing with a Rs. 2,641 garment. They are competing with an Aura Glam palazzo at Rs. 180, a LIMEROAD one at Rs. 212 and a Valles365 one at Rs. 288 - all on the same shelf, all one click away. That is the comparison that decides whether Rs. 291 is a good price.
How we read this, and what it does not tell you
These 113 listings came from ajio.com's own search endpoint on 30 August 2026, for the queries 'kurta set', 'dupatta' and 'palazzo', taken as returned to a logged-out visitor browsing from India. Every price, stated MRP and badge is AJIO's own figure as displayed that day. Medians, ranges, counts, per-brand summaries and the set-versus-separates comparison are our arithmetic over those figures and are described as such.
The set-versus-separates comparison is a comparison of medians across a shelf, not of one specific outfit: a Rs. 650 set and a Rs. 671 pair of separates will not be in the same fabric, colour or cut, and a set's dupatta is chosen for you. It tells you where the shelf sits, not which garment to buy. Beyond that, this page cannot tell you whether any of these is any good - not one of the 113 listings carried a rating or a review count, and we have not handled, worn or washed any of them. Ethnic wear is also the category where fit, fabric weight and how a print photographs vary most from the listing image. Sizes, stock and prices change constantly, and coupon codes apply on top at checkout.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much do dupattas and palazzos cost on AJIO in August 2026?
In our 30 August 2026 read of 113 listings, dupattas ran from Rs. 81 to Rs. 792 with a median of Rs. 315, and 28 of the 35 sold under Rs. 500. Palazzos ran from Rs. 180 to Rs. 666 with a median of Rs. 356, and 31 of the 33 sold under Rs. 500. Kurta sets, being two or three garments, sat higher at Rs. 299 to Rs. 1,219 with a median of Rs. 650. Across all 113 listings the median was Rs. 428 and nothing exceeded Rs. 1,219, so this is a shelf that fits almost entirely inside a Rs. 1,200 ceiling. Coupon-code discounts apply on top at checkout.
Is it cheaper to buy a kurta set or the pieces separately on AJIO?
On this shelf the set wins, and by more than it first appears. The median dupatta at Rs. 315 plus the median palazzo at Rs. 356 comes to Rs. 671, while the median kurta set - which includes a kurta and a bottom, and in many listings a dupatta as well - sells at Rs. 650. So two separates cost slightly more than a complete three-piece outfit. The one case where separates clearly win is when you already own the rest and want a single piece: a dupatta to go with a kurta you already have starts at Rs. 81. Note this compares medians across a shelf, not two specific garments; a set's fabric, colour and dupatta are chosen for you.
Why do AJIO kurta sets show bigger discounts than dupattas?
Because the badge is calculated from a stated MRP, and a set has more garments in it, so the seller declares a bigger MRP. In our read, one-piece dupattas ran a median badge of 58 per cent, one-piece palazzos 65 per cent and two- or three-piece kurta sets 78 per cent. The deepest kurta set badge, a Nyrika at 88 per cent, states an MRP of Rs. 4,500 against a selling price of Rs. 540. The percentage is therefore tracking how many garments are in the bag rather than how keenly the listing is priced. Compare selling prices across listings and treat the percentage as a description of the MRP, not of your saving.
Which AJIO ethnic brand is cheapest?
AVAASA MIX N' MATCH, which is Reliance's own in-house label and the largest single presence on this shelf with 18 of the 113 listings. It ran the lowest median price at Rs. 254 and, tellingly, the shallowest median badge at 49 per cent - the two go together, because a house label controls its price directly and has no reason to inflate an MRP. Its cheapest dupatta listed at Rs. 81. Among the other brands, Akshadeep (median Rs. 346) and Valles365 (median Rs. 348) were the next lowest. The brands with the biggest badges - ZWERLON X AG at 89 per cent, KASHIANXSTYLE at 88 - were not the cheapest, which is the point.
Can you tell which AJIO ethnic wear is good quality?
Not from this data, and we will not pretend otherwise. None of the 113 listings we read carried a star rating or a review count, so there is no quality signal on the page at all, and we have not handled, worn or washed any of these garments. Ethnic wear is also the category where the gap between a listing photograph and the garment that arrives tends to be widest: fabric weight, how a print sits, dupatta length and how a palazzo falls are all things a flat-lay or model shot can flatter. On a shelf where the median item costs Rs. 428, the sensible protections are the return and exchange policy and the size chart - and buying one before buying three.
Prices & codes last verified: 30 August 2026
Every selling price, stated MRP and discount badge on this page was read from ajio.com's own search data on 30 August 2026, for the queries 'kurta set', 'dupatta' and 'palazzo', as displayed to a logged-out visitor browsing from India, and is reported as published. A stated MRP is a maximum retail price the seller declares; it is not evidence that any garment was sold at that figure, and on several listings here it plainly was not, so every discount percentage on this page is arithmetic over the seller's own two numbers rather than a measured saving. Medians, ranges, counts, per-brand summaries and the set-versus-separates comparison are our own arithmetic over AJIO's published figures rather than figures AJIO states; that comparison sets the median of one group against the median of another across a whole shelf and is not a comparison of two specific garments, which will differ in fabric, colour, cut and included pieces. None of the 113 listings carried a rating or a review count, so nothing here reports fabric quality, fit, durability, colourfastness, dupatta length or sizing accuracy; we have not handled, worn or washed any of these garments, no brand named here was contacted, and none reviewed or approved this page. This is what three searches returned on one day and is not the whole of AJIO's ethnic wear range; stock, sizes, colours and prices change constantly, and coupon-code discounts apply on top at checkout, so the price in your basket is the one that applies. Zoutons may earn a commission if you buy through links on this page; it does not change what you pay.
