Men's sweatshirts priced in this September 2026 read of AJIO and Myntra listings - both MISCHIEF MONKEY listings at Rs. 744 on Myntra and Rs. 781 on AJIO, a Buda Jeans Co hoodie at Rs. 290 on AJIO and an H&M zip-through at Rs. 1,499 on Myntra - shown as they appear in their own listing photographs

Two shelves, one garment, read within an hour of each other on 30 September 2026. AJIO's 30 men's sweatshirt listings have a median price of Rs. 588; Myntra's 32 have a median of Rs. 861. AJIO has twelve listings under Rs. 500 to Myntra's one. On price alone this is not close.

But AJIO's bigger discount badge is not what makes it cheaper - its stated MRPs are actually higher. And there is one difference that is not cosmetic at all: AJIO publishes no customer rating on a single one of its 30 listings. Below: the full comparison, the one brand selling on both shelves and why it points the other way, and where each site is genuinely the better place to look.

📅 Update log:
30 September 2026 — first published. Both shelves were read the same morning: 42 listings from ajio.com's own search response for 'sweatshirts' and 32 from myntra.com's own listing payload for /men-sweatshirts, deduped on Myntra's product id - both logged out, in India, with nothing purchased. Twelve of AJIO's 42 results are boys' or women's styles and were excluded before any comparison was computed, leaving 30 men's and unisex listings; Myntra's shelf contained none. Every price, stated MRP, badge, star average and rating count on this page was read on that date.

AJIO's men's sweatshirt shelf is Rs. 273 cheaper at the median

Both shelves were read within an hour of each other on the morning of 30 September 2026, logged out, in India, with nothing purchased. Before any comparison: AJIO's search for 'sweatshirts' returns a mixed shelf - four boys' hoodies and eight women's styles among 42 results - and those were the cheapest tiles on it. Everything below compares AJIO's 30 men's and unisex listings with Myntra's 32 men's listings. Myntra's shelf contained no women's or children's items.

On that like-for-like basis, AJIO's median men's sweatshirt is Rs. 588 and Myntra's is Rs. 861 - a gap of Rs. 273, or 32%. The shape of the two shelves differs more than the medians suggest: 12 of AJIO's 30 listings sell under Rs. 500, against 1 of Myntra's 32, while 12 of Myntra's 32 sell above Rs. 1,200 against 3 of AJIO's 30.

The obvious explanation would be that AJIO discounts harder - its median badge is 70% against Myntra's 61%. That is not what is happening. AJIO's median stated MRP is Rs. 2,462, which is HIGHER than Myntra's Rs. 2,249. The badge is bigger because the MRP is bigger, at a median 3.33 times the selling price against Myntra's 2.58 times. It is a coincidence on this pair of shelves that the larger percentage and the lower price happen to travel together.

The one-line version: AJIO is the cheaper men's sweatshirt shelf by Rs. 273 at the median and has twelve listings under Rs. 500 where Myntra has one. Myntra costs more and is the only one of the two that lets you see what previous buyers thought.

AJIO published no rating on any of its 30 men's listings

This is not a gap in our reading. Not one of AJIO's 30 men's sweatshirt listings carried a star average or a rating count - the fields are simply empty in AJIO's own search response. We have found the same on AJIO's sock, belt, cap, umbrella, sandal and bath-linen shelves, so it appears to be how the site works rather than a quirk of this category.

Myntra, on the same morning, published a rating on 23 of its 32 listings, at a median of 377 ratings and a median star average of 4.16. The largest count was 46,838. For a garment whose real questions are whether it holds its shape and whether the size chart is honest, that is a meaningful difference in what a shopper has to go on.

One qualification we would rather give than let the figure stand unexamined: Myntra's counts are pooled across linked listings. The same 4,494 appears on three separate MISCHIEF MONKEY tiles and 23,263 on two H&M ones, so a count describes a product family rather than one garment. Treat each shared count as one crowd. It is still 23 more published counts than the other shelf offers.

The one brand on both shelves is cheaper on Myntra

Exactly one label appears on both shelves in this read, and it points the opposite way to everything above. MISCHIEF MONKEY sells four men's sweatshirts on Myntra at Rs. 744 to Rs. 753, all at a 71% badge against a stated MRP of Rs. 2,599. The same brand sells two on AJIO at Rs. 781 and Rs. 820, at 68% and 67%. So on the only name you can match, Myntra is Rs. 28 to Rs. 67 cheaper and shows the larger percentage as well.

The Myntra listings also publish 1,717 to 4,494 ratings each; the AJIO pair publish none. We should be careful about how far this goes: these are different garments within one brand - a regular-fit sweatshirt and an oversized hoodie on AJIO against mock-collar and hooded pullovers on Myntra - so this is a brand comparison and not a like-for-like. We have not handled any of the six.

It is worth stating plainly because it is the part of this page a shopper can act on most directly. The shelf-wide medians say go to AJIO for a cheap sweatshirt. The one matched brand says that if you have settled on a specific label, check both sites rather than assuming the cheaper shelf is the cheaper price.

Myntra's no-discount listings are its most expensive ones

Five of Myntra's 32 listings advertise no discount at all, and all five are at the top of its price range: four H&M hoodies at Rs. 1,499 and a People sweatshirt at Rs. 1,299. Rs. 1,499 is the highest price on Myntra's shelf. So a shopper sorting Myntra by discount would never be shown its dearest garments, which is arguably the correct outcome but not for the reason the sort implies.

AJIO's shelf has no listing below 30% off. Its floor is 30% and its ceiling is 88%, against Myntra's 0% to 83%. A shelf where nothing is ever full price is a shelf where the badge carries no information at all, because there is nothing for it to distinguish.

Where AJIO is genuinely and usefully cheaper is at the bottom. Its cheapest men's listing is Rs. 290 against Myntra's Rs. 496, and it has twelve listings under Rs. 500 to Myntra's one. If your budget for a sweatshirt is three figures and starts with a 2 or a 3, only one of these two shelves has anything for you.

How we would use the two sites: AJIO for anything under Rs. 600, where Myntra has almost no stock at all. Myntra above Rs. 700, where the extra money buys you a published rating count and, on the one brand selling in both places, a lower price as well.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is AJIO or Myntra cheaper for men's sweatshirts?
AJIO, at the median, on the morning of 30 September 2026. Comparing AJIO's 30 men's and unisex listings with Myntra's 32 men's listings, AJIO's median price was Rs. 588 and Myntra's Rs. 861 - a 32% gap. AJIO also had 12 listings under Rs. 500 to Myntra's 1, and its cheapest was Rs. 290 against Myntra's Rs. 496. The important exception: on MISCHIEF MONKEY, the only brand selling on both shelves, Myntra was Rs. 28 to Rs. 67 cheaper. Shelf medians and specific brands are different questions.
Why does AJIO show bigger discounts than Myntra?
Because its stated MRPs are bigger, not because its prices are lower relative to them. AJIO's median stated MRP on this shelf was Rs. 2,462 against Myntra's Rs. 2,249, and its median MRP multiple was 3.33 times the selling price against Myntra's 2.58 times. That arithmetic produces a 70% median badge against 61%. A discount badge is the gap between two numbers the seller chose, so a larger badge can sit on a higher price just as easily as a lower one. On this particular pair of shelves it happens to sit on the lower price, which is coincidence rather than a rule.
Does AJIO show customer ratings on sweatshirts?
Not on any of the 30 men's listings in this read. None of them published a star average or a rating count, and the fields are empty in AJIO's own search response. We have found the same across AJIO's socks, belts, caps, umbrellas, sandals and bath linen. Myntra published a rating on 23 of its 32 listings the same morning, at a median of 377 ratings and 4.16 stars, with a largest count of 46,838. This is not a claim that AJIO collects no reviews - only that its listing shelf did not display any.
What is the cheapest men's sweatshirt on these two sites?
In this read, a Rs. 290 regular-fit graphic hoodie on AJIO was the cheapest men's listing across both shelves; Myntra's cheapest was Rs. 496. AJIO's 30 men's listings ran from Rs. 290 to Rs. 1,819 and Myntra's 32 from Rs. 496 to Rs. 1,499. One caution on AJIO's shelf: its 'sweatshirts' search also returns boys' hoodies from Rs. 260, which are not men's sizes - four of the 42 results we saw. Check the title before assuming a very low price is an adult garment.
Are Myntra's sweatshirt ratings trustworthy?
They are real published counts, but several are pooled across linked listings and should be read that way. In this read the identical count of 4,494 appeared on three separate MISCHIEF MONKEY listings and 23,263 on two H&M ones, so those numbers describe a product family rather than the single garment on the tile. Marketplaces commonly pool reviews across colours and fits, and no wrongdoing is implied. The practical response is to treat a shared count as one crowd and never to add such counts together - and to read the count beside the star average, since a 4.16 from 377 people and a 4.16 from 7 are not the same evidence.

Zoutons may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page. Affiliate links here point to Myntra; AJIO prices are reported as facts and are not affiliate links. Every selling price, stated MRP, discount badge, star average and rating count was read on 30 September 2026 - 42 listings from ajio.com's own search response for 'sweatshirts' and 32 from myntra.com's own listing payload for the /men-sweatshirts shelf, deduped on Myntra's own product id - both logged out, in India, with nothing purchased. AJIO's search returns a mixed shelf: four boys' hoodies and eight women's styles among those 42 results were identified from the listings' own titles and excluded before any figure on this page was computed, leaving 30 men's and unisex listings; that exclusion is based on the printed title alone and a garment whose title does not state a gender or age group is counted as men's or unisex. Every count, median, range and multiple on this page describes those 62 compared listings on that date rather than either retailer's full catalogue, and a sweatshirt sold on either site that did not appear in these results does not appear here. Search results and listing shelves are partly personalised and change continuously, so a different reader will not see the same set. The statement that AJIO published no rating describes the fields returned by its own search response for these listings on that date; it is not a claim that AJIO collects no reviews, nor any criticism of its conduct. An MRP is the figure the listing displays and we have not verified that any product sold at it, so every percentage here is arithmetic over two numbers the seller chose rather than a measured saving; stating a high MRP, and stating an MRP equal to the selling price, are both legal and commonplace across Indian retail, and no wrongdoing by AJIO, by Reliance Retail Limited, by Myntra Designs Private Limited, or by MISCHIEF MONKEY, H&M, People, Roadster, WROGN, Buda Jeans Co or any other brand or seller named or unnamed is alleged or implied. The MISCHIEF MONKEY comparison sets different garments from one brand against each other - regular-fit and oversized styles on AJIO against mock-collar and hooded pullovers on Myntra - and is labelled a brand comparison rather than a like-for-like; no claim is made that any two of those six items are the same product. Where several Myntra listings display an identical rating count we describe what the tiles showed - marketplaces pool reviews across linked listings - and draw no conclusion about any seller's conduct; such counts are never added together here. Fits, fabrics, GSM, 'oversized', 'relaxed fit', 'regular fit', cotton content and every other description quoted here are the listings' own printed text, reproduced as printed and not verified. We did not buy, unbox, try on or wear any garment on this page; sizing accuracy, fit, warmth, fabric weight, shrinkage, colourfastness, pilling, returns and warranty experience have not been examined by us and no claim about them is made or implied. Product photographs are the listings' own images as published by each retailer and may be styled or retouched. Prices change without notice and can differ at checkout after coupons, bank offers or delivery charges; the price shown at your checkout prevails over anything here.
