A hundred and two listings read on 3 October. The cleanest evidence that a badge means nothing comes from a single brand's own shoe rack.
Festive ethnic wear is the category where discount badges work hardest, so this shelf is a good place to see what they are made of. Myntra returned 102 men's ethnic listings on 3 October, and one brand settles the question on its own: FAUSTO holds 40 of the 43 juttis here, prices six of them between Rs. 1,199 and Rs. 1,699, and prints four different stated MRPs against them — Rs. 1,299, Rs. 2,499, Rs. 3,999 and Rs. 4,499. The badges that come out are 8%, 45%, 44%, 67%, 64% and 58%. Same brand, same shelf, same afternoon. Every card below prints the multiple alongside the badge, and the rating count alongside the star.
Every price below was pulled from Myntra on October 3, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Myntra coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.

Why it earned its spot One of the three non-FAUSTO juttis on the shelf, with the deepest footwear multiple.
A pair of silk dhoti pants at Rs. 1,999.
Why it earned its spot The only listing in the read claiming no discount at all.
First: read the stated MRP, not the badge. FAUSTO's six seated juttis cost between Rs. 1,199 and Rs. 1,699 and claim between 8% and 67% off, because the brand prints four different list prices across a Rs. 500 band of actual prices. Within one brand, the badge is a labelling decision. Second: read the rating count before the star. The highest average in this read is a 5.0 on six ratings; the largest sample is 12,112 at 4.4, on a Rs. 607 kurta. Four seated listings publish no rating at all, and the one with the deepest badge on the page — 84% — is among them. Third: check whether you are buying a dhoti or a dhoti pant, and whether a kurta states its fabric. Wrapped and stitched dhotis sit at overlapping prices here without the search distinguishing them, and only two seated listings state pure cotton in the title at all. Fourth: do not read a shallow badge as a bad deal. The two listings here under a 1.3x stated multiple include a Rs. 479 kurta and, in footwear, the Rs. 1,199 jutti that carries 476 ratings — twenty times the sample of the 67%-badge shoe from the same brand costing Rs. 300 more. Every fabric word on this page is the listing's own.

Each selling price, stated MRP, discount badge, star average and rating count on this page was parsed on 3 October 2026 from myntra.com's own window.__myx payload on three listing pages - men-mojaris-and-juttis, men-ethnic-wear and men-kurtas - logged out, in India, with nothing purchased. 102 listings came back and 22 are seated. Myntra publishes star averages to many decimal places; we round to one and reproduce counts exactly.
Fifteen seated listings are clothing - kurtas, dhotis, dhoti pants - and seven are footwear. Every card and spec strip says which, and no comparison on this page sets a jutti against a kurta on price, because the two have nothing to do with each other. The FAUSTO finding in Chapter Three is made entirely within one brand's own footwear range for the same reason.
Dividing the stated MRP by the selling price gives the figure the badge is built on, and on this shelf it ranges from 1.00x to 6.32x. The point of printing both is visible in FAUSTO's own range: six listings whose prices sit inside a Rs. 500 band carry four different stated MRPs from Rs. 1,299 to Rs. 4,499, which produces badges from 8% to 67%. Same brand, same shelf, same afternoon.
The samples on this shelf range from 12,112 ratings down to six, and four seated listings publish none at all. The highest average in the read, a 5.0, rests on six ratings; the largest sample, 12,112, averages 4.4. This page prints the count in every spec strip and refuses to treat a five-star average on six ratings as comparable evidence to a 4.4 on twelve thousand.
'Pure cotton', 'chanderi silk', 'dupion silk', 'velvet', 'jacquard', 'sequinned', 'embroidered', 'mirror work', 'thread work', 'laser cut' and 'height increasing' are the listings' own printed text, reproduced as printed. We did not buy, unpack, wear, walk in, wash or measure a single item on this page, and nothing here says any kurta or jutti is better made, better fitting, more comfortable or longer lasting than any other.
In this read of 102 listings on 3 October 2026, the cheapest was Rs. 400 — a printed mirror-work jacquard kurta carrying 132 ratings at 4.2. The second-cheapest, at Rs. 467, publishes 2,087 ratings, which is a far larger sample for Rs. 67 more. Myntra's listing prices change continuously and vary with coupons and bank offers applied at checkout, so this describes what these listing pages returned on that date and nothing more.
Because the badge is calculated against a list price the brand prints on each listing, and FAUSTO prints several. Its Rs. 1,199 jutti states an MRP of Rs. 1,299, which gives an 8% badge. Its Rs. 1,499 jutti states Rs. 4,499, which gives 67%. Across six seated listings priced between Rs. 1,199 and Rs. 1,699 the brand uses four different stated MRPs: Rs. 1,299, Rs. 2,499, Rs. 3,999 and Rs. 4,499. The prices move 42%; the stated list prices move 246%. Since this is one brand on one shelf on one afternoon, brand positioning cannot explain the gap. We are describing published numbers and not suggesting anything improper about any seller's pricing.
On this shelf, on this date, seated prices ran Rs. 1,199 to Rs. 1,699 — a narrow band, because one brand holds 40 of the 43 listings and prices its range tightly. The best-evidenced was the Rs. 1,199 slip-on with 476 ratings at 4.2; the best-rated was the Rs. 1,399 laser-cut pair at 4.4 from 108 ratings. The Rs. 1,207 listing from a different brand states a height-increasing block heel, which is the one genuine construction difference among the seated footwear. We did not wear or test any of them.
No, and this shelf sells both at overlapping prices without the search results distinguishing them. A dhoti is wrapped; a dhoti pant is stitched and elasticated with a drawstring, and the listings say which in their own titles. In this read the cheapest wrapped dhoti was Rs. 617 in stated dupion silk with 98 ratings, and a stitched dhoti pant at Rs. 676 carried six ratings. The dearest listing on the whole page, a Rs. 1,999 silk dhoti pant, is also the only one claiming no discount at all. Every fabric name here is the listing's own and we did not test fibre content.
Not on this shelf. The deepest badge in this read, 84% off a stated Rs. 6,499, belongs to a Rs. 1,028 kurta that publishes no rating and no rating count at all. The only listing claiming 0% off is the Rs. 1,999 silk dhoti pant — the most expensive thing on the page — and it carries 194 ratings. Two adjacent kurtas at Rs. 479 and Rs. 499 print badges 47 points apart and neither publishes a single rating. The badge describes the gap between two numbers the seller chose; the rating count describes what buyers reported. This page prints both on every card so they can be read together.
