M&S India's shelf runs on six fixed discount rates — and the same bralette costs Rs. 500 in A-E sizes and Rs. 1,999 in F-H.

Prices & codes last verified July 31, 2026

We read seventy-six in-stock womenswear, kids' and lingerie listings from Marks & Spencer India's own site on July 31, 2026, and the shelf turned out to run on exactly six discount rates. Sixty per cent covers forty-six listings — more than half the read, which makes it less a sale than the store's resting state. Seventy per cent covers thirteen, fifty covers nine, twenty covers six, and at the two ends sit a lone eighty and a lone fifteen, one listing each. No seventh value appears anywhere. A shelf like this is priced by policy, and the way to read a policy is to hold one variable still — so we followed a single declared MRP through the whole machine. Sixteen listings state the identical Rs. 2,499, and they sell at five prices: Rs. 500, Rs. 750, Rs. 1,000, Rs. 1,250 and Rs. 1,999. Same tier, five rungs, and the garment's category decides its rung — fashion basics descend fastest, dresses hold the middle, and functional lingerie barely moves. Which brings us to the finding this page is really about. The Flexifit lace non-wired bralette appears in our read twice: once in standard A-E cup sizes at Rs. 500, eighty per cent off, and once in F-H cup sizes at Rs. 1,999, twenty per cent off. The same garment, the same lace, the same declared Rs. 2,499 — and the size range alone multiplies the price by four. The commercial logic is reconstructable: fuller-cup stock is scarcer and sells through without help, so it never enters clearance. But the effect on the customer's side is blunt — the shopper with the least choice in the lingerie market pays the most, structurally, and neither listing so much as links to the other. Elsewhere the ladder is kinder. The seventy per cent rack is where the trend stock clears, and this season that means linen — a bandeau mini dress at Rs. 1,422, printed relaxed trousers at Rs. 1,140, a lyocell drop-waist midi at Rs. 1,050. The sixty rack is the store itself: Hawaiian shirts, belted cotton trousers, a Rs. 2,000 circle skirt, kids' rugby tops, all at one flat rate. Our earlier reads of M&S discount codes and the first-order offer cover what stacks on top of these prices.

Every price below was pulled from Marks & Spencer on July 31, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Marks & Spencer coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.

How to shop a store that prices on a six-rate ladder

Four rules from a 76-listing read with exactly six discount values. First: treat the badge as a rung, not a verdict. On a fixed-rate shelf the percentage tells you where a garment sits in the store's clearance cycle — 20% means current stock starting its descent, 60% is the default state, 70-80% is the last call. The same Rs. 2,499 MRP sells at five prices depending on nothing but the rung. Second: if a garment you want sits at 20%, you are choosing between paying now and betting your size survives to a deeper rung — for standard sizes in distinctive styles, waiting has decent odds; for fuller-cup lingerie and functional pieces, the ladder's own record says the descent never comes, so waiting is just waiting. Third: check size-range variants of the same product name before paying. The Flexifit bralette costs Rs. 500 in A-E and Rs. 1,999 in F-H on the same day, and an E-cup shopper who lands on the wrong listing pays four times the going rate for her own size. Search the product name, read every result — the ten-second habit that keeps earning on every shelf we audit. Fourth: spend the deep rungs on cloth, not categories. The 70% rack's linen and lyocell at Rs. 1,050-1,422 is where M&S fabric quality meets clearance pricing, and the half-price tailoring at Rs. 4,000 fills a gap the Indian market otherwise leaves empty between fast fashion and Rs. 12,000 mall suits. Our M&S coupon page tracks live codes, and our codes-today page covers the checkout stack.

What we skipped — and why

What we skipped, and why: the rest of the Rs. 2,499 tier we rode in chapter one — the floral cropped lounge shirt, metallic knitted top, striped tee, gingham kids' outfit and leopard kids' dress, all at Rs. 1,000 and 60%, plus the smocked bikini bottoms at the same rung and the post-surgery bra at Rs. 1,250, whose 50% rung its own chapter explains. The 70% rack's louder pieces: the embellished mini shift at Rs. 1,580, embroidered metallic trousers at Rs. 2,550 — the read's priciest womenswear — the animal-print pleated midaxi at Rs. 1,350, the velvet pair at Rs. 750 and Rs. 1,264, the raw-edge linen shirt at Rs. 1,422 that pairs with our bandeau dress, the beaded beach shirt and lace blouse at Rs. 948 each (the blouse's image returned a 404 at press time, which cost it a slot), and the jersey animal midaxi at Rs. 1,050. The 60% rack's depth: the cutwork beach trousers at Rs. 2,800, beaded bandeau at Rs. 2,400, cutout beach dress at Rs. 1,800, embroidered shirt at Rs. 1,600, shirred maxi skirt at Rs. 1,600, smart elasticated trousers at Rs. 1,475, and the whole kids' shelf from Rs. 520 chino shorts to the Rs. 1,400 embroidered jumpsuit — eleven kids' listings, every one at exactly 60%. The 50% rung's remainder: the checked suit jacket at Rs. 4,500, padded bra at Rs. 500, seamless shorts at Rs. 850, opaque tights at Rs. 750, bibshorts and the Christmas-print kids' dress at Rs. 1,000 — July's oddest listing. And the 20% rung's linen checked shirt at Rs. 3,039, wired plunge bra at Rs. 2,399 and kids' playsuit at Rs. 1,999, whose rate chapter four decodes.

What we look for

We read Marks & Spencer India's own listings

Every price, stated MRP and discount on this page comes from marksandspencer.in's own product-grid responses on July 31, 2026 — 76 in-stock women's, kids' and lingerie listings, from Rs. 500 to Rs. 4,500, across 26 distinct stated MRPs. None of the 76 carried a rating or review count, so no pick on this page shows one: we do not publish scores we cannot source.

Then we counted the discount rates, and found six

60% (46 listings), 70% (13), 50% (9), 20% (6), 80% (1) and 15% (1). No other value appears. A shelf running on six fixed rates is priced by policy, and the badge tells you which rung of the ladder a garment sits on rather than anything about its value. The 60% rate alone covers more than half the read — it is the store's default state, not an event.

And we followed one MRP through the whole ladder

The Rs. 2,499 tier contains 16 listings selling at five prices: Rs. 500 (80%), Rs. 750 (70%), Rs. 1,000 (60%), Rs. 1,250 (50%) and Rs. 1,999 (20%). Sharpest of all: the Flexifit lace non-wired bralette appears twice — A-E sizes at Rs. 500 and F-H sizes at Rs. 1,999. The same garment, the same declared MRP, and the size range alone moves the price by a factor of four. Neither listing references the other.

So every pick names its rung, and the MRPs are treated as claims

Each pick states the selling price first and the declared MRP it is computed from, because on a fixed-rate shelf those two numbers are the entire story. Stated MRPs are the retailer's own figures — some, like the oddly specific Rs. 4,741, are visibly currency conversions from the global range — and we report them without verifying that anything ever sold at them. Prices read July 31, 2026, and can change without notice.

FAQs

What is actually on sale at Marks & Spencer India right now?

Effectively the whole online womenswear shelf, at fixed rates. Of 76 listings we read on July 31, 2026, 46 sit at exactly 60% off, 13 at 70%, 9 at 50%, 6 at 20%, and one each at 80% and 15% — six values covering everything. The 70% rack is where the trend stock clears (linen dresses from Rs. 1,050, printed linen trousers at Rs. 1,140), the 60% rate covers the store's core from Rs. 520 kids' shorts to a Rs. 2,000 circle skirt, and the 50% rung holds the tailoring, including a stretch suit jacket at Rs. 4,000.

Why does the same M&S bralette cost four times more in larger sizes?

Because the discount attaches to the listing, and the two size ranges are separate listings. The Flexifit lace non-wired bralette declares the same Rs. 2,499 MRP in both, but the A-E listing sits at 80% off (Rs. 500) while the F-H listing sits at 20% (Rs. 1,999). Fuller-cup stock is scarcer and sells through without clearance, which is the likely commercial logic — but the practical effect is that shoppers in extended sizes pay the most. If you wear an E cup, which appears in both ranges, check the A-E listing first: it is the same garment at a quarter of the price.

Is the M&S 60% off a limited-time sale?

Nothing in our read suggests urgency. Sixty per cent is the single rate on 46 of the 76 listings — more than half the shelf — spanning kids' basics, dresses, shirts, nightwear and occasion wear. A rate that broad, applied that flatly, is a pricing policy rather than an event, and our repeated reads of this store have found deep fixed rates as its normal state. The genuine scarcity is in sizes, not time: at the 70-80% rungs the popular middle sizes empty first, so the decision window on a specific garment is stock, not the badge.

What are the best M&S linen buys this month?

The 70% rack is the linen event: the linen-rich bandeau mini dress at Rs. 1,422 (with a matching raw-edge shirt at the same price for a two-piece resort set), the abstract-print relaxed trousers at Rs. 1,140, and the lyocell checked drop-waist midi at Rs. 1,050. On the 60% rack, the linen-rich Hawaiian shirt at Rs. 1,400 is the most useful single garment for an Indian July, and the linen shirred maxi skirt sits at Rs. 1,600. All of these are natural-fibre pieces at prices mid-market brands charge for polyester.

Is M&S tailoring worth buying at 50% off?

It is the most believable discount on the shelf. The tailored stretch suit jacket at Rs. 4,000 (from a stated Rs. 7,999) and its checked sibling at Rs. 4,500 sit in a gap in the Indian market — above unstructured fast fashion, below Rs. 12,000 mall tailoring — and M&S's tailoring MRPs track its global pricing, unlike the currency-converted oddities elsewhere in the read. If a formal jacket features anywhere in your next six months, it is the most durable spend on this page. The stretch construction also survives regular wearing better than fused budget tailoring.

More Marks & Spencer coverage on Zoutons

How Zoutons picks deals Zoutons may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page. Every price, stated MRP and discount percentage here was read from Marks & Spencer India's own site (marksandspencer.in) on July 31, 2026 — 76 in-stock listings — and all of them can change without notice. None of the 76 listings displayed a rating or review count, so no pick on this page carries one; the absence is the site's, not an omission of ours. Our central observations — that exactly six discount rates cover the read, that sixteen listings share one Rs. 2,499 MRP across five selling prices, and that the same bralette model sells at Rs. 500 in A-E sizes and Rs. 1,999 in F-H — describe the listings we read on that date; stock, prices and rates may change at any time, and a larger or later pull would shift the counts. In describing the size-range pricing difference we are reporting how two listings appeared to a shopper on one day and offering our own reconstruction of the commercial logic; we are not alleging any intent on Marks & Spencer's part, and differential discounting across size ranges and stock positions is ordinary retail practice whose inputs we cannot see from outside. Stated MRPs are the retailer's own declared figures, which we report and do not verify as prices anything has sold at; several, such as Rs. 4,741 and Rs. 3,160, appear to be currency conversions from the global range, which is our inference. Fabric compositions, size ranges and construction details are the listings' own claims. Comments on garment behaviour — linen holding shape when damp, modal wicking heat, boucle being an autumn cloth, clearance ladders descending by season — reflect general understanding of clothing retail rather than testing we have done. We have not worn any garment on this page.
