Hostinger 48-Month Plan Cost: Rs. 3,312 Now, Rs. 289/mo Later

Hostinger prints two numbers on every plan card and they point in opposite directions. One is the total for the 48-month term, paid upfront at checkout. The other is the renewal rate, quoted per month. On the entry Single plan those numbers are Rs. 3,312 for four years and Rs. 289 a month afterwards.

Multiply the second by twelve and the shape of the deal appears: year five costs Rs. 3,468. That is more than the first four years put together. Hostinger publishes every figure this rests on - the term total, the renewal rate, the discount percentage - and it does not publish the comparison, so here it is for all four plans on the page we read.

The gap between what you pay and what you will pay is not constant across the range. On Single the renewal rate is 4.2 times the introductory rate - Rs. 69 becomes Rs. 289. On Premium it is 3.0 times, on Cloud Startup 2.7, and on Unlimited 2.6. The cheapest plan carries the steepest cliff, which is the opposite of how the discount badges present it: Single advertises 83 per cent off and Unlimited 64.

There is a second consequence worth spelling out. Premium's introductory rate is Rs. 149 a month. Single's renewal rate is Rs. 289 a month. A customer renewing the smallest plan therefore pays roughly twice what a new customer pays for the plan above it, with three times the websites and double the storage. Nothing on the page is hidden here - both figures are printed inches apart - but the two are never set side by side.

The fourth card on Hostinger's web hosting page is Cloud Startup at Rs. 599 a month introductory, Rs. 28,752 for the 48-month term and Rs. 1,599 a month on renewal. The dedicated cloud page gives the same plan its full resource list: 4 CPU cores, 4 GB of RAM, 100 GB of NVMe storage, 2,000,000 inodes and 100 PHP workers, with a dedicated IP address and managed hosting for WordPress and WooCommerce.

That page's own FAQ names two plans above it - Cloud Professional at Rs. 899 a month and Cloud Enterprise at Rs. 1,899 a month, both on the 48-month plan. Their resource lists sit behind tab controls that did not render in our read, so we are reporting the two prices and not their specifications. We would rather leave a gap than fill it in.

One comparison is worth making because both pages were read the same day. Hostinger's entry VPS plan, KVM 1, is also Rs. 599 a month introductory - and it carries 1 vCPU core, 4 GB of RAM and 50 GB of NVMe, against Cloud Startup's 4 CPU cores and 100 GB. The VPS is unmanaged and renews at Rs. 999 a month; the cloud plan is managed and renews at Rs. 1,599. Same rupee today, different machine and a Rs. 600 monthly gap from the second term.

Two questions decide whether a 48-month plan is the right purchase, and neither is about the discount percentage. The first is whether you will still want the site in 2030 - because the money is spent on day one and the money-back guarantee runs for 30 days, not four years. The second is what you intend to do at renewal, since that is where the pricing actually lands.

If the answer to the second is "move", the arithmetic is straightforward and the entry plan is genuinely cheap: Rs. 3,312 for four years of hosting a single site is Rs. 69 a month and very hard to beat. If the answer is "stay", price the fifth year in before you compare providers, because Rs. 289 a month is a different product from Rs. 69 a month - it is Rs. 3,468 a year for one website and 10 GB.

The middle plans are where the cliff is gentlest. Unlimited renews at 2.6 times its introductory rate rather than Single's 4.2, and its year five costs 65 per cent of its four-year total rather than 105 per cent. If you expect to stay put, that matters more than the badge on the card, which reads 83 per cent off on the plan with the steepest renewal and 64 per cent on the one with the gentlest.
