GoDaddy Builder Plans 2026: What 150 AI Credits Cost at Rs. 699 a Month

We read GoDaddy's India website builder page on 29 August 2026. It shows four plans: a Free tier, Starter at Rs. 699 a month, Professional at Rs. 1,699 and Ultimate at Rs. 6,499, every paid one billed annually.

We also read the same URL on 21 August 2026, eight days earlier. It showed three plans with different names and very different prices: Basic at Rs. 249 a month, Premium at Rs. 599 and Commerce at Rs. 899.

So this is not a promotion moving a few rupees. Every plan name has been replaced, a free tier has appeared, the whole thing has been rebuilt around monthly AI credits as the unit of value, and the price range has moved from Rs. 249-899 to Rs. 699-6,499. We should be careful about what that does and does not mean: it is what the public pricing page shows on two dates. We do not know what customers already on a Basic or Commerce plan are being charged, and nothing here says anyone's existing bill has changed.

Line the two reads up by position rather than by name, since the names no longer match, and the scale of the move is easier to see.

The entry plan went from Rs. 249 to Rs. 699, a multiple of 2.8. The middle plan from Rs. 599 to Rs. 1,699, a multiple of 2.8 as well. And the top plan from Rs. 899 to Rs. 6,499 — a multiple of 7.2.

The top of the range has moved furthest by a wide margin, which fits what the new Ultimate plan is positioned for: its own card says it is "best for online stores and agencies managing client sites" and it allows up to 50 published sites. That is an agency product, and the old Rs. 899 Commerce plan was not.

For an individual buying a single site, the relevant comparison is Rs. 249 then and Rs. 699 now for the entry tier — against a new Free tier that did not exist before and allows unlimited sites while you explore, on 50 AI credits a month.

GoDaddy has made AI credits the headline unit of this product — each paid card leads with a credit allowance, and the page notes that editing text and images does not consume them, so credits go on creating sites and apps.

Divide the price by the credits and something counter-intuitive falls out. Starter gives 150 credits for Rs. 699, which is Rs. 4.66 a credit. Professional gives 300 for Rs. 1,699, or Rs. 5.66. Ultimate gives 750 for Rs. 6,499 — Rs. 8.67 a credit, nearly twice the Starter rate.

Normally a bigger bundle is cheaper per unit. Here it is dearer, and that tells you the upgrades are not being sold on AI volume at all. Divide by published sites instead and the direction reverses: Rs. 699 a site on Starter, about Rs. 170 on Professional, about Rs. 130 on Ultimate.

So the honest way to choose is on site count and features, not on credits. If you need one site, the extra credits on Professional are the most expensive thing you could buy them through. If you manage ten client sites, Professional is dramatically cheaper per site and the credits come along with it.

For context on the same product category: we read Hostinger's India website builder page on 28 August 2026 and its three plans ran Rs. 149, Rs. 249 and Rs. 599 a month, all billed as 48-month terms paid up front. GoDaddy's new entry plan at Rs. 699 is about 4.7 times Hostinger's entry, though the two are not billed on the same basis — one commits you to a year, the other to four.

Three practical points follow.

First, use the Free tier before paying anything. It did not exist eight days ago, it needs no card, and it gives 50 credits a month with unlimited sites to explore. There is no reason to pick a paid plan before you have built something.

Second, buy on site count. One site means Starter; the step to Professional is worth it at roughly four or more sites on a per-site basis, and only earlier than that if you specifically want the developer tools or client transfers.

Third, given this page changed completely inside eight days, check the live prices yourself before committing to an annual term. We will re-read it and log what moves.
