A knife set on Flipkart costs between Rs. 111 and Rs. 748 this morning. The discount badge above it has almost nothing to do with which end it sits at - and one Rs. 288 set is listed eight separate times.
We read Flipkart's own knife set and chopping board results on 6 November 2026 and sorted them by what they actually cost. Four three-piece sets land within Rs. 15 of each other — and wear badges of 83%, 82%, 52% and 34%. The badge is measuring the stated MRP, which on this shelf ranges from Rs. 299 to Rs. 3,499 for knives selling between Rs. 111 and Rs. 748.
Every price below was pulled from Flipkart on November 6, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Flipkart coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.

Flipkart runs card and coupon offers that change by day, card and basket, and this read was made logged out, so no bank discount is included in any price here. Check the rating count before you treat two results as two options — an identical count means one product listed twice, and eight of the tiles in this read were one set. Read the piece count out of the title: Rs. 278 buys six knives on one tile and one knife costs Rs. 518 on another. Ignore the badge and sort by price, because on this shelf a 10% badge undercut a 71% one. Treat a star average built on six ratings as no information at all — three tiles here publish fewer than fifty. And read the material line on a board before the discount: MDF, solid wood, plastic and steel are all on this page within Rs. 159 of each other, and they do not wear the same.

Each selling price, stated MRP, badge percentage, star average and rating count was read from flipkart.com's own search results for "kitchen knife set" and "chopping board" on 6 November 2026, logged out, from India, with nothing bought. The read returned 129 unique tiles; 24 are seated here. Piece counts and board sizes are quoted from the listings' own titles and subtitles. Any per-knife figure is our arithmetic on those two published numbers and is labelled in the text.
Three KitchenMartt tiles and two Yugam tiles on this page are the same product listed more than once, which we know because the rating count is identical across them - Flipkart pools reviews across a listing family. Most price pages quietly drop the duplicates. We seat them, because the duplication is the finding. Five further KitchenMartt copies were left out so the page reports the repetition rather than padding itself with it.
Every badge on this page is computed by Flipkart against a stated MRP that the seller supplies, and on this shelf those stated MRPs run from Rs. 299 to Rs. 3,499 for knife sets selling between Rs. 111 and Rs. 748. So the badge ranks the size of the claim, not the size of the saving. Setting a reference price above the selling price is an ordinary retail practice and nothing here alleges that any stated MRP is false. We quote every badge, and we rank by price.
Six ratings and 17,234 ratings are not the same evidence, and this page says so each time it matters. Tiles with no rating published at all are marked as such rather than left blank. Where one product's duplicates hold separate pools - ECUSSI's 97, 45 and 6 - all three are shown together, because seeing them apart is what makes any of them misleading.
This is a price and listing read and nothing else. No knife was handled or edge-tested; no board was checked for warping, odour or dishwasher durability. "High Carbon", "Ultra Sharp", "Premium", "BPA Free", "Dishwasher Safe" and "Japanese" are the listings' own printed words and are reproduced, not endorsed. Steel grade, hardness, tang and balance are not assessed anywhere on this page.
Because the percentage is calculated against a stated MRP that the seller supplies, not against anything a buyer pays. On this read, Yugam at Rs. 183 badges 83% against a stated Rs. 1,099, while NOVA at Rs. 198 badges 34% against a stated Rs. 299. Fifteen rupees apart at checkout, 49 percentage points apart on the badge. The widest version of this on the page: Captoola at Rs. 748 states Rs. 3,499 and badges 79%, while AGARO at Rs. 746 states Rs. 849 and badges 12% - Rs. 2 apart in money, Rs. 2,650 apart in claim. Setting a reference price above the selling price is an ordinary retail practice and nothing here alleges that any stated MRP is false. The practical rule is to sort by selling price and ignore the badge column entirely.
Usually not, and the rating count is how you tell. Flipkart pools reviews across a listing family, so an identical rating count on two tiles is strong evidence they are one product. On this read KitchenMartt's 4-piece set appears eight times at Rs. 288, every copy showing 4.3 stars from exactly 1,406 ratings, and Yugam's 3-piece appears twice - at Rs. 207 and Rs. 183 - both showing 359 ratings. It also runs the other way: ECUSSI's set appears three times with separate pools of 97, 45 and 6, so the same product looks far better reviewed on one tile than another. Check the rating count before you treat two results as two options.
Of the 129 tiles this read returned, the cheapest knife set seated here is a LA'FORTE 3-piece at Rs. 111, against a stated Rs. 599 and badged 81%, carrying 3.9 stars from 1,026 ratings. The cheapest tile of any kind on the page is a Narniza MDF chopping board at Rs. 119. For six knives rather than three, the DNJ 6-piece at Rs. 278 works out at roughly Rs. 46 a knife against Rs. 61 to Rs. 66 on the Rs. 183-Rs. 198 three-piece tiles - that per-knife figure is our arithmetic, not a number Flipkart publishes. Prices on this shelf move daily and were read on 6 November 2026.
On this read, clearly yes. Glare badges 10%, AGARO 12%, Kai 20% and NOVA 34%. Every tile badged 71% or deeper carries a name with little or no shelf presence. The two shallowest badges on the page also carry two of its three highest star averages - AGARO 4.5 from 1,326 ratings, Glare 4.7 from 112. And the shallow badge is not the same as a high price: Glare's Rs. 270 three-piece costs Rs. 18 LESS than a KitchenMartt four-piece badged 71%. That said, this is twenty-four tiles on one morning, the sets are not like-for-like on piece count, and nothing here compares steel quality, which we did not test.
This page cannot answer that and does not try - it is a price read, and no board here was tested. What it can report is what the four materials cost on the same morning: MDF from Rs. 119, solid wood from Rs. 135, plastic from Rs. 120, and stainless steel at Rs. 194 and Rs. 278. The most-reviewed board in the read is the Rs. 120 plastic OMORTEX with 17,234 ratings; the best-rated is the Rs. 278 NORVIUM steel board at 4.4 from 4,328. As a general matter steel and glass boards blunt knives faster than wood or plastic, and "Dishwasher Safe" on a solid-wood board is a claim worth reading on the product page before you act on it. Those are the listings' own words; we verified none of them.
