Croma sells electronics out of shops you can walk into, and it sells them on croma.com. Its online FAQ is asked four separate times whether those two things connect — can you collect a web order in a shop, can you return one there, can the website help with something bought in store — and every answer is no. Two of them use the identical sentence. We read all 88 questions on 11 October 2026 and counted the word "Unfortunately" eight times. Below: the four store answers in full, the other four doors the FAQ closes, what has to be in the box when you return something, and the three things this page does better than most. Published text only; not legal advice.

Occurrences of the word "Unfortunately" counted mechanically over the page text: eight. FAQ verified 11 October 2026.

Four questions, four refusals

Croma is an electronics chain you can walk into. Its online FAQ is asked four separate times whether the shop and the website connect, and four times it says no. Here are all four, in the FAQ's own words.

"CAN I SHIP MY ORDER TO A CROMA STORE, SO I CAN COLLECT IT THERE?" — "Unfortunately, we do not offer any such facility currently."

"CAN I BUY ONLINE AND PICK DELIVERY FROM THE NEAREST CROMA STORE?" — "Unfortunately, we do not offer any such facility currently." The same answer, word for word, to what is very nearly the same question, filed in a different section.

"CAN I RETURN AN ORDER AT THE CROMA STORE?" — "No, currently we do not have a provision for you to return your order at Croma store."

"CAN I RETURN OR REPLACE AN ITEM WHICH I HAVE BOUGHT AT CROMA STORE?" — "Unfortunately, at croma.com we can process only online orders." It adds a route: "However for store queries, kindly reach us at 1800-57-27662."

Read together, the four say the channels are sealed off from each other in both directions. A website order cannot be collected at a shop, cannot be returned to a shop, and cannot be replaced at a shop. A shop purchase cannot be handled by the website. The fact that the same refusal is published twice, under two different headings, suggests it is the question Croma gets asked most.

The word that runs through the whole document

We counted the word "Unfortunately" across the FAQ: it appears eight times. Four of them are the store answers above. The other four are worth knowing before you order, because each closes a door people assume is open.

Card on delivery. "CAN I PAY WITH MY CARD ON DELIVERY?" — "Unfortunately, we do not offer such payment option currently." On a large appliance that is a real planning point: whatever you intend to pay with has to work at checkout, not at the door.

Your registered email and mobile. "Unfortunately, your Email ID or mobile number once registered cannot be changed. However, you can create a new account with your new contact number or Email ID." Change your number and you start a new account — and since the FAQ also says invoices and communication go to the registered details, your purchase history and the invoices you may need for warranty stay with the old one.

The invoice itself. "Can I change the Name, Email Address, Contact Number, Residential Address, or GST Number on invoice?" — "Unfortunately, once the invoice is generated, details cannot be changed!" The exclamation mark is Croma's. If you are claiming GST, the number has to be right before you pay, not after — we read the GST rules on the same page separately.

And the delivery address. Not an "Unfortunately", but the same shape: "Address changes are not allowed once the order is placed." Between that and the invoice clause, almost everything about a Croma order is fixed at the moment you confirm it.

If you do return something, this is the part that costs money

Because a store return is not available, every return is a collection, and the FAQ lists what has to be in the parcel. A replacement is allowed only if "The product is returned in its original condition along with the brand/manufacturer box, MRP tag intact, user manual, warranty card, and all in-the-box accessories."

Then there is the freebie clause, and it is the one with a number attached. "All the free gifts, packaging material, and supporting accessories would have to be returned along with the product. In case you do not wish to return the free item, then apart of amount corresponding to the value of that gift item would be deducted from the total amount." That is the page's own wording, including "apart of amount", reproduced rather than corrected. In plain terms: keep the free gift and its value comes out of your refund.

The EMI clause is the one that can quietly keep charging you. "In case of refund, though the amount is credited back to the customer's card, the EMI closure will happen only after customer communicates the same to the bank. Customer will need to specifically communicate to the banks its intent of EMI loan closure. Also if customer fails to communicate the same to bank, the interest amount that bank will keep levying will be borne by the customer." Getting your money back does not end the loan. You have to ring the bank yourself, and until you do, the interest is yours — we read that clause in full separately.

The counterweight, and it is a genuine one: the FAQ publishes a 24-hour customer care number, 1800-57-27662, and a WhatsApp route on 9452594525 for starting a return. Both are specific, both are first-party, and a great many retailers bury the equivalent behind a contact form.

Three things this FAQ does better than most

It tells you that you do not need the warranty card. "The invoice you receive with the order can be used to claim the warranty, as it includes your purchase and product details. We send an invoice copy to the registered email address & on WhatsApp registered number for all orders." That answer removes a genuine worry, and it is the reason the registered-details clause above matters: the invoice goes to the account, so keep the account.

It tells you what to do if a delivery agent overcharges you. "Our delivery partners would never ask you to pay anything besides the invoice value, however, if such an instance occurs, we request that you do not accept the order and raise a complaint with us immediately." Naming the scenario and giving an instruction is better practice than silence.

It names the couriers and the banks. Deliveries go "through Supply Chain or through reputed courier service provider like Blue Dart, Delhivery, Ecom Express, Xpressbees, Shadowfax", and the FAQ lists every net-banking bank it accepts and every bank whose credit cards support EMI. It also publishes a worked EMI cost table — on a Rs. 20,000 purchase, Rs. 401.33 of bank interest over three months rising to Rs. 1,436.15 over twelve. Most retailers do not put that number on a page at all.

What to actually do

Plan the delivery, not the collection. There is no click-and-collect and no store return, so order to an address where someone will be present. Standard delivery is "7 working days from the order date"; where Zip delivery is offered, ordering before 4 pm gets it the same day.

Get the invoice details right before you pay — name, address, contact and GST number — because none of them can be changed afterwards, and neither can the delivery address.

Decide at the door, not after. If the shipment looks unsealed or tampered with, the FAQ says "kindly do not accept the order". Once collected, you are into the return process, which means a courier, the original box and the MRP tag.

Keep the box, the tag, the manual and the freebie until you are certain. All four have to go back, and the free gift's value is deducted if it does not.

If you paid by EMI and get a refund, ring your bank the same day to close the loan. Croma's own FAQ says the interest until you do is yours.

Nothing here is legal advice, and nothing here says Croma has refused any return or breached any obligation. This describes a published FAQ as it stood on 11 October 2026; the pages shown on croma.com prevail over anything written here, and the FAQ itself points to Croma's separate Return Policy and Cancellations policy for the full terms.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I collect a Croma online order from a Croma store?
No. Croma's FAQ is asked this twice, in two different sections, and gives the identical answer both times. "CAN I SHIP MY ORDER TO A CROMA STORE, SO I CAN COLLECT IT THERE?" — "Unfortunately, we do not offer any such facility currently." And "CAN I BUY ONLINE AND PICK DELIVERY FROM THE NEAREST CROMA STORE?" — "Unfortunately, we do not offer any such facility currently." Orders are delivered to the address you give at checkout, which "cannot be changed once the order is placed", so choose one where someone will be in. Standard delivery is "7 working days from the order date", and where Zip delivery is offered, orders placed before 4 pm arrive the same day.
Can I return a Croma online order to a Croma store?
No. "CAN I RETURN AN ORDER AT THE CROMA STORE?" — "No, currently we do not have a provision for you to return your order at Croma store." Returns are started online instead: the FAQ says to send 'Hi' via WhatsApp to Croma Assist on 9452594525, or to cancel before dispatch through My Orders > "Cancel My Order". The same separation applies in reverse — "at croma.com we can process only online orders" for anything bought in a shop, with store queries routed to 1800-57-27662. Croma's full terms are in its separate Return Policy, which the FAQ links to.
What do I have to send back when I return something to Croma?
More than the product. A replacement is allowed only if "The product is returned in its original condition along with the brand/manufacturer box, MRP tag intact, user manual, warranty card, and all in-the-box accessories", and only if it "was not damaged while in the customer's possession". Free gifts count too: "All the free gifts, packaging material, and supporting accessories would have to be returned along with the product. In case you do not wish to return the free item, then apart of amount corresponding to the value of that gift item would be deducted from the total amount." (That wording is the page's own.) In practice the MRP tag and the original box are the two things people part with first — keep both until you are sure.
Can I pay cash or card when the Croma delivery arrives?
Not by card. "CAN I PAY WITH MY CARD ON DELIVERY?" — "Unfortunately, we do not offer such payment option currently." Payment is made at checkout, where the FAQ lists credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, RuPay, Maestro, American Express, Diners), net banking, EMI, UPI, the Freecharge, Mobikwik and PayTM wallets, and Croma Gift Cards or Gyftr vouchers. One thing to watch at the door: "Our delivery partners would never ask you to pay anything besides the invoice value, however, if such an instance occurs, we request that you do not accept the order and raise a complaint with us immediately." The charge appears on your statement as "INFINITI RETAIL LIMITED".
I didn't get a warranty card with my Croma order. What do I do?
Nothing — the invoice is the warranty document. Croma's FAQ states: "The invoice you receive with the order can be used to claim the warranty, as it includes your purchase and product details. We send an invoice copy to the registered email address & on WhatsApp registered number for all orders, which can later be used to claim the warranty." This is the reason the account matters more than it looks: the same FAQ says "your Email ID or mobile number once registered cannot be changed" and that you would have to create a new account instead — which would leave the invoices for everything you have already bought sitting on the old one. Save a copy somewhere of your own.

Every quoted question, answer, clause and count on this page was read on 11 October 2026 from croma.com/faq, logged out, in India, with nothing purchased, no order placed, no return, replacement, cancellation or refund requested and customer support not contacted by phone, WhatsApp or any other route; the count of occurrences of the word "Unfortunately" was made mechanically over the text of the page as served to us. Quotations are reproduced verbatim from Croma's own page, including its own spelling, grammar, capitalisation, spacing, punctuation and exclamation marks, and any apparent error inside a quotation — including the phrase "apart of amount" in the free-gift clause — is the source page's rather than ours and is reproduced rather than corrected. Reporting that this FAQ declines store collection, store returns of online orders, online handling of store purchases or card payment on delivery is a description of what the published document says. It is not a statement that Infiniti Retail Limited, Croma, Tata Neu, any Croma store or franchisee, or any of their group companies, officers or employees has refused any customer any service, denied any return, delayed any refund, provided deficient service, engaged in any unfair trade practice, used any unfair contract term or dark pattern, or failed any statutory or contractual obligation, and no such wrongdoing is alleged or implied. Deciding not to offer click-and-collect or cross-channel returns is an ordinary and entirely lawful commercial choice, many large retailers in India and elsewhere make it, and a company may change its practice at any time. No allegation of any kind is made or implied against Blue Dart, Delhivery, Ecom Express, Xpressbees, Shadowfax or any other courier, nor against any bank, card network, wallet or payment provider named in the FAQ, all of which are referred to only as names appearing in a published list. The EMI illustration figures reproduced here are Croma's own stated representative example for a Rs. 20,000 purchase and are described by Croma itself as "for indicative purposes only"; they are not a quotation, an offer, a financial projection or advice, actual EMI terms, rates, eligibility and refund rules rest with the card-issuing bank, and nothing here should be relied on in deciding how to pay. Statutory consumer rights apply to a sale irrespective of how a FAQ or returns policy is drafted. The FAQ itself refers to Croma's separate Return Policy and Cancellations policy, which this page does not reproduce and which contain the full terms.
