A whiteboard is one of the few things a search result gives you a real unit for: most of these tiles print their own dimensions. So we divided. Six listings on this shelf state the same 12 square feet - 3 feet by 4 feet, or the 48 by 36 inches that equals it - and they cost Rs. 1,899, Rs. 1,899, Rs. 2,069, Rs. 3,225, Rs. 3,999 and Rs. 16,221. Two of those are magnetic and two are not, which explains some of the spread. It does not explain a board costing 8.5 times another of the same size.

Small Boards Are the Most Expensive Surface
Outside the Rs. 16,221 VIZ-PRO, the dearest rates in the read are here: Rs. 599.60, Rs. 484.40 and Rs. 472.90 a square foot, against Rs. 158.20 for a 3 x 4 foot board. The two listings sold as stated packs of two are the exception, and both must be divided by the pack before they can be compared at all.

Four rules for buying a whiteboard on this shelf
First: work out the square footage before you compare anything. Six listings here state the same 12 square feet at prices from Rs. 1,899 to Rs. 16,221, and nothing on the tiles makes that obvious - 48 x 36 inches and 3 x 4 feet are the same board described two ways. Second: decide whether you need magnetic, then compare within that. A magnetic board genuinely costs more, and the Rs. 3,225 Solimo is a fair price for one; a non-magnetic board at Rs. 1,899 is not a cheaper version of it, it is a different thing that will not hold a magnet. Third: treat the badge as noise, because on this shelf it demonstrably is. Two boards of the same stated size at the identical price of Rs. 1,899 advertise 73% and 46% off, purely because their sellers stated MRPs of Rs. 6,999 and Rs. 3,499. And 11 of the 48 listings state an MRP that cannot be right - two at exactly 100 times the price, nine below the price - so the column the badges are computed from is unreliable roughly a quarter of the time. Fourth: if you only need a writable surface and not a board, the stickers are a fifth of the price per square foot. They are vinyl, they depend on the wall behind them and they come off badly; three of them here carry 3.8 to 3.9 stars against 4.0 to 4.6 on the framed boards. That trade may be right for a child's room and wrong for an office.

Each selling price, stated MRP, discount badge, star average and rating count on this page was read on 30 September 2026 from amazon.in's own search results for 'whiteboard', logged out, in India, with nothing purchased. 48 listings were returned and 23 are seated. Nothing was bought, mounted or written on.
Price per square foot uses the dimensions the listing prints
Only 26 of the 48 listings print any dimension at all, and only those appear in the per-square-foot figures; feet, centimetres and inches are converted to square feet, so 3 x 4 feet, 48 x 36 inches and 45 x 200 cm are compared as the areas they are. A stated dimension is the seller's own figure and we have not measured anything.
Stickers and framed boards are counted separately
The three cheapest square feet in this read are vinyl wall stickers, not boards, and they are kept in their own chapter with their own median rather than being mixed into the board figures. A sticker has no frame, no rigidity and no pen tray; it is a different product and we do not present its rate as a like-for-like.
A pack is divided by what the pack states
Two listings here are stated multi-packs and both are divided by the stated total, not by the single-item dimension. The LifeKrafts lap boards are a pack of two at 9 x 12 inches each, so the rate is computed across 1.5 square feet; the Windup listing is a 'Set of 2 A4 (8x12 in)', so it is 1.33 square feet and Rs. 299.25 a square foot rather than the Rs. 598.50 the single dimension would suggest. Where a listing does not state how many items it contains, no per-unit figure is given.
No claim is made about surface quality or durability

How much should a 3x4 whiteboard cost in India?
On Amazon's shelf on 30 September 2026, six listings stated that size and the answer ranged enormously. Two non-magnetic 3 x 4 boards cost Rs. 1,899 each - Rs. 158.20 a square foot - and one of them carried 9,609 ratings, the most of any board in the read. A third non-magnetic board was Rs. 2,069. Magnetic versions of the same stated size cost Rs. 3,225 and Rs. 3,999, and an imported VIZ-PRO at 48 x 36 inches - the same 12 square feet - cost Rs. 16,221. If you want a plain wall board for a home or a classroom, Rs. 1,900 to Rs. 2,100 is the going rate on this shelf; the magnetic premium is roughly Rs. 1,300.
Why is one whiteboard Rs. 1,899 and another Rs. 16,221 for the same size?
Part of it is genuine and part of it we cannot explain from listing data. The Rs. 1,899 boards are described as non-magnetic and the Rs. 16,221 VIZ-PRO as magnetic, and a steel-backed magnetic surface does cost more to make - but a magnetic Solimo board of the same stated 12 square feet was Rs. 3,225 in the same read, so magnetism accounts for about Rs. 1,300 of the gap and not Rs. 14,000. What the VIZ-PRO also has is 6,326 ratings at 4.5 and an imported brand behind it. Surface quality, ghosting and how a board wipes after a year are real differences between whiteboards and they are invisible in a search result; we did not write on any of these boards and cannot tell you whether that premium buys anything.
Are whiteboard stickers a good substitute for a whiteboard?
They are far cheaper per square foot and they are not the same product. Three vinyl stickers in this read stated 45 x 200 cm - about 9.7 square feet - at Rs. 234, Rs. 248 and Rs. 299, which is Rs. 24.00 to Rs. 30.70 a square foot against a median of Rs. 197.00 across the framed boards. What you give up: a frame, rigidity, a pen tray and a surface that does not depend on the wall behind it, plus whatever happens when you try to remove it. The published verdicts differ too - the three stickers sit at 3.8 to 3.9 stars while the framed boards here run 4.0 to 4.6. We have not stuck one to a wall.
Why do some Amazon whiteboards show 99% off?
Because their stated MRP is exactly 100 times the selling price, which is a misplaced decimal point rather than a discount. In this read a Kores lapboard at Rs. 249 stated an MRP of Rs. 24,900, and a YAJNAS eraser at Rs. 142 stated Rs. 14,200 - 249 x 100 and 142 x 100 exactly. A useful test on any listing: divide the stated MRP by the price, and if you get exactly 100 or exactly 10, the field is wrong. Separately, nine listings on this shelf state an MRP BELOW their own selling price - Faber-Castell markers at Rs. 186 against a stated Rs. 18 - and those display 0% off. That is 11 of 48 tiles with an MRP that cannot be right. No wrongdoing by Amazon or any seller is alleged; data errors in MRP fields are common across Indian marketplaces.
Is a small whiteboard cheaper than a big one?
Cheaper to buy, much more expensive per square foot. The dearest rates in this read, the Rs. 16,221 VIZ-PRO aside, are all small boards: an 8 x 11 inch board at Rs. 289 works out at Rs. 472.90 a square foot and a framed 60 x 40 cm board at Rs. 1,549 works out at Rs. 599.60, against Rs. 158.20 for a 3 x 4 foot board. That is three to four times the rate for the same writing surface, and it is not unreasonable - a frame and packaging cost much the same at any size - but it is worth seeing. The exception is multi-packs: a stated pack of two 9 x 12 lap boards at Rs. 279 works out at Rs. 186.00 a square foot across both, less than half the rate of the single small boards beside it, and a Windup listing that looks like Rs. 598.50 a square foot is a stated set of two, which makes it Rs. 299.25. Read the pack size before you divide.
