Fifty-seven listings read on 3 October. Forty-one different prices, eighteen different stated MRPs, and one round number doing a third of the work.
Rangoli colour is bought once a year, in a hurry, from a search page full of 80% badges — which makes it a good place to ask what those badges are calculated against. Across the 57 listings Amazon returned on 3 October there are 41 different selling prices and only 18 different stated MRPs, and a single figure, Rs. 599, is printed by seven unrelated brands whose actual prices range from Rs. 105 to Rs. 236. There is a second trap the results hide: seven of the 20 listings seated below are stencils and mats with no colour in them, priced alongside the powders. Every card says which it is.
Every price below was pulled from Amazon on October 3, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Amazon coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.
Six powder listings from Rs. 98 to Rs. 147, where the stated weights appear and disappear, the best star average sits on 22 ratings, and the most honest stated MRP in the read belongs to the listing with 17.
A multicolour rangoli powder set at Rs. 98.
Why it earned its spot The floor of the shelf, and actual colour rather than a tool kit.
A fine-sand multicolour rangoli powder set at Rs. 117.
Why it earned its spot A different stated grain at close to the floor price, with a thin sample.
A single-colour organic rangoli powder pack at Rs. 129.
Why it earned its spot The shallowest stated multiple in the read, on the thinnest sample.
A marble white rangoli powder pack, 1 kg stated, at Rs. 139.
Why it earned its spot The best-rated powder in the read, with a stated weight you can actually use.
A two-colour rangoli powder pack, 250 g each stated, at Rs. 147.
Why it earned its spot The highest star average on the page, on a sample too small to lean on.
A rangoli kolam colour powder bottle kit at Rs. 199.
Why it earned its spot The second-shallowest multiple on the page, with essentially no published record.
Rs. 599 is the stated list price on 19 of the 57 listings read, across seven unrelated brands selling from Rs. 105 to Rs. 236. Ranked by badge these five read 82%, 73%, 69%, 68%, 67% - the exact reverse of their prices.
A white rangoli powder pack, 800 g stated, at Rs. 105.
Why it earned its spot The first of five seated listings printing the same Rs. 599 stated MRP.
A 10-tube rangoli colour powder kit at Rs. 160.
Why it earned its spot Second of the five seated listings sharing one stated MRP, at a different price.
A 12-design rangoli stamp kit at Rs. 185.
Why it earned its spot Stamps rather than stencils, and the best-evidenced tool kit on the page.
A set of 12 rangoli making stencils at Rs. 194.
Why it earned its spot Fourth listing on the same stated MRP, at the top of its price band.
A reusable rangoli stencil and template mat kit at Rs. 199.
Why it earned its spot The last of the five Rs. 599 listings, and the dearest of them.
A 12-tube rangoli kolam colour powder kit at Rs. 236.
Why it earned its spot Six times the published evidence of anything else in this read.
Stencils, stamps and template mats sit at the same prices as the powders and the search results do not distinguish them. A Rs. 169 stencil kit and a stated kilogram of powder for Rs. 169 are not the same purchase.
A 12-inch rangoli stencil and template mat kit at Rs. 169.
Why it earned its spot The same price as a kilogram of powder, for a tool kit containing no powder.
A 10-colour rangoli kit with one stencil at Rs. 180.
Why it earned its spot The only seated listing that bundles both colour and a tool.
A set of 12 rangoli kolam stencils at Rs. 198.
Why it earned its spot A well-evidenced tool kit at Rs. 4 more than the thinly-rated one above it.
A door-entrance rangoli stencil set at Rs. 267.
Why it earned its spot A shallow, credible multiple on a tool kit with a decent sample.
A 12-inch rangoli stencil and template kit at Rs. 270.
Why it earned its spot The ceiling of the shelf, and it contains no colour.
Where the deepest stated multiple in the read sits, and where two listings at exactly Rs. 249 claim 69% and 50% off respectively - same price, same product type, half the discount.
A 10-colour rangoli powder set, 1 kg stated, at Rs. 169.
Why it earned its spot The deepest stated multiple in the read, on an oddly specific MRP.
A 10-tube rangoli colour powder kit at Rs. 249.
Why it earned its spot A different round MRP, the same 10-tube format, a better average than most.
A rangoli colour powder tube kit at Rs. 249.
Why it earned its spot Same price as the card above, a shallower MRP and a bigger sample.
First: check whether there is colour in the box. Seven of the 20 listings seated here are stencils, stamps or template mats, and they sit at exactly the same prices as the powders — a Rs. 169 stencil kit and a stated kilogram of 10-colour powder at Rs. 169 are both on this page. The titles say which, but the price column does not. Second: ignore the badge and read the stated MRP. Rs. 599 is printed by seven unrelated brands on this shelf; the five seated listings that use it sell at Rs. 105, Rs. 160, Rs. 185, Rs. 194 and Rs. 199, and their badges are simply those prices in reverse. Two listings here sit at exactly Rs. 249 and claim 69% and 50% off respectively. Third: read the rating count, not the star. The best average in this read, 4.2, rests on 22 ratings; the largest sample, 3,838, sits at 3.9. Nine seated listings publish fewer than a hundred ratings and three publish fewer than ten. Fourth: look for a stated weight, and accept that most listings do not give one. Where it is stated it runs 250 g to 1 kg and it is the only figure on this shelf that tells you how much you are actually getting. Every quality word here is the seller's own and we tested none of them.

Each selling price, stated MRP, discount badge, star average and rating count on this page was read on 3 October 2026 from amazon.in's own search results for 'rangoli colours powder', 'rangoli powder kit' and 'rangoli stencil kit', logged out, in India, with nothing purchased. Sponsored placements were dropped and ASINs deduplicated. 57 listings came back and 20 are seated.
This shelf mixes two different purchases at overlapping prices and the search results do not separate them. Seven of the 20 seated listings are stencils, stamps or template mats with no colour in the box; thirteen are colour powder. Every card and every spec strip states which, because a Rs. 169 stencil kit and a stated kilogram of powder at Rs. 169 are not comparable and nothing on this page pretends they are.
Dividing the stated MRP by the selling price gives the figure the badge is built on. On this shelf there are 41 distinct selling prices and only 18 distinct stated MRPs across 57 listings, and one of them - Rs. 599 - appears on 19 of them across seven unrelated brands selling from Rs. 105 to Rs. 236. The badge is therefore mostly a property of which round number a seller chose to print, which is why every card shows both numbers.
Stated quantities on this shelf appear as 800 g, 1 kg, 250 g each, 'set of 12', '10 colours' and, on several listings, nothing at all. We print the stated quantity on every card where there is one and 'no quantity stated' where there is not. We deliberately do not build a per-kilogram table, because it could only be computed for a minority of the shelf and would imply a like-for-like comparison the listings do not support.
'Premium', 'first quality', 'natural organic', 'non edible', 'fine sand', 'marble white', 'reusable' and every gram, kilogram and colour count on this page is the listing's own printed text, reproduced as printed. We did not buy, open, pour, sieve, draw with or test a single product, and nothing here says any powder is brighter, finer, safer or goes further than any other. Rating counts are reported alongside averages throughout because nine seated listings publish fewer than a hundred ratings and three publish fewer than ten.
In this read of 57 listings on 3 October 2026, colour powder ran from Rs. 98 to Rs. 249, and stencil and tool kits from Rs. 169 to Rs. 270. The cheapest powder was Rs. 98 with 141 ratings at 3.8; the cheapest listing stating a full kilogram was Rs. 139 for marble white powder, also with 141 ratings, at 4.1. Most listings on this shelf state no weight at all, which is why we do not publish a per-kilogram ranking. Prices and search rankings change continuously, so this describes what these searches returned on that date.
Because the badge is calculated against a list price the seller prints, and on this shelf very few different list prices are in use. Across 57 listings there were 41 distinct selling prices but only 18 distinct stated MRPs, and one of them — Rs. 599 — appeared on 19 listings from seven unrelated brands selling between Rs. 105 and Rs. 236. Those 19 necessarily show different badges, because the stated MRP never moves and the price does. Among the five seated here the badges read 82%, 73%, 69%, 68% and 67%, which is simply their price order reversed. We are describing published numbers and not suggesting anything improper about any seller's pricing.
On this shelf it depends entirely on the listing, and the search results do not separate them. Seven of the 20 listings seated on this page are stencils, stamps or reusable template mats containing no colour at all, and they sit at the same prices as the powders — one stencil kit here is Rs. 169, exactly what a stated 1 kg ten-colour powder set costs. Only one seated listing, at Rs. 180, states both colour and a stencil in the same box, and it publishes four ratings. Every card and spec strip on this page labels which of the two it is.
On published counts rather than stars, one listing stands clearly apart. A 12-tube rangoli kolam colour powder kit at Rs. 236 carries 3,838 ratings at 3.9. The next largest sample in the seated set is 658, and nine of the 20 seated listings publish fewer than a hundred ratings. The highest star average here, 4.2, rests on just 22 ratings, which is why this page prints counts alongside averages everywhere. We have not used any of these products; we are reporting what the listings publish.
This page cannot tell you and does not try. Several listings describe themselves as 'natural organic' or state 'non edible' in their own titles, and we reproduce those words as printed without verifying either. We did not buy, open, handle or test a single product on this shelf, and no card here makes a claim about pigment composition, skin contact, inhalation or food safety. If that matters for your household, the packaging and the seller are the sources to check, not a price comparison.
