Forty cutlery listings read on 6 October. Most of this shelf advertises no discount at all - what looks like an MRP is a unit rate.
Most price pages begin by distrusting the MRP. On Amazon's cutlery shelf there usually isn't one. On 29 of the 40 listings we read on 6 October, the figure printed under the price is Amazon's own per-count rate: Rs. 168 and "Rs. 28" is six forks at Rs. 28 each, not a 83% discount. Those listings advertise no saving at all. The number that does the work here is the one nobody prints - what a single piece costs - and it runs from Rs. 15.00 to Rs. 224.54. We bought nothing and counted nothing: every piece count below is the listing's own.
Every price below was pulled from Amazon on October 6, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Amazon coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.
On 29 of 40 listings the figure under the price divides into it to give the pack size. Only 11 carry a real struck MRP - and the badge tells you nothing about what a piece costs.

Four rules from the 40 listings this search returned. First: work out what the second number is before you read it as a saving. Divide the price by it - if the answer is the pack size, it is Amazon's per-count rate and the listing is advertising no discount at all. That was true of 29 of 40 listings here, and only 11 carried a genuine struck MRP. Second: divide by the stated piece count yourself. The shelf runs Rs. 15.00 to Rs. 224.54 a piece with a median of Rs. 37.48, and the printed price tells you almost nothing about where a listing sits in that range - a Rs. 2,249 set of sixty is cheaper per piece than a Rs. 650 set of twelve. Third: do not assume the printed unit rate is per piece. On the largest set in this read it is per place setting, which makes it five times the real per-piece figure. Fourth: check the stated contents, not just the count. Several 18- and 24-piece sets here contain spoons and forks only; one 24-piece listing costs Rs. 140 more than the same brand's 24-piece set and comes without the stand. And read the rating count: this shelf carries pools of one, two and three ratings beside pools of 4,959 and 5,442. We bought, unboxed, counted and weighed nothing.

Each selling price, second figure, star average and review count on this page was read on 6 October 2026 from amazon.in's own search results for 'stainless steel cutlery set', logged out, in India, with nothing purchased. Forty listings returned a price and 25 are seated.
On 29 of the 40 listings that figure is Amazon's own per-count rate rather than a struck-through MRP - the price divided by it returns the pack size. Those cards show no MRP and no badge here, because displaying a unit rate as an MRP would manufacture a discount that Amazon does not advertise. The 11 listings with a genuine MRP show it.
Every Rs.-per-piece figure here is the selling price divided by the piece count the listing states in its own title. We did not open a box or count anything. Three of the 40 listings state no count and no per-piece price is computed for them; they are excluded from the shelf median of Rs. 37.48.
The 60-piece listing's printed rate of Rs. 187.42 per count did not divide by its stated 60 pieces, so we opened the product page. Its full title reads 'Elegant Tableware Set for 12', and 2,249 divided by 187.42 is 12. We report that Amazon is dividing by place settings there rather than asserting the rate is an error of arithmetic.
The 29 unit-rate listings, the 11 with real MRPs, the median unit price of Rs. 37.48, the Rs. 15.00 to Rs. 224.54 range and the median selling price of Rs. 699 are counted across the full read rather than the seated cards.
'Premium', 'mirror polished', 'satin finish', 'dishwasher safe', 'food grade', every stated length, stated steel description and stated accessory on this page is the listing's own printed word, reproduced as printed. Nothing was bought, unboxed, weighed or tested, and where two listings differ in price at the same stated count we do not claim they are the same product.
In this read of 40 listings on 6 October 2026, the shelf ran from Rs. 168 to Rs. 5,389 with a median of Rs. 699. Per stated piece it ran Rs. 15.00 to Rs. 224.54, with a median of Rs. 37.48. Plain 12-piece spoon and fork sets sat between Rs. 180 and Rs. 304; 24- and 25-piece sets with a stand between Rs. 545 and Rs. 995; and gift-boxed sets between Rs. 1,199 and Rs. 5,389. Prices change continuously, so check the live page.
Because most of them are not advertising one. On 29 of the 40 listings in this read, the figure printed under the price is Amazon's own per-count rate, not a struck-through MRP. Rs. 168 shown with "Rs. 28" is six forks at Rs. 28 each; Rs. 545 shown with "Rs. 22" is 24 pieces at about Rs. 22.71 each. Divide the price by the second figure and if you get the pack size, there is no discount on that listing. Only 11 of the 40 carried a real MRP and a real badge.
Across the 37 listings in this read that state a piece count, a piece ran from Rs. 15.00 to Rs. 224.54 with a median of Rs. 37.48. The cheapest was a 12-piece gold-finish set at Rs. 180 - on three ratings. The dearest was a gift-boxed 24-piece set at Rs. 5,389. Larger sets are generally cheaper per piece: the 60-piece set at Rs. 2,249 works out at Rs. 37.48 each, less than several 12-piece sets costing a quarter as much. Every figure uses the count the listing itself states; we did not open a box.
Because it is counting something other than pieces. The listing sells at Rs. 2,249 and Amazon prints Rs. 187.42 per count. That does not divide by 60 - it divides by 12, and the full product-page title reads "60-Piece Silverware Set ... Elegant Tableware Set for 12". Amazon is dividing by the twelve place settings, so the rate on the tile is five times the real per-piece price of Rs. 37.48. We verified this from the product page on 6 October 2026. It is a unit-of-measure difference, not a claim of error.
We can only report what the listings publish. Two own-brand listings in this read both sold at Rs. 549, both with a stand, both showing Rs. 21 per count - one titled 24 Piece and one titled 25 Piece, at Rs. 22.88 and Rs. 21.96 a piece, on 243 and 135 ratings. A second pair, a set of 12 at Rs. 650, appeared twice with star averages of 5.0 from one rating and 3.5 from two. We did not buy or open any of them and make no claim that any two listings contain the same contents.
