Amazon Coffee Price Per 100g September 2026: Rs. 76 to Rs. 932

We read Amazon's coffee shelf on 22 September 2026 - 80 unique listings, of which 55 print a pack weight in their own titles. Divide each price by that weight and the aisle splits cleanly in two, and not along the line most shoppers expect.

Every one of the seventeen cheapest rates in this read is ground filter coffee, from Rs. 76.50 per 100 g for a Levista 200 g pouch at Rs. 153 up to Rs. 155 for Sidapur's 500 g. Instant coffee starts at Rs. 182 per 100 g and runs to Rs. 932.63 for a 95 g Nescafe espresso jar at Rs. 886. The gap between the cheapest and dearest rate on one shelf is 12.2 times.

That is not a like-for-like comparison of what lands in your cup - instant dissolves at roughly two grams a cup where filter coffee is brewed at rather more, and neither number here is a cost per cup. It is a comparison of what a hundred grams of coffee powder costs, which is the only figure both formats publish.

Here is the part you can check yourself in ten seconds. On 26 of the 55 listings in this read, the struck-through figure Amazon displays beside the price - the number a discount badge is calculated from - is smaller than the selling price. A maximum retail price below the selling price is impossible. That figure is the price per 100 g.

Bayar's 500 g filter pouch sells at Rs. 409 and shows Rs. 81: 409 divided by five hundred-gram units is Rs. 81.80. Bru Green Label at Rs. 414 shows Rs. 82. Nescafe's 180 g jar at Rs. 725 shows Rs. 402, and 725 divided by 1.8 is Rs. 402.78. The pattern holds on every one of the 26.

This is a unit rate rendered in the MRP slot, not a price cut and not, as far as we can tell, anyone trying to mislead anybody - but any discount percentage calculated from it is meaningless. That is why there is not a single discount percentage anywhere on this page. We have quoted selling prices and our own arithmetic, and nothing else.

The usual grocery rule is that the larger pack costs less per unit, and on this shelf Nescafe Classic obeys it: Rs. 520.83 per 100 g in a 24 g jar, Rs. 411.11 at 45 g, Rs. 433.33 at 90 g and Rs. 402.78 at 180 g. Buying the small jar costs you 29 per cent more per gram than buying the large one - though note the 45 g jar undercuts the 90 g, so even here it is not a clean ladder.

Tata Coffee Gold Original runs the other way entirely. Its 50 g jar is Rs. 240, or Rs. 480.00 per 100 g. Its 90 g jar is Rs. 641, or Rs. 712.22 per 100 g - 48 per cent dearer per gram for the bigger jar. Tata Premium does the same thing more mildly, Rs. 484.44 at 45 g against Rs. 505.56 at 90 g.

Levista and Nescafe Sunrise sit in between: Sunrise is Rs. 311.11 per 100 g at both 45 g and 90 g, priced exactly proportionally. So on one shelf, on one day, the size-price relationship runs down, flat and up depending on the brand. There is no rule to apply here - only arithmetic.

Twenty listings in this read are ground filter coffee with a stated weight. The cheapest rate belongs to a Levista 200 g pouch at Rs. 153 - Rs. 76.50 per 100 g - though on a thin sample of 54 ratings. The best-evidenced cheap option is Bru Green Label's 500 g at Rs. 414 (Rs. 82.80 per 100 g, 4.3 from 7,344 ratings), with Continental Malgudi's 500 g at Rs. 409 (Rs. 81.80, 4.3 from 3,611) a rupee cheaper per 100 g.

Chicory is the reason several of these are cheap and it is printed on the pack: the Rs. 409 Continental is 53 per cent coffee, while the same brand's 80 per cent coffee blend is Rs. 433 for the same 500 g. That is a real difference in what you are buying and it costs Rs. 4.80 more per 100 g.

At the top of the filter range, Sidapur's 100 per cent coffee 500 g at Rs. 940 is Rs. 188.00 per 100 g - two and a half times the Levista rate, and still cheaper per gram than every instant coffee in this read except one.

Thirty-one instant listings state a weight. The cheapest rate is Bevzilla's 200 g jar at Rs. 364 - Rs. 182.00 per 100 g - which also carries the lowest average in the group at 3.5 from 2,119 ratings. Bru's 100 g poly pack at Rs. 238 is Rs. 238.00 per 100 g with 4.3 from 8,846, and is the cheapest well-evidenced instant coffee here.

The middle of the shelf is Nescafe Classic and Sunrise territory, Rs. 311 to Rs. 433 per 100 g, and the Nescafe Classic 90 g jar at Rs. 390 carries 15,040 ratings at 4.5 - the largest sample anywhere in this read.

Above Rs. 700 per 100 g everything is a Nescafe Gold or Espresso line in a small glass jar, topping out at Rs. 932.63 per 100 g. Those listings carry the highest averages on the shelf - 4.7 and 4.8 - on samples ranging from 234 to 6,094 ratings. Whether freeze-dried espresso powder is worth five times the rate of Bru is a question about taste that no price table can settle, and we have not tasted any of it.
