A hundred and five listings, one calculator and one division. The badge on this shelf is not describing a price that fell — it is describing a list price that was reverse-engineered from the one being charged.
We read Amazon's beard oil shelf on 9 October 2026 and did one piece of arithmetic on every row: selling price divided by stated MRP. Thirty-six of the 105 unique listings came back at exactly 0.300. Rs. 149 against Rs. 496. Rs. 214 against Rs. 713. Rs. 1,297 against Rs. 4,323. On more than a third of this shelf the list price is the selling price divided by 0.3, so the 70% on the tile is a division rather than a markdown. Two more state an MRP one hundred times the price, and twelve print a figure below what they actually charge. Here is what is left to compare once the badge is set aside.
Every price below was pulled from Amazon on October 9, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Amazon coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.
Six listings from Rs. 139 to Rs. 178, including the first four of the 36 tiles that sell at exactly 30.0% of their own stated list price — and the first of two MRPs set at one hundred times the price.
A 250 ml bottle of cold-pressed castor oil at Rs. 139.
Why it earned its spot The cheapest row the query returns, by a distance, and it is the wrong product.
An unbranded 30 ml beard oil at Rs. 149 against a stated Rs. 496.
Why it earned its spot The cheapest real beard oil here, and the first of the exact-70% block.
A Blozzom 30 ml beard vitalizing oil at Rs. 159 against a stated Rs. 530.
Why it earned its spot Ten rupees up, the same arithmetic to three decimal places.
An INTIMIFY 30 ml beard growth oil at Rs. 163 against a stated Rs. 543.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 5.43 a millilitre, and enough raters to be worth reading.
A 30 ml anti-grey beard oil serum at Rs. 165 against a stated Rs. 16,500.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 16,500 for 30 ml of beard oil, and three people have rated it.
A Beardo 50 ml hair serum at Rs. 178 against a stated Rs. 356.
Why it earned its spot A straight halving, and the first listing here that is not beard oil at all.
Seven listings from Rs. 214 to Rs. 349 carrying the largest rating pools in the read — and the identical 0.300 ratio as the unbranded tiles above them.
A Beardo Godfather Lite 30 ml beard and moustache oil at Rs. 214.
Why it earned its spot The best-known name at the cheap end, at Rs. 7.13 a millilitre.
A Beardo 30 ml beard and hair growth oil at Rs. 254.
Why it earned its spot One brand, two 30 ml oils, Rs. 1.34 a millilitre apart.
A FULLLIGHT TECH 30 ml beard growth oil at Rs. 269.
Why it earned its spot The second-largest rating pool here, at Rs. 8.97 a millilitre.
An XIKEZAN 30 ml beard and hair growth oil at Rs. 279.
Why it earned its spot 58,081 ratings at 4.6, and the same 0.300 ratio as everything around it.
A The Man Company 100 ml beard wash at Rs. 269 against a stated Rs. 26,900.
Why it earned its spot The second hundred-fold MRP, on a product that is not an oil.
A The Man Company 30 ml beard growth oil at Rs. 299 against a stated Rs. 996.
Why it earned its spot The same brand's actual beard oil, at Rs. 9.97 a millilitre.
A MAN ARDEN 7X 30 ml beard oil in Royal Oud at Rs. 300.
Why it earned its spot The roundest numbers on the shelf: 300, 1,000, 70%.
Seven listings from Rs. 235 to Rs. 1,297, where bigger bottles undercut the badge, one product name appears at two prices on one rating pool, and the shallowest badge on the page is on the dearer twin.
A second XIKEZAN 30 ml beard growth oil at Rs. 349.
Why it earned its spot One brand, two 30 ml listings, Rs. 70 apart, both badged 70%.
A Beardo 50 ml beard serum at Rs. 235 against a stated Rs. 470.
Why it earned its spot Twice the volume of the 30 ml bottles at a lower rate per millilitre.
A Man Matters BeardGro 30 ml beard growth serum at Rs. 449.
Why it earned its spot The same product name as the Rs. 849 listing below, sharing one rating pool.
A Bare Anatomy 25 ml hair growth serum roll-on at Rs. 597.
Why it earned its spot A scalp serum returned by a beard oil search, at four times the median rate.
A Buddha Natural 25 ml grey beard oil serum at Rs. 749.
Why it earned its spot One of four near-identical listings at the same price, one of them rated by one person.
A second Man Matters BeardGro 30 ml serum listing at Rs. 849.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 400 more than its twin, on the same 475 ratings, with a shallower badge.
A L'Oreal Men Expert Barber Club 30 ml long beard and skin oil at Rs. 1,297.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 43.23 a millilitre, 77 times the cheapest rate in the read.
Four checks. First, divide before you believe. Selling price over stated MRP comes to 0.300 on 36 of these 105 listings, 0.500 on 13 and 0.250 on 11 — 60 of 105 landing on three round fractions, which is not what a shelf of independent markdowns looks like. Second, price the millilitre, not the bottle. A Beardo 50 ml serum at Rs. 235 works out at Rs. 4.70 a millilitre while a Beardo 30 ml oil at Rs. 214 works out at Rs. 7.13, so the cheaper bottle is the dearer product; across the 73 listings that state a volume the rate runs Rs. 0.56 to Rs. 43.23 against a median of Rs. 8.47. Third, read the rating count and check it is not shared. Two Man Matters listings Rs. 400 apart display the same 475 ratings, and four Buddha Natural listings at an identical Rs. 749 carry pools of 3, 52, 3 and 1 with averages from 2.9 to 5.0 — a five-star tile backed by one person is not better than a 2.9 backed by fifty-two. Fourth, check it is actually beard oil. These queries returned castor oil, jojoba oil, beard wash, scalp serum and a niacinamide face serum; three of the twenty cards here are seated precisely to show that. This is a price page: we did not buy, open, smell or apply anything, and no growth, anti-grey, dermatological or ingredient claim printed on any of these labels is tested or endorsed here. Nothing on this page is medical or cosmetic advice.

Each selling price, stated MRP, discount badge, star average and rating count here came from what amazon.in's own search returned for 'beard oil', 'beard growth oil' and 'beard serum' on 9 October 2026, logged out, in India, with nothing purchased. 142 rows came back, 105 of them unique listings once repeats across the three queries are removed, and 20 are seated. Nothing is taken from another marketplace.
For every row we divided the selling price by the stated MRP. 36 of the 105 unique listings return 0.300 to three decimal places, 13 return 0.500 and 11 return 0.250 — 60 of 105 on three round fractions. Those are divisions of two published numbers, computed across every row rather than across the ones that make the point, and the three worked examples on this page can be checked with a calculator.
Twelve of the 105 listings print a second figure lower than their own selling price — Rs. 99 against 9, Rs. 194 against 97, Rs. 509 against 16. On those rows Amazon is printing a per-unit or per-100 ml rate rather than a maximum retail price. They are counted in the row totals and named in the disclosure, but no percentage, multiple or saving on this page is computed from them.
73 of the 105 unique listings state a volume in the title; the rest do not and are excluded from every per-millilitre figure here. We did not measure or decant anything, and a bottle's stated volume is its seller's claim. Comparing a carrier oil, a blended beard oil, a wash and a serum by the millilitre is also only partly fair, since they are not used in the same quantity — the page says so where it makes such a comparison.
Listings on this shelf advertise beard growth, anti-grey action, named actives at stated percentages and dermatologist approval. Every one of those is the seller's own printed text, reproduced as printed and not tested, verified or endorsed by us, and nothing on this page should be read as medical, dermatological or cosmetic advice. We did not buy, open, smell or apply any product here.
In this read of 105 unique listings on 9 October 2026, prices ran from Rs. 139 to Rs. 1,297. A 30 ml bottle is the standard size — 33 of the listings that state a volume are 30 ml — and those sell from Rs. 149 to Rs. 1,297, which is Rs. 4.97 to Rs. 43.23 a millilitre. The best-known names sit in the middle: Beardo's Godfather Lite at Rs. 214, The Man Company's growth oil at Rs. 299, MAN ARDEN at Rs. 300. Those figures describe these listings on that date rather than Amazon's full catalogue, and search results change continuously.
Because on those listings the stated MRP is the selling price divided by 0.3. We divided selling price by stated MRP on all 105 unique listings and 36 returned exactly 0.300 — Rs. 149/Rs. 496, Rs. 159/Rs. 530, Rs. 214/Rs. 713, Rs. 299/Rs. 996, Rs. 1,297/Rs. 4,323 and so on across a tenfold price range. A further 13 return exactly 0.500 and 11 exactly 0.250. Setting a maximum retail price and choosing a discount to display are ordinary and lawful commercial decisions and no wrongdoing is alleged of anyone. The practical consequence is that a 70% badge on this shelf carries no information about whether a price ever fell, so compare the left-hand number instead.
Two listings in this read advertise it, and in both cases the stated MRP is exactly one hundred times the selling price: Rs. 165 against a stated Rs. 16,500 for a 30 ml serum, and Rs. 269 against a stated Rs. 26,900 for a 100 ml beard wash. We have not verified that any product on this shelf ever sold at its stated MRP, and no claim is made that these particular list prices are improper or unlawful — a seller sets its own list price. What we can say is what the arithmetic does: a hundred-fold MRP produces a 99% badge automatically, whatever the product is worth.
Because on those rows the second figure is not a maximum retail price at all. Twelve of the 105 listings in this read print a figure below their own selling price — Rs. 99 against 9, Rs. 206 against 20, Rs. 194 against 97, Rs. 509 against 16. Those are per-unit or per-100 ml rates that Amazon displays beside the price on some grocery and personal-care listings, and our scrape reads them out of the same field. We count those rows but compute no percentage, multiple or saving from them, and none of the twenty cards on this page is one of them.
In this read, an XIKEZAN 30 ml beard growth oil at Rs. 279, rated 4.6 from 58,081 ratings, followed by a FULLLIGHT TECH 30 ml at Rs. 269 with 46,741 and Beardo's Godfather Lite at Rs. 214 with 15,534. Read those counts carefully, though: two Man Matters listings Rs. 400 apart display the identical 475 ratings, which means one pooled score is serving two prices. Pooling reviews across variants of a product is an ordinary marketplace practice, and it simply means a rating count beside a tile is not always evidence about that tile. Nothing here endorses any product's effectiveness; we did not use any of them.
