Sling Bag Price October 2026: 19 AJIO Bags Beat Myntra's Dearest

We read both retailers' own listing pages for sling bags and clutches on 20 October 2026 — 64 Myntra listings and 43 AJIO listings, logged out, from India, nothing purchased.

Myntra's most expensive bag on this read cost Rs. 1,799. Nineteen of AJIO's 43 listings cost more than that, topping out at an ALDO shoulder bag at Rs. 8,399 — 4.7 times Myntra's ceiling.

At the cheap end it inverts. Thirty-five of Myntra's 64 listings sell at or under Rs. 800; only nine of AJIO's 43 do. These two shelves are not competing for the same buyer.

The median prices are Rs. 690 apart and the median badges are two points apart. That is the clearest thing on this page about what a discount percentage measures: not the money, but the distance between two numbers the seller chose.

One honest caveat on both shelves. Each retailer's results mix clutches, purses, waist bags and satchels in with sling bags proper. We have counted what each page returned and flagged it rather than presenting it as a pure sling-bag comparison.

Seven Steve Madden listings sit on two price points — Rs. 2,800 against a stated Rs. 7,999, and Rs. 2,625 against Rs. 7,499 — all printing 65%. That is a quarter of AJIO's entire shelf from one brand, which is ordinary retail and not something we criticise.

The ALDO bag at Rs. 8,399 prints the smallest badge on AJIO's shelf, 30%. The pattern holds here as everywhere: the dearer the bag, the smaller the percentage, because the list price is closer to the asking price.

None of these brands appeared on the Myntra pages we read, and none of AJIO's 43 listings published a rating — so a Rs. 2,800 satchel there comes with a photograph and a brand name and nothing else.

Thirty-five of Myntra's 64 listings sell at or under Rs. 800, and the well-reviewed ones are at the cheap end: a Mochi box clutch at Rs. 574 with 761 ratings, a KUJRA twelve-piece purse set at Rs. 362 with 636.

The two ROLEXO rows are the same clutch listed twice, both at Rs. 402, both printing 87% off a stated Rs. 2,999, both with zero ratings. That is in all likelihood an ordinary colour variant listed individually — but it means the biggest badge on the shelf sits on the listing with the least information behind it.

These are different products, so we are not claiming a price gap on the same bag. Myntra's Mochi listings are a purse and two clutches; AJIO's are two sling bags with detachable straps. They are shown because Mochi was the only brand name appearing on both pages at all, which is itself the finding: on a 107-listing read of the same category, the two retailers overlapped on exactly one label.

What is comparable is the stated MRP band: Mochi's list prices run Rs. 1,290 to Rs. 2,490 on Myntra and Rs. 2,290 to Rs. 2,690 on AJIO, and the badges follow accordingly.
