Skoda has showcased the new facelift of its most premium sedan in India the "Superb" at the Auto Expo 2020. It gets a redesigned front bumper along with a new front grille and chrome inserts in the rear. The new update brings the Matrix-LED headlights making Superb the first Skoda model to get them.
Even the interior of the car gets updated for the good with a new Virtual cockpit display, a bigger infotainment display, an all-black interior, and Alcantara trim inserts in the Sportline model. These changes have been done on the top-end variants such as Sportline and Lauren & Klement. Adding more charm to the elegant lines of Superb are newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels.
The new facelift model will come with a 2.0-liter TSI engine replacing the older 1.8-liter TSI engine. The new engine is already on sale in various Skoda models like Octavia RS, Kodiaq. Power figures for the 2.0-liter TSI unit are 190 Bhp & 320 Nm of peak torque. Skoda has carried forward the same 7-speed DSG gearbox from the last generation. Skoda will only offer the new Superb in a petrol-only variant for the BS6 update and confirmed that there will be no diesel models in the future.
Skoda India has confirmed that they will ditch the diesel engine from all variants of Superb. The new engine lineup for the BS6 update consists of a 1.0-liter TSI, 1.5-liter TSI and 2.0-liter TSI engine. The new update is expected to make the new Superb a little expensive over its current petrol model (Rs. 25.99-30.99 lakhs).
