The covers are off the most awaited (probably) performance-oriented sedan in the country. Czech Automaker Skoda has finally launched Octavia VRS 245 in the country today at Auto Expo 2020. Priced at Rs. 36.00 lakhs(ex-showroom) Octavia VRS 245 is the Skoda's most powerful production sedan. The car was teased earlier by Zac Hollis, Director Sales, and Marketing, Skoda Auto India and confirmed the launch at Auto Expo on 5th Feb 2020 in later posts.

Skoda Octavia VRS has been a huge success among the car-enthusiasts mainly due to its powerful 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. Earlier, Octavia VRS was launched with the same engine but with lower engine output and some changes suited to the Indian market accordingly. Just like last time, Skoda has blown in a full Euro-spec model with a higher engine output, 245 bhp and 370 Nm in this case. Supporting this powerful engine is a plethora of mechanical add ons such as electric Limited-slip differential which works in accordance to keep the car stable at high speeds. Last time VRS 230 was launched with a 6-speed DSG DQ250 gearbox, but the newer model comes with a 7-speed DSG DQ380 gearbox which is one of the most advanced gearbox units in the world.

Apart from mechanical differences, VRS 245 looks much hotter and meaner than a normal Skoda Octavia. Exterior changes include a much bigger intake grille with honeycomb design mesh on the front, while the rear gets a sporty boot spoiler with twin chrome exhaust tips. Upgraded from 17-inch alloys, the new VRS 245 now gets a stylish 18-inch diamond-cut alloy similar to European models. The interior gets a major overhaul with the new 12.3-inch digital infotainment display paired with an 8.1-inch centre display for complete luxury and modern outlook to the sporty interior. Seats are stitched in racing red and black Alcantara contrast with VRS embroidered logos on the headrest. The interior gets a premium feel with an all-black theme inside with ambient lighting which can be controlled via the infotainment system. To keep the cabin feel roomier, the panoramic themed sunroof is present just like its last iteration.

Limited to just 200 units nationwide, VRS 245 is an exclusive model to own, Priced at Rs. 36.00 lakhs(ex-showroom), there won't be any display units available throughout the country, So if you wish to buy one to satisfy your performance thirst go and book one at your nearest Skoda dealer with a booking amount of Rs. 5.00 lakhs.
