NMAT 2020 Exam Pattern consists of an online exam where the paper is divided into three parts; language skills, quantitative skills and logical reasoning. There are overall 120 questions asked in the exam which need to be solved in 120 minutes.

Note- Students can choose the order of the sections at the onset of the examination. They cannot make any changes further.

NMAT 2020 Exam Pattern 

NMAT is a computer-based exam in which questions are generated randomly from a pool of questions. The difficulty level, number of questions and time limit for each section are predetermined. Candidate has to choose the correct answer and has the option of choosing the order of the test sections.

The exam is divided into three sections- Quantitative Skill, Logical Reasoning and Language Skills. The test is of two hours, and each section is separately timed. The questions are multiple-choice based. The candidate must review the answers of each section before submitting them as once a section is closed the candidate cannot return to it.

NMAT 2020 Exam Pattern Points to Remember

  • Candidates should keep in mind that there is no provision to return to any section. Every section has to be completed within a stipulated time limit. Once completed or ran out of time and moved on to the next section there is no facility of returning back.
  • In case candidates complete a section before time, the remaining time will not be carried to the next section rather it will be lapse. Hence it is suggested to utilize the remaining time in revising the questions attempted.

NMAT 2020 Syllabus

NMAT exam is for 2 hours and consists of 120 questions from a total of 3 sections; language skills, quantitative skills and logical reasoning. The NMAT has no specifically prescribed syllabus; however, candidates can study the following-

NMAT 2020 Preparation Tips and Strategies

Preparation and understanding the NMAT 2020 Exam Pattern is the key to crack this exam. An appropriate schedule, time and practice are required to be fully prepared for the exam. To be able to study effectively, here are a few tips-

  1. Make a Schedule and Follow it- Start your preparation by making a proper schedule for it. Know your strengths and weaknesses and devote time as needed for each topic. Pay more attention to the topic in which you think is less prepared. 
  2. Find Shortcuts- For mathematical calculations and problem-solving, the candidate should find shortcuts and ways to solve the questions quickly yet correctly.
  3. Focus on Mock Tests- Candidates should practice as many mock and sample papers as possible. This will help in time management and also revising concepts. Practicing through papers will also let the candidate know his/ her weak points they need to work on.
  4. Practice Alternate Topics- Do not stick to one topic for too long, especially days. Keep going over different topics regularly so as to cover the maximum number of topics.
  5. Time Management- Learn to manage time; this can only be achieved through practicing previous papers and sample papers. If stuck on a question, do not waste time, come back to it later. The purpose of the test is to examine our ability to answer as many questions as you can in the allotted time.
