Two large Indian fashion sites, one category, one morning. We read 53 Myntra listings and 190 AJIO listings for women's nightwear on 17 October 2026 — logged out, from India, with nothing bought — and compared them on every figure each site publishes.
At the shelf level there is nothing between them: the median night suit costs Rs. 524 on Myntra and Rs. 538 on AJIO. Hold the brand still and the picture changes. ICHAA's eleven Myntra tiles have a median of Rs. 379 against Rs. 479 across eighteen AJIO tiles — 21% cheaper on Myntra — while MAX and Marks & Spencer are both cheaper on AJIO.
Two more findings below: that same house states Rs. 1,999 on Myntra and Rs. 5,970 on AJIO while selling within twenty rupees either side, and 49 of Myntra's 53 listings publish a rating count against 0 of AJIO's 190. This is a price read; nobody here wore a garment.

📅 Update log:
17 October 2026 — First publication. Both shelves read the same morning: 53 distinct Myntra product ids from the window.__myx payload served by myntra.com/women-nightdress and /women-nightsuits, and 190 distinct AJIO listings from ajio.com's own search response for "night suit women", "nightdress" and "loungewear women" — both logged out, from India, with nothing purchased and neither retailer contacted. Recorded this read: Myntra's price floor of Rs. 319, median of Rs. 524 and ceiling of Rs. 1,359 against AJIO's Rs. 197, Rs. 538 and Rs. 3,850; Myntra's badge range of 0-87% (median 75%) against AJIO's 1-93% (median 58.5%); median stated MRPs of Rs. 1,999 and Rs. 1,619.50 respectively; 19 distinct brands on Myntra against 44 on AJIO; 49 of Myntra's 53 listings publishing a star average and rating count against 0 of AJIO's 190, the deepest pool being 24,306; the three brands common to both shelves (ICHAA, MAX and Marks & Spencer) with their per-shelf listing counts, price ranges, badge ranges and stated MRPs as reproduced in the second table; and ICHAA's top-and-pyjama sets stating Rs. 1,999 on Myntra against Rs. 5,970 on AJIO under different listing names. No garment was bought, worn or washed.
Myntra against AJIO on women's nightwear, read the same morning
Two large Indian fashion sites, one category, one morning. We read 53 Myntra listings and 190 AJIO listings for women's nightwear on 17 October 2026 — logged out, from India, with nothing bought — and put the two shelves side by side on every figure each site publishes.
At the shelf level there is almost nothing between them. The median night suit costs Rs. 524 on Myntra and Rs. 538 on AJIO. Fourteen rupees. A page that stopped there would have nothing to say.
It becomes interesting when you hold the brand still. Three houses appear on both shelves, and the cheaper site is different for each of them — and one of the three states a claimed list price nearly three times larger on one site than the other.
The headline comparison, 17 October 2026: median night suit Rs. 524 on Myntra vs Rs. 538 on AJIO · median badge 75% vs 58.5% · listings publishing a rating: 49 of 53 vs 0 of 190.
Every figure, side by side
| What we measured | Myntra (53 listings) | AJIO (190 listings) | What it means |
|---|
| Cheapest tile in the read | Rs. 319 | Rs. 197 | AJIO's floor is lower, on a much larger sample |
| Median selling price | Rs. 524 | Rs. 538 | Fourteen rupees apart - the shelves are level at the midpoint |
| Dearest tile in the read | Rs. 1,359 | Rs. 3,850 | AJIO's range runs far higher at the top |
| Discount badge range | 0% to 87% | 1% to 93% | AJIO's deepest claim is six points deeper |
| Median discount badge | 75% | 58.5% | Myntra's typical tile advertises the bigger saving |
| Median stated MRP | Rs. 1,999 | Rs. 1,619.50 | Myntra states higher list prices at the median |
| Distinct brands returned | 19 | 44 | AJIO returned a far longer tail of houses |
| Listings publishing a rating | 49 of 53 | 0 of 190 | The single largest difference between the two shelves |
| Deepest rating pool | 24,306 ratings | None published | On a Myntra night suit at Rs. 519 |
The sample sizes are not comparable and we are not pretending they are. Myntra was read through two listing pages; AJIO through three search queries that returned 190 listings. Every median, range and count on this page is quoted with its sample size attached, and nothing here should be read as a measure of either full catalogue.
Two rows cut against the obvious story. Myntra's median badge is deeper — 75% against 58.5% — and its median stated MRP is higher, Rs. 1,999 against Rs. 1,619.50. So the site advertising the bigger savings is also the site making the bigger claims, at almost exactly the same selling prices.
And the last row is the one to carry away. Forty-nine of Myntra's 53 listings publish what buyers thought. None of AJIO's 190 do. That is a difference in kind rather than degree, and it bites hardest at the cheap end, where both shelves fill up with names nobody recognises.
Three brands on both shelves, and the cheaper site changes every time
This is the part worth acting on. Three houses turned up in both reads, and no single retailer was cheaper for all three.
| Brand | Shelf | Listings | Price range | Badge range | Stated MRP |
|---|
| ICHAA | Myntra | 11 | Rs. 319 – Rs. 399 (median 379) | 80% – 87% | States Rs. 1,999 or Rs. 2,999 |
| ICHAA | AJIO | 18 | Rs. 399 – Rs. 590 (median 479) | 69% – 93% | States up to Rs. 6,560 |
| MAX | Myntra | 1 | Rs. 699 | 13% | States Rs. 799 |
| MAX | AJIO | 24 | Rs. 404 – Rs. 759 (median 573) | 14% – 27% | Median stated MRP Rs. 699 |
| Marks & Spencer | Myntra | 6 | Rs. 959 – Rs. 1,359 (median 1,193.50) | 20% – 52% | Median stated MRP Rs. 1,849 |
| Marks & Spencer | AJIO | 3 | Rs. 800 – Rs. 1,379 (median 1,039) | 31% – 60% | All three state Rs. 1,999 |
ICHAA is cheaper on Myntra. Eleven tiles there run Rs. 319 to Rs. 399 at a median of Rs. 379; eighteen tiles on AJIO run Rs. 399 to Rs. 590 at a median of Rs. 479. That is roughly 21% cheaper on Myntra for the same house, and Myntra's cheapest ICHAA tile undercuts AJIO's cheapest by Rs. 80.
MAX and Marks & Spencer run the other way. MAX's single Myntra tile sits at Rs. 699 while its 24 AJIO tiles run Rs. 404 to Rs. 759 at a median of Rs. 573. Marks & Spencer's six Myntra tiles have a median of Rs. 1,193.50 against Rs. 1,039 across three AJIO tiles. Same brands, opposite answer.
There is no shelf-level winner here, and anyone telling you otherwise is generalising from one brand. The practical rule: pick the garment and the house first, then check both sites on the rupee price.
The same house, Rs. 1,999 on one site and Rs. 5,970 on the other
ICHAA's floral top-and-pyjama sets state an MRP of Rs. 1,999 on Myntra. The same house's floral top-and-pyjama sets on AJIO state Rs. 5,970 — 2.99 times as large — and its loungewear sets there go up to Rs. 6,560, against a Myntra ceiling of Rs. 2,999 for anything this brand lists.
The selling prices are within twenty rupees of each other. Rs. 399 on Myntra, Rs. 399 to Rs. 419 on AJIO. The claimed list price triples; the money does not move. That single fact produces a 93% badge on AJIO and an 80% badge on Myntra for tiles whose printed descriptions are nearly identical.
What this is not: proof that one identical garment carries two claims. The listing names differ — "Women Floral Printed Top & Pyjamas Night suit" on one site, "Floral Print Top & Pyjamas Set" on the other — and nothing in either listing establishes they are the same product. What it is: evidence that the stated MRP is set per listing, per retailer, and that a badge computed from it cannot be compared across two sites. We do not assert that either figure is false; we have no evidence either way.
How to actually use the two sites
Decide the brand, then compare the rupees. At the shelf level the medians are fourteen rupees apart, so any claim that one site is cheaper than the other is really a claim about one brand. ICHAA was 21% cheaper on Myntra in this read; MAX and Marks & Spencer were cheaper on AJIO.
Never compare badges across the two sites. The same house's claimed list price was Rs. 1,999 on one and Rs. 5,970 on the other for similar sets. A 93% badge on one site and an 80% badge on the other described near-identical money.
If the brand is one you do not recognise, Myntra is the only one of the two that will tell you what other buyers thought. Forty-nine of its 53 listings published a rating count; none of AJIO's 190 did. Read those counts carefully, though — twenty of Myntra's 53 tiles share six rating pools between them, so a large number may be one pool shown five times.
And treat both reads as one morning. Both sites rank and personalise results and restock continuously; the sample sizes here are very different; every figure describes the listings read on 17 October 2026 and nothing beyond them.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Myntra or AJIO cheaper for night suits?
Neither, at the shelf level — and that is the useful answer. Reading 53 Myntra listings and 190 AJIO listings on 17 October 2026, the median selling price was Rs. 524 on Myntra and Rs. 538 on AJIO, fourteen rupees apart. It flips once you hold the brand still. The one house with a large presence on both shelves sold at a median of Rs. 379 on Myntra against Rs. 479 on AJIO — about 21% cheaper on Myntra. Two other shared houses ran the other way, both cheaper on AJIO. The right question is not which site is cheaper but which site is cheaper for the brand you want.
Why is the same nightwear brand's MRP three times higher on AJIO?
We can report the figures but not the reason. ICHAA's floral top-and-pyjama sets state Rs. 1,999 on Myntra and Rs. 5,970 on AJIO — 2.99 times as large — while selling at Rs. 399 on Myntra and Rs. 399 to Rs. 419 on AJIO. The money is within twenty rupees; the claimed list price triples. That is what produces a 93% badge on one site and 80% on the other for near-identical descriptions. The listing names differ, so this is not proof that one identical garment carries two claims, and this page does not say it is. It does show that the badge is a property of the retailer's listing, not of the garment.
Does AJIO show ratings on nightwear listings?
Not in this read. Not one of AJIO's 190 listings published a star average or a rating count, while 49 of Myntra's 53 did, the deepest carrying 24,306 ratings. That is the single biggest difference between the two shelves and it is not a difference in price. It matters most at the cheap end, where both sites fill up with houses nobody has heard of: on AJIO, a Rs. 399 tile badged 93% comes with no buyer evidence at all. The absence is AJIO's own publishing choice on this date, not an omission of ours, and a retailer may publish feedback elsewhere in its app or product pages.
Which site has more nightwear choice?
AJIO, on this read, by a wide margin: 190 listings across 44 distinct brands against Myntra's 53 across 19. Two qualifications. First, the samples are not comparable in size, because the two sites were read through different mechanisms — two Myntra listing pages against three AJIO search queries — and every figure on this page is quoted with its sample size beside it. Second, the count of listings is not the count of garments you can choose between: on Myntra, twenty of the 53 tiles sit inside six rating pools shared by two to five listings each, and on AJIO one house alone supplied 28 listings.
Which is better for buying nightwear, Myntra or AJIO?
This page cannot tell you, and it does not try. It read selling prices, stated MRPs, discount badges and — where published — star averages and rating counts. Nobody here bought, wore or washed a single garment, and no claim is made about cotton content, fabric weight, stitching, shrinkage, colour fastness, sizing or comfort. What the numbers support is narrower: the two shelves are level at the median, the cheaper site depends entirely on which brand you want, and only one of the two publishes what buyers thought. 'Pure Cotton', 'Satin' and 'Loungewear' are the listings' own printed words, unverified.

Zoutons may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page. Every selling price, stated MRP, discount badge, star average and rating count here was read on 17 October 2026 from each retailer's own response — the window.__myx payload served by myntra.com/women-nightdress and /women-nightsuits (53 distinct product ids) and ajio.com's search response for "night suit women", "nightdress" and "loungewear women" (190 distinct listings) — both logged out, from India, with nothing purchased and neither retailer contacted. Both sets are one morning of ranked, personalised output and are not either retailer's full catalogue; a different reader, device or hour will return a different set, and every median, range, count and comparison here describes only the listings read. The two samples are of very different sizes (53 against 190), which is stated beside every figure rather than hidden. Stated MRPs are the sellers' own figures, reproduced exactly as printed. This page does NOT assert that any stated MRP is false, inflated or fabricated, or that any garment has or has not sold at its stated MRP - we have no evidence either way. Where a brand appears on both shelves, the listing names differ and this page does not claim the two listings are the same garment; it reports only the prices, claims and badges each retailer printed for that house. The absence of star averages and rating counts on AJIO's listings is AJIO's own publishing choice as its response returned it on this date, is not an omission of ours, and is not presented as a fault; a retailer may publish buyer feedback elsewhere in its product pages or app. THIS PAGE IS A PRICE READ: it makes no claim about cotton content, fabric weight, weave, stitching, lining, shrinkage, colour fastness, sizing, fit, comfort or how long any garment lasts, and it does not say that either retailer is better, more reliable or safer to buy from, or that any garment is well made or suits anyone. 'Pure Cotton', 'Cotton Rich', 'Satin', 'Loungewear' and 'Regular Fit' are the listings' own printed words, reproduced as printed and unverified. We did not buy, wear or wash anything. Prices change without notice and can differ at checkout after coupons, bank offers or delivery charges; the price shown at your checkout prevails over anything here.
