28 Aug 2026 — first published. Every price, stated MRP, rating and rating count on this page was read from myntra.com's own listing data for eight category pages on 28 August 2026, with no account logged in and no coupon applied: socks, boxers, handkerchiefs, caps and hats, men's innerwear vests, men's T-shirts page 3, women's T-shirts page 3 and women's tops page 4. The pull returned 274 listings with a price, an MRP and an image, 198 of them with a rating; 172 sell at Rs. 500 or under and this page covers those. Counts of zero-badge and deep-badge listings, brand medians and the price median are our arithmetic over Myntra's own published numbers. Rating counts are reproduced as the listings show them, including where Myntra pools a count across a style family. We re-read these shelves and log any change in the price band, the zero-badge group or the brand medians.

Twenty-three listings under Rs. 500 have no discount at all

We pulled eight Myntra category pages on 28 August 2026 - socks, boxers, handkerchiefs, caps, men's vests, men's and women's T-shirts and women's tops - and got 274 listings with a price, a stated MRP and an image. A hundred and seventy-two of them sell at Rs. 500 or under, from Rs. 152 to Rs. 499, with a median of Rs. 390.

Twenty-three of those 172 carry no badge whatsoever. The price equals the stated MRP: a Jockey three-pack of handkerchiefs at Rs. 329, an H&M cotton tee at Rs. 499, Van Heusen handkerchiefs at Rs. 389, a Louis Philippe three-pack at Rs. 479. Nothing is marked down because nothing needs to be - these are prices the brands' own shops charge, and Myntra is not going to undercut a Peter England counter in a mall.

Here is the part worth acting on. Those same 23 listings carry the heaviest customer evidence on the shelf. The H&M cotton tee at Rs. 499 has 79,821 ratings at 4.3. A Jockey combed-cotton gym vest at Rs. 349 has 7,586 at 4.5. A U.S. Polo Assn. three-pack at Rs. 419 has 3,648 at 4.6. On this shelf the badge and the evidence point in opposite directions almost perfectly.

💡 A zero on the badge is a signal, not a failure. On the under-Rs. 500 shelf it means the brand has shops charging that price, which is exactly the condition under which a stated MRP means anything. The listings with no discount here are also the ones thousands of people have actually rated.

Fifty-six listings badge 70 per cent or more, and the pattern is the same in reverse

At the other end, 56 of the 172 carry a badge of 70 per cent or higher, and the brands behind them are online-first labels. Teakwood Leathers has six listings in this pull, every one at exactly 70 per cent - a figure that does not move with the product is a setting rather than a markdown. Ninas runs 78 to 79, Imsa Moda 82 to 83, WROGN 73 to 76.

The largest stated MRP anywhere on the under-Rs. 500 shelf is Rs. 2,998, on a BULLMER two-pack of printed crew-neck tees selling at Rs. 391 - an 87 per cent badge, from a label with no shop we can find charging Rs. 2,998 for two T-shirts. The cheapest listing in the whole read is an FTX sleeveless hooded gym vest at Rs. 152, 75 per cent off a stated Rs. 597.

None of that means these are bad garments. The FTX vest carries 526 ratings at 3.9 and the BULLMER two-pack 393 at 3.6, which is real if modest evidence. It means the second number on the card is not information. What you are being told you saved on a Rs. 391 two-pack is Rs. 2,607, and nobody anywhere was ever asked for Rs. 2,998.

How to read this table. The median badge column is our arithmetic over Myntra's own two numbers on each listing, and the right-hand column describes where the brand is publicly sold in India. We are not claiming any seller acted improperly - a list price is a claim a seller is entitled to make. We are pointing out that a claim nothing outside the listing can check should not carry the same weight as one a shop in a mall is charging today.

What Rs. 500 actually buys, shelf by shelf

The eight shelves in this pull are not equally good value at the same money, and the split is clean. On handkerchiefs, socks and vests, Rs. 300 to Rs. 500 buys a multi-pack from a brand you have heard of at its shop price - three Jockey handkerchiefs at Rs. 329, six Peter England ones at Rs. 499, three U.S. Polo Assn. socks at Rs. 419. There is no discount theatre on those shelves because they are commodity basics with real distribution.

On T-shirts and tops, the same money buys either one branded tee at full price - the H&M cotton tee at Rs. 499 - or a two- to five-piece pack from an online-only label with a large badge. A Moda Rapido pack of four at Rs. 212, a MORDLANKA pack of five at Rs. 226, a TRAZO pack of five patterned socks at Rs. 234. Whether that is good value depends entirely on whether you need one good tee or several adequate ones, and the badge cannot help you decide.

Caps and boxers sit in between, and this is where the rating count earns its keep. A Decathlon Forclaz hiking cap at Rs. 249 carries 6,938 ratings at 4.2; a seventeen-per-cent badge and seven thousand people is a far stronger case than 70 per cent and none. Of the 172 listings under Rs. 500, 127 carry a rating at all - so 45 of them ask you to buy on the badge alone.

The full read: 274 listings, eight shelves, and how we counted
  • Source and date. myntra.com's own listing data for eight category pages, read 28 August 2026 with no account logged in: socks (27 listings under Rs. 500), women's T-shirts page 3 (27), boxers (24), handkerchiefs (22), caps and hats (21), men's T-shirts page 3 (19), women's tops page 4 (16) and men's innerwear vests (16).
  • The whole pull. 274 listings returned a price, a stated MRP and an image; 198 returned a rating. 172 sell at Rs. 500 or under, from Rs. 152 to Rs. 499, median Rs. 390. 127 of the 172 carry a rating.
  • Zero-badge listings under Rs. 500: 23. Jockey 4, H&M 3, U.S. Polo Assn. 2 plus one kids' listing, Peter England 2, Louis Philippe 2, Van Heusen 2, Bonjour 2, and one each from Allen Solly, Decathlon, Van Heusen Innerwear, Comfort Lady and CAPTAIN.
  • Badges of 70 per cent or more: 56 listings. Teakwood Leathers 6 (all exactly 70%), Ninas 4 (78-79%), WROGN 3 (73-76%), FTX 3, Imsa Moda 3 (82-83%), Rigo 3, Calm Down 3, Moda Rapido 2, HRX 2, HERE&NOW 2, Miss & Chief 2, and the rest single listings.
  • Extremes. Cheapest: FTX sleeveless hooded gym vest, Rs. 152, 75% off a stated Rs. 597, 3.9 from 526 ratings. Largest stated MRP under Rs. 500: BULLMER pack of 2 printed crew-neck tees, Rs. 391 off a stated Rs. 2,998, 87%, 3.6 from 393 ratings.
  • Pooled rating counts. Three Imsa Moda henley listings all show 4.2 from 5,433; two ROCKWELL ribbed vests both show 4.1 from 833; two H&M cotton tees both show 4.5 from 3,298. Myntra pools counts across a style family, so the number under the stars is a family total rather than a count for that colour or cut.
  • What we did not do. We did not log in, apply a coupon or buy anything, and we have not handled, worn or washed any garment here. Fabric and construction words are quoted from listing titles as printed.

Three rules for the under-Rs. 500 shelf

First, sort by rating count rather than by discount. On this shelf the correlation between the two is negative: the listings with tens of thousands of ratings are the ones with no badge at all, and several of the 70-plus per cent listings have no rating whatsoever. If you can only use one number, use the count.

Second, check whether the brand has shops. Jockey, H&M, Peter England, Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Decathlon and Levi's all have physical retail in India, which is why their badges here are 0 to 28 per cent and why their stated prices mean something. Teakwood Leathers, Imsa Moda, CAP WORLD, Ninas and FTX do not, which is why theirs run 57 to 83.

Third, decide between one good piece and several adequate ones before you look at the shelf, not after. Rs. 499 is one H&M tee with 79,821 ratings behind it or a five-pack from a label with none, and both are defensible purchases for different reasons. What is not defensible is letting an 87 per cent badge make that decision for you.

The short version

Of 274 Myntra listings we read across eight shelves on 28 August 2026, 172 sell at Rs. 500 or under - Rs. 152 to Rs. 499, median Rs. 390.

Twenty-three of them carry no discount at all, almost all from brands with physical shops, and those same listings carry the largest rating counts on the shelf - including an H&M tee at Rs. 499 with 79,821 ratings.

Fifty-six badge 70 per cent or more, all from online-first labels, topping out at an 87 per cent claim against a stated Rs. 2,998 for two T-shirts selling at Rs. 391. Sort by rating count, not by badge.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can you actually buy on Myntra under Rs. 500?
Quite a lot, and the honest answer is basics rather than statement pieces. In our 28 August 2026 read of eight category pages, 172 of 274 listings sold at Rs. 500 or under, from Rs. 152 to Rs. 499 with a median of Rs. 390. That budget covers a branded cotton T-shirt at full price - an H&M cotton tee is Rs. 499 - or a multi-pack of socks, handkerchiefs, vests or boxers from Jockey, Peter England, Van Heusen, Louis Philippe or U.S. Polo Assn. at their shop prices, or a two-to-five-piece pack of tees from an online-only label with a large discount badge. It does not stretch to denim, footwear or outerwear from any brand with a retail presence. Prices move constantly; this was one morning's read.
Why do some Myntra listings show no discount at all?
Because the brand's own shops charge that price, and a marketplace listing cannot sit far below a mall counter without causing the brand a problem. Twenty-three of the 172 under-Rs. 500 listings in our read had the price equal to the stated MRP, and they came almost entirely from Jockey, H&M, Peter England, Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, U.S. Polo Assn., Decathlon and Bonjour - all brands with physical retail in India. It is worth treating a zero badge as a positive signal rather than a missed deal: those same 23 listings carried the heaviest customer evidence on the shelf, including an H&M cotton tee with 79,821 ratings and a Jockey gym vest with 7,586.
Are Myntra's 70 and 80 per cent discounts real?
The price you pay is real; the reference price is what varies. In our read, 56 of the 172 under-Rs. 500 listings badged 70 per cent or more, and every one came from a label we can find no physical retail presence for - Teakwood Leathers, Ninas, Imsa Moda, CAP WORLD, Rigo, Calm Down, HERE&NOW among them. Teakwood Leathers had six listings all badged exactly 70 per cent, which is a setting rather than a markdown responding to stock. The starkest example was a BULLMER two-pack of tees at Rs. 391 against a stated Rs. 2,998 - an 87 per cent badge on a list price nothing outside the listing supports. Judge the garment on its rupee price and its rating count instead.
Does Myntra's rating count mean what it looks like?
Not always, and this is the single most useful caveat on the shelf. Myntra pools rating counts across a style family and shows the family total on every listing in it. In our read three separate Imsa Moda henley listings all showed exactly 4.2 from 5,433 ratings, two ROCKWELL ribbed vests both showed 4.1 from 833, and two H&M cotton tees both showed 4.5 from 3,298. Those ratings exist and the products are related, but the figure under the stars is not a count of people who bought that specific colour or cut. It is still far more information than a listing with no rating at all - and 45 of the 172 listings under Rs. 500 had none.
Is it better to buy one T-shirt or a five-pack under Rs. 500?
It depends on what you are replacing, and the shelf will not decide for you. At Rs. 499 you can have a single H&M pure cotton round-neck with 79,821 ratings behind it at 4.3, or a MORDLANKA five-pack at Rs. 226, or a Moda Rapido four-pack at Rs. 212 - both from labels with no ratings at all in our read. For an everyday layer under a shirt, or for gym and sleep, the packs are sensible and the fabric weight matters less. For a tee you will wear visibly and wash weekly for two years, the single branded piece with tens of thousands of ratings is the better bet, because the failure mode of a Rs. 45 T-shirt is the collar going slack after four washes. We have not worn or washed any garment on this page.
Prices & codes last verified: 28 August 2026
Every selling price, stated MRP, discount percentage, rating and rating count on this page was read on 28 August 2026 from myntra.com's own listing data for eight category pages, with no account logged in, no coupon applied and no purchase made. The pull covers eight shelves and not the whole store, so nothing here should be read as a statement about Myntra's full catalogue or about categories we did not pull. An MRP is the figure the listing displays and we have not verified that any garment was sold at one, so every discount percentage quoted is arithmetic over Myntra's own two numbers rather than a measured saving. Where we describe a brand as having or lacking physical retail in India, that is context for reading its reference price based on where the brand is publicly sold; it is not a verification of the price, and we make no claim about how any seller sets its MRP or about its intent in doing so. Rating averages and counts are Myntra's own published figures, are not independently verified, and are in several cases pooled across a style family - three Imsa Moda listings share one count of 5,433 and two ROCKWELL listings share 833 - so a count under the stars may not describe the specific colour or cut shown. Fabric, construction and fit words are quoted from the listing titles as printed and are reported rather than inspected: we have not handled, worn, washed or measured any garment referred to here, and durability commentary is general guidance about fabric weight and price rather than a test result. Prices change frequently and can differ at checkout after a coupon or bank offer - check the live listing before you pay. Zoutons may earn a commission if you buy through links on this page; it does not change what you pay, and nothing here was reviewed or approved by Myntra or by any brand named.
