Myntra's men's shoe shelf badges an average of 70 per cent off, and the badge is the least useful number on it. We pulled 75 shoes off five listing pages on 28 August 2026 - every price, MRP and rating is Myntra's own data.
Sorted by badge, the shelf reads backwards. The shoes badging 80 per cent or more sell for a median of Rs. 999. The shoes badging 45 per cent or less sell for a median of Rs. 1,749. Here is what that gap is actually made of, brand by brand.

The deepest badges sit on the cheapest shoes
Five Myntra men's footwear listing pages on 28 August 2026 returned 75 unique shoes with a price, a struck-through MRP and a discount badge. Sixty-six of them sell at Rs. 2,000 or under. The cheapest is an ASIAN memory-foam sneaker at Rs. 644; the dearest is a Puma Skyrocket Lite 2 at Rs. 3,499. The median shoe costs Rs. 1,132 and badges 70 per cent off.
Sort those 75 by badge size and the pattern is the opposite of what a badge is supposed to mean. The 21 listings badging 80 per cent or more have a median MRP of Rs. 5,995 and a median selling price of Rs. 999. The 12 listings badging 45 per cent or less have a median MRP of Rs. 2,499 and a median selling price of Rs. 1,749. The deep-discount shoes are seven hundred rupees cheaper at checkout and carry MRPs two and a half times higher.
The badge is not measuring how much you save. It is measuring how far apart the two numbers on the label are, and one of those numbers - the MRP - is set by whoever prints the label.

💡 Read the left-hand number, not the percentage. Across these 75 shoes the badge rises as the stated MRP rises, while the price you actually pay barely moves. A 70 per cent badge on a Rs. 3,999 MRP and a 40 per cent badge on a Rs. 1,899 MRP land within a hundred rupees of each other.

Two mesh running shoes from this pull sit within three hundred rupees of each other at checkout. A Red Tape ETPU sneaker sells at Rs. 1,183 against a stated MRP of Rs. 7,399 - an 84 per cent badge. A Sparx mesh running shoe sells at Rs. 1,471 against a stated MRP of Rs. 1,549 - a 5 per cent badge. Same shelf, same category, same money, and a 4.8x gap in the number each brand has decided to strike through.
The nine lowest-badging listings share something: you can price-check them somewhere else. SG cricket shoes, Sparx, NIVIA football studs, YONEX badminton shoes, Puma, Campus, CULT - these are brands with sports-shop distribution or their own storefronts, where a printed MRP has to survive contact with another till. SG's badge is one per cent. Rs. 1,199 to Rs. 1,184.
The 80-plus tier is the other half of that sentence. glitchez at 87 per cent, Red Tape at 84, HRX at 84, Roadster at 83, HERE&NOW at 82 - Myntra house labels and marketplace-first brands. The largest MRP anywhere in the pull is Rs. 8,899, on a Red Tape textile running shoe that sells for Rs. 1,690.

Brand by brand, and what HRX is doing to the median
Twenty-nine of the 75 listings are HRX by Hrithik Roshan - Myntra's own athleisure label - and they set the tone of the whole shelf. HRX's median badge is 72 per cent and its median price is Rs. 1,104, with MRPs of Rs. 3,499 to Rs. 5,999 behind them. Because HRX is nearly two-fifths of the shelf, the shelf's median badge of 70 per cent is largely HRX's badge.
Red Tape is the other volume brand here, nine listings with a median badge of 81 per cent and MRPs from Rs. 7,099 to Rs. 8,899. Its actual prices, Rs. 1,183 to Rs. 1,739, are ordinary for the category. Puma shows five listings at a 62 per cent median and a Rs. 2,659 median price - the highest median price of any brand with more than two listings, and it does not badge above 62 per cent anywhere.
Strip out the house labels and the badge distribution collapses. Campus, YONEX, DR.ORTHO, NEEMANS, Skechers and U.S. Polo Assn. - the brands you can check elsewhere - occupy a band from 30 to 65 per cent, which is roughly what an end-of-season discount on a real MRP looks like.

- Source and date. myntra.com listing data (the window.__myx blob the site loads its own results from) for five pages - men's sports shoes pages 1, 2 and 3, men's casual shoes pages 1 and 2 - pulled on 28 August 2026 from an Indian IP with no account logged in and no coupon applied.
- What counted. 75 unique product ids, each with a selling price, a stated MRP and a discount badge. 60 carried a rating and a rating count; 15 carried neither. Prices Rs. 644 to Rs. 3,499, median Rs. 1,132. Badges 1% to 87%, median 70%. Stated MRPs Rs. 1,069 to Rs. 8,899.

Three Red Tape ETPU sneakers all show 4.2 from 4,051. Three YONEX HYULTRAI listings all show 4.2 from 1,250. Three Puma Softride Frequence listings all show 4.5 from 2,745. Treat a count as evidence about the style, not about the colour.
- What we did not do. We did not add anything to a bag, apply a coupon, log in, or reach a payment page. Myntra's own coupon banners, bank offers and cart-level discounts are not reflected in any figure here, and they can move the final price below what the listing shows.
- On the MRPs. We report every stated MRP as Myntra prints it and take no view on whether any shoe has ever sold at it. The arithmetic comparing MRPs across brands is ours and is described as arithmetic wherever it appears.
The eight shoes with the most ratings behind them
If the badge is unreliable, the rating count is the sturdiest thing on a listing - with the caveat that it belongs to the style family rather than the specific colour. Ranked by that count, the shelf leader is Campus NORTH PLUS at 26,548 ratings and 4.3 stars, selling at Rs. 1,120 on a 41 per cent badge - one of the shallowest badges in the whole pull.
Second is HRX's white perforated sneaker: 25,641 ratings, 4.1 stars, Rs. 998 on a 73 per cent badge. Between those two you have the two halves of this shelf - the low-MRP brand with a real price and the house label with a big strike-through - arriving at almost exactly the same money and almost exactly the same weight of evidence.
The cheapest well-evidenced pair is the ASIAN memory-foam sneaker at Rs. 644 with 9,159 ratings at 4.3. The best-rated is Skechers Go Run at 4.5 from 14,879, at Rs. 2,199 - over the Rs. 2,000 line but the only shoe here with both a 4.5 average and five figures of ratings.

The prices are real - you pay what the listing says. What is worth reading carefully is the number the discount is measured against. In this pull of 75 men's shoes on 28 August 2026, the 21 listings badging 80 per cent or more had a median stated MRP of Rs. 5,995 and a median selling price of Rs. 999. The 12 listings badging 45 per cent or less had a median MRP of Rs. 2,499 and a median selling price of Rs. 1,749. So the deep-badge shoes were cheaper at checkout while carrying MRPs two and a half times higher. The badge is arithmetic on the MRP, and the MRP is set by the label rather than by any till you can walk into. Below Rs. 1,000 the shelf also held an HRX mesh running shoe at Rs. 650, a VATELIO loafer at Rs. 706, ZENG mesh running shoes at Rs. 708 and Rs. 726, HERE&NOW driving shoes and loafers at Rs. 718, an HRX textile runner at Rs. 799 and NIVIA Airstrike football studs at Rs. 801. Twenty-six of the 75 listings sat under Rs. 1,000 with a median badge of 74 per cent. Sizes sell out at these prices faster than the listing changes, so check the size grid before you plan around any of them.
Why do Sparx and Campus shoes show such small discounts on Myntra?
Because their MRPs are small to begin with. Sparx's mesh running shoe was struck from Rs. 1,549 to Rs. 1,471 - a 5 per cent badge - and SG's cricket shoe from Rs. 1,199 to Rs. 1,184, a 1 per cent badge. Campus sat at 41 to 44 per cent on MRPs of Rs. 1,899 and Rs. 2,199. These are brands with sports-shop and multi-site distribution, where the printed MRP has to hold up at more than one counter. Marketplace-first labels and house brands set an MRP that only appears in one place, so a large badge costs them nothing. None of that makes the cheaper-badged shoe worse - Campus NORTH PLUS at a 41 per cent badge carried the most ratings of any shoe in the pull, 26,548 at 4.3 stars.
Is HRX good value on Myntra?
On price, yes; on the badge, read it as decoration. HRX is Myntra's own athleisure label and was 29 of the 75 listings in this read, with a median badge of 72 per cent, a median price of Rs. 1,104 and MRPs of Rs. 3,499 to Rs. 5,999 behind it. Its white perforated sneaker at Rs. 998 carried 25,641 ratings at 4.1, the second-largest count on the shelf, so the volume evidence is genuinely there at around a thousand rupees. What the 72 per cent does not tell you is that you are saving Rs. 2,900 on anything - the Rs. 3,999 or Rs. 4,999 struck price exists only on Myntra's own listing. Judge it against other thousand-rupee shoes, where it holds up well on ratings.
Does the rating count under a Myntra shoe belong to that exact shoe?
Not always, and this matters when you are choosing between colourways. Myntra pools ratings across a style family and prints the family total under each colour. In this pull, four separate HRX Unisex Mesh Running listings all showed 4.3 from exactly 4,032 ratings; three Red Tape ETPU sneakers all showed 4.2 from 4,051; three YONEX HYULTRAI listings all showed 4.2 from 1,250; and three Puma Softride Frequence listings all showed 4.5 from 2,745. Identical counts on different colours are the tell. Treat the number as evidence about the model - its fit, sole and durability - rather than about the particular colour you are looking at, and read a few recent reviews for anything colour-specific.
