Myntra Men's Jeans and Trousers From Rs. 349: Median 69% Off, September 2026

We read 64 men's jeans and trousers from Myntra's own listing pages on 3 September 2026 — two pages each of /men-jeans and /men-trousers. Prices run Rs. 349 to Rs. 1,461 at a median of Rs. 703.

Sixty-one of the 64 are under Rs. 1,000. The three that are not are a Roadster baggy fit denim at Rs. 1,029, a me Queen mid-rise ombre jean at Rs. 1,103 and a Snitch baggy relaxed fit at Rs. 1,461. That is the whole top end of two full listing pages.

Split by garment, trousers are the cheaper half: a median Rs. 602 against Rs. 842 for jeans, and a deeper median badge (73% against 64%). Denim costs more to make than a cotton cargo or a linen drawstring trouser, and the shelf reflects that even at these prices.

Group the 64 listings by brand and the discount percentage stops looking like a property of any individual product. All six FABRIPPLE listings carry a stated MRP of Rs. 1,999 — not one of them differs — and their badges run 70% to 73%. All three MQ Denim listings state Rs. 1,599 and badge 42–44%. Both CHROVEL listings are Rs. 387 against Rs. 1,499 at 74%. Both PLUS 91 listings are Rs. 799 against Rs. 2,499 at 68%.

Roadster is the widest spread here at 59–81%, and even that comes from just three stated MRPs (Rs. 2,499, Rs. 2,599, Rs. 2,799) applied across ten garments. Four of those ten are priced at exactly Rs. 638 against exactly Rs. 2,799.

So when one listing says 73% off and the one beside it says 44%, that gap is telling you which brand chose which reference price — not that the first garment is better value. The rupee price is the number that actually varies, and on this shelf it varies within a narrow band: Rs. 349 to Rs. 1,461, with a median of Rs. 703.

The clearest way to see it is to look for exact repeats. Five separate FABRIPPLE listings — classic mid-rise cargos, loose fit cargos, cotton loose fit cargo trousers and two more — are all priced at Rs. 539 against Rs. 1,999, 73% off. Four Roadster listings are all Rs. 638 against Rs. 2,799.

None of that is wrongdoing and we allege none. It is how a brand prices a range: one reference price, one selling price, several colourways and cuts. But it does mean that comparing two listings by their badges is comparing two brand-level decisions, and that a shopper who filters by “70% off and above” is filtering by brand more than by value.

It also means the stated MRP carries little information about the garment. Our Myntra kurtas page found the same shape on a different aisle, and the formal shoes page is the footwear equivalent.

The bottom of this shelf is track pants and drawstring trousers: HRX's track pants at Rs. 349 (4.2 from 708 ratings), a CHROVEL two-pack at Rs. 387, Povaxpo's regular fit at Rs. 401. A two-pack at Rs. 387 works out at under Rs. 200 a pair, which is worth noticing before reading the 74% badge as the interesting number.

From roughly Rs. 480 to Rs. 700 the shelf becomes cotton cargos, linen relaxed-fit trousers and pleated Korean pants — FTX at Rs. 482 with 20,841 ratings, HRX pleated trousers at Rs. 490, FABRIPPLE cargos at Rs. 539, HIGHLANDER tapered cargos at Rs. 545 with 66,301 ratings, Roadster linen at Rs. 540–638.

Jeans proper start at Rs. 616 and the median jean is Rs. 842. Fabric composition is stated in most of these titles — pure cotton, linen blend, cotton stretch — and is the specification worth reading, because at these prices it is what separates two otherwise identical-looking listings. We did not handle any of these garments; nothing here is a judgement of fabric quality, fit or how they wash.

A garment-level maximum retail price would be scattered. These are not. Fourteen listings state Rs. 1,999, twelve state Rs. 2,499, seven state Rs. 2,799 and five state Rs. 2,999 — 38 of 64 listings on four round numbers.

We cannot verify whether any of these stated maximum retail prices was ever a live selling price on Myntra or anywhere else, and we make no claim either way. What we can say is what the data shows: the reference price is set per brand and per range, and the badge is arithmetic on top of it.

The practical consequence is simple. On this shelf, sort by price rather than by discount. A Rs. 349 track pant at 65% off is cheaper than a Rs. 539 cargo at 73%, and the percentages are the reason that sentence sounds odd.

Sort by price, not by discount. The badge on this shelf is a brand-level setting: FABRIPPLE badges 70–73% because every FABRIPPLE listing states Rs. 1,999, MQ Denim badges 42–44% because every MQ Denim listing states Rs. 1,599. Neither fact tells you which trouser is better.

Read the fabric line in the title. Pure cotton, linen blend and cotton stretch are stated in most of these listings and are the only specification that meaningfully separates a Rs. 539 cargo from a Rs. 638 one. Cut — tapered, relaxed, baggy, wide leg — is stated too.

Treat a huge rating count with suspicion of grouping. Where ten listings share five scores, the number is describing a range. The listings we would read as genuinely per-item here are the ones on brands with a single listing, and the ones whose counts differ from their stablemates — FABRIPPLE's Rs. 596 pleated trouser at 4.4 from 97, for instance, rather than the Rs. 539 group at 55,557.
