Myntra Formal Shoes Sale September 2026: Bata From Rs. 449, 79 Listings

We pulled myntra.com/men-formal-shoes (first two pages), /men-loafers and /men-derbys on 2 September 2026 — no filters, no sort, no account signed in. That returned 92 rows and 79 distinct listings once repeats of the same shoe at the same price were removed.

The shelf is cheap and it is dense at the bottom: 55 listings under Rs. 1,000, 27 under Rs. 700, and the whole range fits between Rs. 449 and Rs. 1,803. The median listing is Rs. 849 at 70 per cent off.

The cheapest shoe on the shelf is a Bata square-toe slip-on at Rs. 449, and Bata's discount on it is 50 per cent — roughly the smallest headline number in the top half of this page. That is the whole story of this shelf in one listing.

Sort the shelf by brand and one line stands out. Across 12 Bata listings the discount takes exactly four values — 15, 42, 45 and 50 per cent — and 50 is a hard ceiling. Not one Bata shoe on this page goes past it.

HERE&NOW, Myntra's own label and the biggest brand on the shelf with 14 listings, has a median discount of 76 per cent and a maximum of 80. Nine brands here beat Bata's ceiling; three go past 80 per cent.

And yet Bata's median price is Rs. 593 against HERE&NOW's Rs. 674. The brand with half the headline discount is the cheaper shoe. The difference is entirely in the reference price: Bata's MRPs sit between Rs. 899 and Rs. 2,299, HERE&NOW's between Rs. 1,615 and Rs. 4,799 for footwear that lands within Rs. 100 of each other.

Twenty-seven of the 79 listings sell below Rs. 700. Bata takes seven of those slots and HERE&NOW takes nine, which is the same two-brand split as the shelf overall — but at wildly different printed discounts for near-identical money.

Three Bata derbys sit at Rs. 549 against an MRP of Rs. 1,099. Three HERE&NOW derbys sit at Rs. 558 against an MRP of Rs. 2,199. Nine rupees apart on the shelf; 25 percentage points apart on the badge.

The one number worth weighting here is the rating count, and it is the column where the two brands actually diverge. Our Myntra sports shoe page found the same pattern on the athletic shelf, where 84 per cent off meant Rs. 1,183.

Rating counts are the one field on a Myntra listing that a merchant cannot set at will, so they are worth reading separately from the price.

Of the 79 listings, 27 carry no rating at all and 13 carry a thousand or more. The top of that list is split: a HERE&NOW penny loafer at 80 per cent off with 5,802 ratings, then a Bata textured derby at 50 per cent off with 5,024. Both are under Rs. 700.

Bata takes six of the twelve most-rated slots on this shelf without ever printing a discount above 50 per cent, which is the cleanest argument on the page that the badge and the buyer are measuring different things.

If you want a black formal derby for office wear and you are shopping on price, the bottom of this shelf is genuinely cheap and the arithmetic is simple: ignore the percentage entirely and sort by rupees.

Between Rs. 449 and Rs. 700 you have 27 listings, and the split that matters is reviewed versus unreviewed — four of those 27 have over a thousand ratings and eleven have fewer than 150 or none at all. At Rs. 549 the choice between a Bata derby with 5,024 ratings and a HERE&NOW derby with 57 is not really about the shoe.

Above Rs. 1,300 the shelf thins out fast: nine listings, four of them House of Pataudi at Rs. 1,803 with no ratings at all.
