The Engine configuration for all the three trims is the same 1.5 Liter Renault K9K turbocharged diesel engine churning out over 64 bhp @ 4000 rpm. The price range starts from Rs. 6.58 Lakhs for the base model and goes up to Rs. 7.51 Lakhs for the top-end D6 model. Verito comes in seven catchy color options including Aqua Rush, Toreador red, Dolphin Grey, Diamond White, Java Brown, Fiery Black, and Mist Silver. This means there is a whole lot of options to choose from. You also get to choose from various interior upholstery options for personalization.

We Recommend

As the Verito is only available in diesel trims, it actually cuts down the option to choose from petrol or diesel version. Under this, we have three trim levels, the D2, D4, and D6. All of them are equipped with the same engine which further cuts down the major upgrade areas. We would recommend the well-equipped trim, the dCi D4 model.

Keeping in mind the price point, you get almost all the major amenities available in the top-end D6 trim. You can also upgrade interior upholstery and alloy wheels according to your choice. This trim comes with all the safety features available, including Anti-lock Braking system, airbag for the driver, and additional supports. The D4 is pure value for money with all the major amenities loaded.

2020 Mahindra Verito Vibe Engine and Performance

Talking of engine performance, we can badge it as the best-in-class. The Verito Vibe is powered by a 1.5 Liter K9K turbocharged engine by Renault. This particular engine is super-efficient with a good power output of over 64 bhp at 4000 rpm. Torque characteristics of the car are the best-in-segment standing at 190Nm at around 2000 rpm. More power at low engine speeds ensures enthralling pick-up and minimal gearshifts leading to a comfortable ride. The engine is accompanied by a high performance 5-speed manual transmission which enables fast and smooth shifts at all engine speeds.

The car comes with a front-wheel-drive system and follows BS-IV emission norms. The top speed of the car can go up to 145 km/hr which is mind-boggling at this price point. Verito Vibe CS can sprint a 0-100 km/hr in about 17 seconds which is a little sluggish but has good low-speed control. Superior torque capabilities of the car enable for agile performance during cornering. Verito Vibe is perfect for city road conditions where traffic conditions are extreme and you need a good economy.

As we can clearly interpret from the above data sheet, maximum power is generated by Tata Zest standing at 89bhp @ 6000 rpm. But the low torque at a very low rpm only helps in initial propelling of the vehicle but it starts to lag at high engine speeds. The maximum torque of 190 Nm @ 2000 rpm is generated by Mahindra Verito Vibe CS which ensures good vehicle pick-up at all speeds. Maximum torque at low engine rpm ensures an instant acceleration boost. With a good balance of power and torque, Mahindra Verito manages to deliver optimum power when needed.

 Acceleration

Enthralling acceleration capabilities are witnessed in the new 2020 Mahindra Verito Vibe. Time is the main concern with a slow speed boost of about 17 seconds for a 0-100 km/hr. This is due to the low power high torque engine. Swift and accurate gearshift allow minimal gearshifts to achieve high torque. The car is designed for agility and this is proved during cornering performance.

Notably, Maruti Suzuki Swift sprints 100 kmph in 13 seconds, making it fastest of the lot. while Mahindra Verito Vibe is the slowest at 17 seconds. This can be because of low power high torque engine capability. Verito Vibe proves to be the highest load carrier among the lot due to high torque capabilities.

Ride and Handling

Mahindra Verito Vibe manages to offer great handling and ride comfort. The tilt-and-telescopic type power steering system helps in better control of the car at high speeds. Good Ride comfort is ensured by a comfy seating arrangement and good steering response. Cornering performance of the car is best-in-class.

The rear H-section Torsion beam with programmed deflection coil-spring suspension system ensures minimal roll for better control during steep corners. Apart from the mechanical advancements, the steering wheel has a good grip with leather wrapping. Mahindra Verito Vibe offers great maneuvering capabilities during long ride stints ultimately improving ride quality. The spacious cabin is an add-on for better ride quality with ample supports and extensions. Overall, you can expect a best-in-segment handling capability.

Braking

With high performance ventilated disc brakes in the front accompanied by drum brakes in the rear, the car gets ample braking power to stop the vehicle effectively even at high speeds. The braking system also gets an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) which enhances safety and offers great control of the car during slippery road or wheel spin conditions. The braking distance is pretty impressive when compared with its rivals. With the light redesigned chassis, the braking performance of the car is improved to a whole new level.

The power steering option plays a major role in providing easy steering and handling of the car. It is very important to know the fit of the car.
