MAH CET 2020 is a prominent state management entrance test for admission to 300+ colleges in the state of Maharashtra. The exam was conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell on March 14 and 15, 2020 across 47 test cities. Due to the outbreak of Covid 19, the result date has been postponed. Registration for MAH CET 2020 session was started on January 10, 2020 and the last date to apply was February 2. The exam is conducted annually in a computer based format. MAH CET 2020 application form was released by the State Common Entrance Test Cell of Mumbai. 

200 Questions are put up for candidates to be attempted in 150 minutes. MAH CET 2020 Admit Cards was released on March 1, 2020. Admission process includes an aptitude test followed by a Centralized Admission Process. Candidates outside Maharashtra state are required to have valid CAT/MAT/CMAT/XAT scores to apply for MBA colleges in MAH CET 2020 Counselling.

MAH CET 2020 General Eligibility Criteria

DTE determines eligibility criteria for candidates who wish to apply for MAH MBA 2020 exam. It can be broadly classified into two types: the general eligibility criteria and norms to qualify as a candidate from Maharashtra. 

  • Applicants must be a citizen of India. 
  • Candidates passing their graduation with minimum 50% marks in any discipline
  • Candidates appearing in the final year of their qualifying examination can also apply, provided they fulfill the minimum marks requirement before the commencement of admission procedure.
  • Certain B Schools in Maharashtra will grant admission on the basis of CAT 2020 and CMAT 2020 also apart from MAH CET 2020.

MAH CET 2020 Maharashtra State Candidate Eligibility Criteria

5 eligible categories come under Maharashtra State candidature. Qualifying for any one of the categories will make the candidate eligible for Maharashtra State reservation.

Type 1 Maharashtra State Candidate

  • Candidates who have passed their Higher Secondary from Maharashtra.
  • Candidates who have passed their Qualifying Exam-Diploma/Engineering/Pharmacy from colleges in Maharashtra.
  • If the candidates are born or have domicile of the state.

Type 2 Maharashtra State Candidate

  • Candidates whose Parents be it Father or Mother have domicile of the state of Maharashtra will be eligible as an MS Candidate.

Type 3 Maharashtra State Candidate

  • Candidates whose Parents be it Father or Mother are employees of Government of India or Government of India undertaking and are posted in Maharashtra. The conviction stays that the parents are on reported duty while feeling the MAH CET 2020 Application Form. 

Type 4 Maharashtra State Candidate

  • Candidates whose parents (Father or Mother) are Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra undertaking employee can apply under this category. 
  • It is also applicable to wards of retired employees of the state government.
  • In case parents are on deputation or posted in another state, the condition still prevails.

Type 5 Maharashtra State CandidateJanuary

  • Candidates passing their Higher Secondary or Qualifying Examination from a recognised college located in the disputed front of Maharashtra-Karnataka border given their mother tongue is Marathi are eligible to apply as candidates from Maharashtra.

MAH CET 2020 Registration

Notification for MAH CET was released on January 14, 2020. Application process was completely online and available for a window of 40-45 days from January to the last week of February. 

Steps to fill MAH CET 2020 Application Form?

Prior to commence the application process, candidates should make sure they have a valid email id and active contact number. In case candidates do not have the aforementioned they should create new credentials. 

In addition to this qualification documents should be kept handy along with mode of payment to be opted by the candidate.

Step 1: Registration

  • Go to the official website of MAH CET 2020 that is www.cetcell.mahacet.org
  • Select and click the link for getting access of the MAH CET 2020 Application form
  • Now you have to click ‘Apply Online’ option
  • Do not forget to go through properly the provided instructions before you are going to apply and submit your MAH CET 2020 application. 
  • Once you provide the detailed information, your application number will start to generate. 

Step 2: Upload your scanned documents 

  • The aspirants should upload the scanned signature and photograph 
  • Do not upload your photograph, which is more than 50 KB. Instead, they need to provide a picture of 200*230 pixels and which is in either JPG or JPEG format. 
  • The candidates should upload a scanned copy of their signatures. The ideal size of scanned signature copy should be 140*60 pixels. Better, you need to avoid more than 20 KB file for uploading scanned signature copy. The format should be into either JPG or JPEG. 
  • Unless you upload your proper image, you cannot submit your MAH CET 2020 application. 

Step 3: Form filling

In the next step, the candidates require to fill the form as per the given instruction. In this regard, you need to submit the detailed information like personal, academic and the contact details of the candidates. 

Step 4: Payment of Fees

  • Once you upload the documents, you should be directed to the payment gateway.
  • You can pay the fees through the credit/debit card/net banking/mobile wallets etc. A percentage of service charge will be applied on the fee structure. 
  • If you complete your payment process, the candidates will get a confirmation email containing a receipt. 
  • You are advised to log in further if you get failure to complete the payment process. You should provide your login credential for repeating the process. 
  • The aspirants can take a print out of the e-receipt and keep it with them and can also take the print out of MAH CET 2020 application form.

MAH CET 2020 Application Form Status

In order to complete the registration process, the candidates are required to choose and click the ‘Register and Confirm’ ption. The final MAH CET 2020 Application will be sent to the aspirants through courier or post. In this stage, you do not need to submit any documents. Now, the applicants should check their MAH CET 2020 application status if they pay the application fee. It is noted that the aspirants need to submit the required documents during the time of registration for CET. The candidate registration to right allotment of candidates are determined by the State CET cell. This is the unique provision of registration, which is referred to as ‘one time’ measurement. 

If the candidates require to make any change in the MAH CET 2020 Application form, then they need to login their account from the official website and then need to provide the application number and password. Now, the aspirants need to click the edit profile option for bringing changes in the form and then require to click the submit option.

MAH CET 2020 Photograph and Signature Specifications

Scanned Photograph and Signature in the below mentioned specifications are to be uploaded by the candidate. In case the requirements are not in the correct size and format, candidates can make use of the online available tools to resize their Photo and Signature.

MAH CET 2020 Application Fee

Payment of fees to register for MAH CET 2020 can be done via Debit card (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS and Mobile Wallets. After successful payment of the application fees an e-receipt will be generated which indicates fee payment confirmation.

Candidates should make sure they do not press back or refresh the button while fee payment is under process, this can cause fee deduction twice.

MAH CET 2020 Admit Card

DTE issued admit cards for MAH CET on its official website on March 1, 2020. Candidates who successfully registered and paid the application fee can download the same by entering their registration number and password.

Date of birth can also be used in place of password in DD/MM/YY format. Downloading the admit card well in advance is beneficial to avoid last minute hassle. Candidates should make a hard copy of the admit card and carry it to the test center with a photograph and valid Id proof. 

Candidates have to affix a photograph on the hall ticket (preferably the one used in the application form). Entry in the exam hall will not be granted without verifying the candidates photograph. 

Things to keep in mind about MAH CET 2020 Admit Card

  • Remember to check details mentioned in the admit card like photograph and signature, name, DoB, Communication address, date and time of the exam, venue and allotted test center and Application id.
  • Candidates will be intimidated on the release of MAH CET 2020 Admit Card via email/SMS by the conducting body. 
  • The official website is expected to experience a rush on the release of admit cards, candidates are advised to download the same well before time.
  • In case candidates are unable to login on the portal, they can refer to the application number and password sent to them via sms at the time of registration.

MAH CET 2020 Exam Day Guidelines

As the entrance test is conducted in online mode candidates have to go through a certain biometric and identification process. Exam day instructions are mentioned on the admit card, candidates should go through them before appearing for the test.

  • It is advised to reach the allotted test center 2 hours before the commencement of exam. 
  • Read the instructions mentioned on the screen thoroughly and strictly abide by the rules.
  • Avoid carrying items that are prohibited at the exam center like Mobile Phones, calculator electronic items.
  • Stationary-pen/pencil and rough sheet will be provided at the exam center, hence candidates should not carry them to the center.
  • Food items are not permitted inside the exam center.
  • Leaving the center without the permission of the invigilator is not allowed and can lead to cancellation of paper.

MAH CET 2020 Result 

DTE releases MAH MBA CET results along with the merit list. In 2019, 102851 candidates were included in the result list. No candidate scored perfect 100 percentile and many candidates had zero score count. 15 candidates were awarded 99.99 percentile with scores ranging from 153-164 out of 200. 

For the past few Years. No candidate has scored a perfect 100 percentile in MAH CET. A range of scores correspond to candidates who acquire 99 percentile. The range varies depending on normalised scores, sectional scores and percentile calculation method. Candidates clearing MAH CET 2020 Cut Off will be called for further round of counselling. 

How to Download MAH CET 2020 Scorecard?

  • First go to the MAH CET official website
  • Once you enter, you should select and click MAH CET result
  • Now, you have to provide the application number of the aspirant, their password and security code.
  • In the next step, you should choose and click ‘view MAH CET 2020 scorecard’.
  • The aspirants will get the score card in a PDF format
  • Now, do a print out of the PDF copy and save it with yourself for future reference. 

MAH CET 2020 Cut Off

MAH CET 2020 cut off marks vary from college to college and the seat allocation is dependent upon the cut off marks. There are several factors, which are considered for determining the cut off marks and these factors are such as the difficulty level of the question paper, total number of aspirants appearing in the entrance and the number of available seats.

MAH CET Counselling Process

From June 2020 onwards, the registration for the counselling procedure of MAH CET 2020 is going to be scheduled (most likely), more specifically, after the result is out. There will be three rounds of confirmation exams and allotment of seats, which will be conducted by the Centralized Admission Process (CAP). 

Online Web Counselling is the only one counselling process of MAH CET 2020.

Step 1: Online Registration

  • First the candidates (who have appeared in the MAH CET 2020 exam) should fill the online application form for the purpose of CAP counselling registration.
  • Now go to the official website of MAH CET.
  • Select the link ‘Counselling Procedure of MAH CET 2020 registration’ and click it.
  • Provide and submit the name, application number, roll number, date of birth and password.
  • Pay the counselling fee through online mode. 

Step 2: Free Submission

During the submission time, the counselling fee is needed to pay, which is non-refundable.

Step 3: Document Verification

  • Once you complete the registration process, you have to verify the documents at the Application Form Receipt Center.
  • Go to the official website of MAH CET in order to get to know about your ARC center.
  • Do not forget to carry the set of photocopy of the provided documents at the counselling venue.
  • You should carry the essential documents like MAH CET 2020 Admit Card, MAH CET 2020 Rank Card, certificate of 10th and 12th, residential proof of the candidates, migration certificate and category certificate. 

Step 4: Choice Filling

  • Once the verification of documentation process is done, you need to login your account and choose your preferable college and ranch.
  • If your preferable choice is getting locked, then you cannot change it.

Step 5: Seat Allotment

  • Seat allocation and admission process in the colleges is dependent on the number of vacancies, rank of the students and also their choices.
  • In order to check the seat allocation system, the aspirants should log in their accounts.
  • For selection process, a provisional admission letter will issue for the candidates 

Step 6: Reporting to Allotted Institute

  • Once the candidates successfully allocate their seats, they need to report to the respective college.
  • Do not forget to bring the seat allotment letter along with the other required documents.
  • If the aspirants fail to report to the college, then the allotted seat will be cancelled.

Step 7: Confirmation Letter

  • At the end of counselling process, the students will get a confirmation letter from the end of the colleges. 


Ques. Is it mandatory to appear for the MAH CET 2020 exam (even for those, who live in Maharashtra) for CAT?

Ans. Yes, the aspirants from Maharashtra also require to register their names and appear in MAH CET 2020 exam.

Ques. Is the MAH CET 2020 exam eligible for Bangladeshi Students?

Ans. The aspirants of Bangladesh will need to come under the category like OCI/PIO/Foreign Students. Out of 140 students, 6 seats are reserved for MAH CET 2020.

Ques. Is it necessary to appear for MAH CET 2020 if they have taken CAT? 

Ans. If the candidates participate in CAP based exams like CAT/XAT/CMAT, they also need to register for MAH CET 2020 and require to take a print out of the application form. 

Ques. Is it required to sit MAH CET 2020 for getting into Sri Balaji?

Ans. If your preferred college is Sri Balaji, then you need to appear at least one of those exams, such as MH-CET/CAT/XAT/CMAT.

Ques. Can the final year graduate students sit in the MAH CET 2020 exam?

Ans. Yes, the aspirants are eligible to apply for MAH CET 2020. However, do not forget to fetch the documents and marksheets in the counselling process. 

Ques. Is it necessary to fill the PUMBA and JBIMS apart from MAH CET form?

Ans. The aspirants do not require to fill separate admission forms if you have submitted the MAH CET 2020 form.
