📅 Update log:
21 October 2026 — First publication. Read the same day: myntra.com's /jhumkas and /earrings listing pages via a window.__myx parse (60 listings) and ajio.com's own search results for "jhumka" and "earrings" (159 listings), both logged out, from India, with nothing purchased and neither retailer contacted. Recorded from this read: Myntra prices from Rs. 180 to Rs. 712 with a median of Rs. 292, 33 of 60 under Rs. 300, a median badge of 73% across a 0% to 89% range, 27 distinct stated MRPs at a median Rs. 999, a median stated MRP of 3.74x the selling price, and 34 of 60 listings publishing a star average and review count; AJIO prices from Rs. 50 to Rs. 3,199 with a median of Rs. 330, 68 of 159 under Rs. 300, a median badge of 82% across a 10% to 90% range, 116 distinct stated MRPs at a median Rs. 1,999, a median stated MRP of 5.55x the selling price, and none of the 159 publishing any rating. Also recorded: 33 AJIO listings badged at exactly 90%, on which the stated MRP divided by the selling price runs 9.982 to 10.014 with a median of 10.000 - 17 of them Oomph and 10 Fabula; the 89%-badged group printing multiples of 9.08 to 9.09; seven brands appearing on both shelves, with median prices of Rs. 699 against Rs. 348 on Oomph, Rs. 657 against Rs. 300 on Zeneme, Rs. 712 against Rs. 389 on Saraf RS Jewellery, Rs. 271 against Rs. 116 on Salty, Rs. 580 against Rs. 538 on Rubans, Rs. 546 against Rs. 454 on Fida and Rs. 251 against Rs. 349 on Vivastri; two TACORRY listings on Myntra at Rs. 499 against a stated Rs. 499, the only 0% badges in the read; and two Rubans listings sharing a rating count of 2,184 and a stated Rs. 2,543 at Rs. 499 and Rs. 661. Shelf contamination flagged: both searches return studs, hoops, ear cuffs and drop earrings alongside jhumkas. Materials and platings are the listings' own printed descriptions and are not verified. Nothing was handled or worn.

Thirty-three AJIO listings are badged 90%. On all of them the MRP is the price times ten

We read both retailers' own jhumka and earring listings on 21 October 2026 — 60 from Myntra and 159 from AJIO, logged out, from India, nothing purchased.

Thirty-three of AJIO's 159 listings carry a badge of exactly 90%. Divide each one's stated MRP by its selling price and the answer is the same every time: the multiples run from 9.982 to 10.014, with a median of exactly 10.000.

Rs. 150 against Rs. 1,499. Rs. 209 against Rs. 2,089. Rs. 235 against Rs. 2,350. The 89%-badged listings behave the same way at 9.09 times — which is one divided by 0.11.

A stated MRP is the figure a listing prints, and nothing here says any of these figures is false or improper. What it means practically is that on those 33 listings the percentage tells you nothing the rupee price does not.

These are seven of the thirty-three; the last row is the whole group. Seventeen of the 33 are Oomph listings and ten are Fabula.

The same pattern sits one badge-step down. Every listing badged 89% in this read prints a stated MRP 9.08 to 9.09 times its price — the exact reciprocal of an 11% remainder.

Nine points of badge separate these two shelves. Thirty-eight rupees separate their medians. The badge gap is explained by the strike-throughs: AJIO's median stated MRP is Rs. 1,999 against Myntra's Rs. 999, and its median multiple over the selling price is 5.55x against 3.74x.

AJIO's shelf is far wider. Its cheapest listing is Rs. 50 and its dearest Rs. 3,199; Myntra's entire read fits between Rs. 180 and Rs. 712.

One honest caveat on both. Each search returns studs, hoops, ear cuffs and drop earrings alongside jhumkas proper. We have counted what each page returned and flagged it rather than presenting it as a pure jhumka comparison.

Seven brands sit on both shelves

Fida1Rs. 5463Rs. 45461% / 63%
Vivastri1Rs. 2513Rs. 34980% / 63%

AJIO is cheaper on five of the seven. Oomph is the widest gap and the best-represented brand on either shelf — 28 AJIO listings at a median Rs. 348 against Myntra's single listing at Rs. 699.

Vivastri runs the other way, Rs. 251 on Myntra against Rs. 349 on AJIO, which is worth stating because it cuts against the pattern.

These are medians across different products, not matched models. We have not handled any of these earrings and make no claim that a brand's listings on one site are the same items as its listings on the other.

Myntra's two ends: the only 0% badges in the read, and the deepest review pools

Two TACORRY listings print a stated MRP exactly equal to their price, so both badge 0% — the only zeroes anywhere in the 219 listings. AJIO's shallowest badge is 10%.

The two Rubans listings share a rating count of 2,184 and a stated MRP of Rs. 2,543 at two different prices, Rs. 499 and Rs. 661, badged 80% and 74%. An identical rating count across two listings is the ordinary signature of one product listed twice, which is routine and not something we criticise — but it is a Rs. 162 gap.

Myntra's rating pools are the one number on either shelf that no strike-through can move, and they only exist on one of the two sites.

What this page does not tell you

Nothing here was bought, unpacked, worn or tested. "18K Gold-Plated", "Kundan", "Zirconia", "Oxidised", "Silver-Plated" and "Artificial Stones" are the listings' own printed descriptions, reproduced here and not independently verified. We make no claim about any item's plating thickness, metal content, stone type, finish or how long any of it lasts, and we are not suggesting any description is inaccurate.

On a jewellery shelf that gap is wider than usual. A listing page can establish what a seller charges and what it prints; it cannot establish what a plating is. Where a listing states a metal, a weight or a stone, that is the line worth reading — and on AJIO it is also the only information available, because none of its 159 listings publishes a review.

Nor does this page tell you today's price. Every figure was returned on 21 October 2026, with Diwali falling in November and both shelves moving quickly. Check the live listing before buying.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Myntra or AJIO cheaper for jhumkas in October 2026?
They are much closer than their discount badges suggest. Across the 219 listings we read on 21 October 2026, Myntra's median was Rs. 292 and AJIO's Rs. 330 — thirty-eight rupees apart. But AJIO's median badge is 82% against Myntra's 73%, which would suggest a far bigger gap than exists. Brand by brand AJIO does come out cheaper on five of the seven labels present on both shelves — Oomph at a median Rs. 348 against Rs. 699, Zeneme at Rs. 300 against Rs. 657, Salty at Rs. 116 against Rs. 271. AJIO also reaches much further up: its dearest listing is Rs. 3,199 against Myntra's Rs. 712. These are brand medians across whatever each site listed, not like-for-like model comparisons.
Why are so many AJIO earrings exactly 90% off?
Because on every one of them the stated MRP is exactly ten times the selling price. Thirty-three of AJIO's 159 listings in this read are badged at exactly 90%, and across all 33 the stated MRP divided by the price runs from 9.982 to 10.014, with a median of 10.000. Rs. 150 against Rs. 1,499. Rs. 209 against Rs. 2,089. Rs. 235 against Rs. 2,350. The same holds in the 89% group, where the multiple is 9.09 — which is 1 divided by 0.11. In other words the strike-through on that part of the shelf moves with the badge, arithmetically. A stated MRP is the maximum retail price a brand is entitled to set, and nothing here says any of these figures is false, inflated, back-calculated or improper — no wrongdoing by AJIO, by Reliance Retail, by any seller or by any brand named is alleged. What it means for a shopper is simple: on those 33 listings the percentage carries no information the price does not already give you.
Does AJIO's bigger discount mean a better deal?
No — the badge gap is nine points and the price gap is thirty-eight rupees. AJIO's median badge is 82% against Myntra's 73%, but that is a difference in strike-throughs, not in prices. AJIO's median stated MRP is Rs. 1,999 against Myntra's Rs. 999, and its median stated MRP runs 5.55 times its selling price against Myntra's 3.74 times. A bigger number above the price produces a bigger percentage beside it, whatever the price does. The useful comparison is the rupee figure and the brand: on this read AJIO is genuinely cheaper on Oomph, Zeneme, Salty, Saraf RS and Rubans, and dearer on Vivastri.
Why do none of the AJIO earrings show ratings?
Because AJIO does not publish them in these results. Not one of the 159 AJIO listings returned a star average or a review count; Myntra published both on 34 of its 60, including pools of 2,184 on two Rubans listings and 1,960 on a Fida. This is AJIO's own behaviour, not a gap in our reading — its search data carries no rating fields at all, which we have recorded on every AJIO shelf we have read. It is not a criticism and we are not suggesting anything is concealed; retailers legitimately differ in what they surface. It does mean that on AJIO you are choosing a pair of earrings on a photograph, a price and a brand name alone — and on a shelf where 33 listings share one mechanically-derived strike-through, the photograph is doing most of the work.
What does a 0% badge on a Myntra earring mean?
That the stated maximum retail price is exactly what the listing charges. Two TACORRY hoop listings on Myntra sell at Rs. 499 against a stated Rs. 499, so there is nothing to discount from and the badge reads 0%. A JUST JUNKIES listing shows 4%, at Rs. 574 against Rs. 599. These are the only near-zero badges in the whole 219-listing read; AJIO's shallowest is 10%. That is the more candid display, not the worse deal — Rs. 499 is Rs. 499 either way, and it is above Myntra's Rs. 292 median. A brand is entitled to set its maximum retail price wherever it likes and we allege no wrongdoing against anyone pricing either way. Nothing on this page was handled: "18K Gold-Plated", "Kundan", "Zirconia" and "Oxidised" are the listings' own printed words, reproduced and not verified.

Zoutons earns affiliate commission on some links on this page. It costs you nothing and it does not decide what we write. Every price, stated MRP, discount badge, star average and rating count above was returned by myntra.com's and ajio.com's own pages on 21 October 2026, logged out, from India, with nothing purchased; every count, median, multiple and range was computed mechanically over those 219 rows. A stated MRP is the figure a listing prints. Reporting that a group of listings sharing one discount badge also share a constant ratio between their stated MRP and their selling price, that one retailer's listings print stated MRPs at a higher multiple of price than another's, that a brand's median price differs between two sites, or that a listing displays no discount at all, is arithmetic over published figures and a description of what those figures are. IT IS NOT A STATEMENT THAT ANY MRP IS FALSE, INFLATED, FABRICATED, MISDECLARED, BACK-CALCULATED OR NON-COMPLIANT, THAT ANY DISCOUNT IS NOT GENUINE, THAT ANY RATING IS NOT AUTHENTIC, THAT ANY PRODUCT IS OVERPRICED OR MISDESCRIBED, OR THAT MYNTRA DESIGNS PRIVATE LIMITED, RELIANCE RETAIL LIMITED, AJIO, ANY SELLER ON EITHER PLATFORM OR ANY BRAND NAMED HAS ENGAGED IN MISLEADING ADVERTISING, AN UNFAIR TRADE PRACTICE, AN UNFAIR CONTRACT TERM, A DARK PATTERN, DRIP PRICING OR ANY OTHER CONTRAVENTION OF THE LEGAL METROLOGY ACT, 2009, THE LEGAL METROLOGY (PACKAGED COMMODITIES) RULES, 2011, THE CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT, 2019, THE CONSUMER PROTECTION (E-COMMERCE) RULES, 2020, THE GUIDELINES FOR PREVENTION AND REGULATION OF DARK PATTERNS, 2023, OR ANY OTHER LAW, RULE, STANDARD OR GUIDELINE — and no such wrongdoing is alleged or implied against Oomph, Fabula, Bevogue, MAHI, Jazz And Sizzle, Rubans, Zeneme, Salty, Fida, Vivastri, Saraf RS Jewellery, TACORRY, JUST JUNKIES, MEIRA JEWELLERY or any other brand named here. A maximum retail price is a maximum a brand is entitled to set at whatever figure it chooses. Brand comparisons on this page are medians across whatever each site listed, NOT like-for-like model comparisons, and we do not claim that a brand's listings on one site are the same items as its listings on the other. Where this page observes that AJIO publishes no customer ratings, that is a description of what its search data returned on the date stated and is not a criticism of AJIO or a suggestion that anything is concealed. Nothing on this page was bought, unpacked, worn or tested, and no claim is made about any item's plating thickness, metal content, stone type, finish, weight, skin sensitivity or durability; "18K Gold-Plated", "Kundan", "Zirconia", "Oxidised", "Silver-Plated" and "Artificial Stones" are the listings' own printed descriptions, reproduced and not independently verified, and we do not suggest any is inaccurate. Both searches returned studs, hoops, ear cuffs and drop earrings alongside jhumkas and we have flagged that rather than hiding it. What each retailer publishes at the time you buy prevails over anything here.
