📅 Update log:
21 October 2026 — First publication. Read the same day: nykaa.com's own search results for "hair oil" and "hair serum" (30 listings) and myntra.com's /hair-oil and /hair-serum listing pages via a window.__myx parse (64 listings), both logged out, from India, with nothing purchased and neither retailer contacted. Recorded from this read: Nykaa prices from Rs. 203 to Rs. 3,015 with a median of Rs. 372, a median badge of 15% across a 2% to 35% range, no listing badged 50% or more, a median stated MRP of 1.18x the selling price and 29 of 30 listings rated; Myntra prices from Rs. 94 to Rs. 1,926 with a median of Rs. 318, a median badge of 19% across a 0% to 78% range, 10 of 64 badged 50% or more, a median stated MRP of 1.24x the selling price and 61 of 64 rated. Eight products were found on both sites under the same name and the same stated MRP: Brillare 10% Rosemary Hair Oil (MRP Rs. 345, Nykaa Rs. 328 at 5%, Myntra Rs. 224 at 35%); Biolage Smoothproof serum (Rs. 385, Rs. 347 at 10%, Rs. 308 at 20%); Streax Professional Vitariche Gloss (Rs. 530, Rs. 413 at 22%, Rs. 365 at 31%); Proskire Ultimate Hair Growth Oil (Rs. 449, Rs. 395 at 12%, Rs. 379 at 16%); Pilgrim Spanish Rosemary and Biotin oil (Rs. 395, Rs. 336 at 15%, Rs. 328 at 17%); WishCare cold pressed castor oil (Rs. 250, Rs. 220 at 12%, Rs. 213 at 15%); Soulflower Rosemary Lavender (Rs. 300, Rs. 249 at 17%, Rs. 285 at 5%); and Vedix Keshamrut (Rs. 599, Rs. 551 at 8%, Rs. 556 at 7%). Three further brand pairs sharing an MRP were EXCLUDED as different products - Parachute at Rs. 400, Pilgrim at Rs. 225 and Streax at Rs. 330 - and Indulekha Bringha was excluded entirely because Nykaa's listing states no size. Nothing was bought, opened or applied, and no claim is made about what any product does.

The same bottle, the same list price, Rs. 104 apart

We read both retailers' own hair oil and serum listings on 21 October 2026 — 30 from Nykaa and 64 from Myntra, logged out, from India, nothing purchased.

Eight products appear on both sites under the same name and the same stated MRP. That makes them the rare case where a price comparison is actually like-for-like, because the number above the price is identical and only the number you pay moves.

Myntra is cheaper on six of the eight. And the widest gap is the cleanest demonstration on the page: Brillare's 10% Rosemary Hair Oil prints Rs. 345 on both sites, and sells at Rs. 328 on Nykaa and Rs. 224 on Myntra. Thirty badge points, Rs. 104.

Six to Myntra, two to Nykaa. Five of the eight gaps are under Rs. 50, so for most of this list the choice barely matters — but the Brillare and Streax Professional gaps are real money on a sub-Rs. 500 bottle.

Note what the badges do. On every one of the eight, the retailer charging less also displays the bigger percentage, because the strike-through is the same on both. That is a discount badge behaving exactly as it should — which is only possible because the MRP is held constant.

We have not held either bottle. These are matched on brand, product name and stated MRP, and where a size is printed we have checked it; nothing more is claimed.

Three pairs we did NOT count

BrandShared stated MRPNykaa listingMyntra listing
Parachute AdvansedRs. 400Rosemary Enriched Coconut Oil, Rs. 280 (30%)Gold Coconut Hair Oil, Rs. 204 (49%)
PilgrimRs. 225Korean Black Rice & Rosemary Water, Rs. 203 (10%)Spanish Rosemary Water with Biotin, Rs. 198 (12%)
StreaxRs. 330Anti Frizz Hair Serum, Rs. 248 (25%)Frizz Control Hair Serum, Rs. 214 (35%)

These three share a brand and a stated MRP but are plainly different products — a rosemary-enriched coconut oil is not a gold coconut oil, and a rosemary water is not a black rice water. They are shown because the shared MRP is itself interesting, and excluded from the eight because comparing them would be dishonest.

We dropped Indulekha Bringha altogether. Nykaa lists it at Rs. 1,037 with no stated size; Myntra lists 100 ml at Rs. 348 and 50 ml at Rs. 226. Without a size on both sides there is no comparison to make, so we have not made one.

A beauty shelf badges nothing like a clothing shelf

Not one of Nykaa's 30 listings reaches 50% off. Its deepest badge in this read is 35%, its median 15%. Myntra goes further — 10 of its 64 sit at 50% or more, topping out at 78% — but its median is still only 19%.

The reason is the strike-through. The median stated MRP is 1.18 times the selling price on Nykaa and 1.24 times on Myntra. On a clothing shelf those multiples routinely run three to five times, and the badges run in the seventies and eighties as a result.

Neither style is improper and no wrongdoing by anyone is alleged. It does mean that if you have learned to wait for a 70% badge on clothes, you will wait forever on a hair oil — and that a 35% badge here is as good as this shelf gets.

What this page does not tell you

It makes no claim about whether any of these products works. Nothing was bought, opened, applied or tested. "Hair Growth", "Anti Hairfall", "Grey Hair Solution", "Redensyl", "Anti-Frizz" and every other benefit word is the brand's own printed marketing copy, reproduced where we name a product and neither endorsed nor assessed. We make no representation that any product named promotes hair growth, reduces hair fall, reverses greying or produces any other result, and nothing here is health, dermatological or cosmetic advice.

It does not verify ingredients, concentrations or volumes. Where a listing states a size we have used it and said so; where it does not, we have declined to compare rather than guessing. Percentages in product names — "10% Rosemary", "20% Rosemary Oil Shots" — are the brands' own and are not verified.

Nor does it tell you today's price. Every figure was returned on 21 October 2026. Check the live listing, and read the pack before you buy anything you are going to put on your scalp.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Nykaa or Myntra cheaper for hair oil in October 2026?
Myntra, on the products where a direct comparison is possible. We found eight products listed on both sites under the same name and the same stated MRP, and Myntra is cheaper on six of them. The widest gap is the Brillare 10% Rosemary Hair Oil: both sites print a stated MRP of Rs. 345, and it sells at Rs. 328 on Nykaa and Rs. 224 on Myntra. Nykaa wins two — Soulflower's Rosemary Lavender oil by Rs. 36 and Vedix Keshamrut by Rs. 5. Across the whole read the shelves are close: Nykaa's median is Rs. 372 and Myntra's Rs. 318. Check the specific bottle, and check the size on the label.
Why do beauty discounts look so small next to clothing discounts?
Because beauty brands barely mark their list prices up. On this read Nykaa's median badge is 15% and not one of its 30 listings reaches 50% off. Myntra's median is 19%, with 10 of 64 at 50% or more. The reason is in the strike-throughs: the median stated MRP is 1.18 times the selling price on Nykaa and 1.24 times on Myntra. On the fashion shelves these same two retailers run, we routinely read median multiples of three to five times and badges in the seventies and eighties. Neither pattern is improper and no wrongdoing by anyone is alleged — a maximum retail price is a maximum a brand is entitled to set. The practical point is that on a beauty shelf a 35% badge is genuinely at the top of the range, where on a clothing shelf it would be near the bottom.
Both sites show the same MRP on a Brillare oil but different prices. Why?
Because the stated MRP is the brand's list price and the selling price is each retailer's own decision. Brillare's 10% Rosemary Hair Oil prints a stated MRP of Rs. 345 on both Nykaa and Myntra. Nykaa sells it at Rs. 328, which it displays as 5% off. Myntra sells it at Rs. 224, which it displays as 35% off. Same bottle, same list price, Rs. 104 and thirty badge points between the two sites. This is exactly how a shared MRP is supposed to work: the number above the price is the brand's, and the number you pay is the shop's. Nothing here suggests either retailer is doing anything improper — it simply means the badge tells you about the gap and the rupee figure tells you about your wallet.
Are the products you compared definitely the same?
The eight in our main table are matched on brand, product name and an identical stated MRP — but we have not held either bottle, and we say so plainly. We deliberately excluded three further pairs that share a brand and an MRP but are clearly different products: Parachute's Rosemary Enriched and Gold Coconut oils both print Rs. 400, Pilgrim's Korean Black Rice and Spanish Rosemary waters both print Rs. 225, and Streax's Anti Frizz and Frizz Control serums both print Rs. 330. Those are listed separately and are not counted among the eight. We also dropped Indulekha Bringha entirely, because Nykaa lists it at Rs. 1,037 without a stated size while Myntra lists 100 ml at Rs. 348 and 50 ml at Rs. 226 — so no honest comparison is available. Where a size is missing we have said so rather than compared.
Do any of these oils actually work?
We have no idea, and this page makes no claim either way. Nothing here was bought, opened, applied or tested. "Hair Growth", "Anti Hairfall", "Grey Hair Solution", "Redensyl", "Anti-Frizz" and every other benefit word on these listings is the brand's own printed marketing copy, reproduced where we name a product and neither endorsed nor assessed. We make no representation that any product on this page promotes hair growth, reduces hair fall, reverses greying or produces any other result, and nothing here should be read as health, dermatological or cosmetic advice. What this page measures is prices: what each retailer charges, what list price each prints, and where the two differ on an identical bottle. If an ingredient or a claim matters to you, read the pack and, where it concerns your scalp or skin, ask a qualified professional.

Zoutons earns affiliate commission on some links on this page. It costs you nothing and it does not decide what we write. Every price, stated MRP and discount badge above was returned by nykaa.com's and myntra.com's own pages on 21 October 2026, logged out, from India, with nothing purchased; every count, median and multiple was computed mechanically over those 94 rows. A stated MRP is the figure a listing prints. Reporting that two retailers charge different prices for a product carrying one identical stated MRP, or that one retailer's listings print lower multiples over their selling prices than another's, is arithmetic over published figures and a description of what those figures are. It is not a statement that any MRP is false, inflated or non-compliant, that any discount is not genuine, that any product is overpriced or misdescribed, or that FSN E-Commerce Ventures Limited, Nykaa, Myntra Designs Private Limited, any seller on either platform, or Brillare, Biolage, Streax, Streax Professional, Proskire, Pilgrim, WishCare, Soulflower, Vedix, Parachute, Indulekha, Bare Anatomy, Livon, Nat Habit, Mamaearth or any other brand named has engaged in misleading advertising, an unfair trade practice, a dark pattern or any contravention of the Legal Metrology Act, 2009, the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, the Guidelines for Prevention and Regulation of Dark Patterns, 2023, or any other law or guideline. A maximum retail price is set by the brand; the selling price is each retailer's own commercial decision, and two shops charging differently against one shared list price is ordinary competition. Products are matched on brand name, product name and an identical stated MRP only; we have not handled, opened or compared any bottle, and three brand pairs sharing an MRP but differing in product were deliberately excluded and are shown separately, as was Indulekha Bringha, whose listings do not state a comparable size on both sites. NOTHING ON THIS PAGE WAS BOUGHT, OPENED, APPLIED OR TESTED, AND NO CLAIM WHATEVER IS MADE ABOUT WHAT ANY PRODUCT DOES. "Hair Growth", "Anti Hairfall", "Grey Hair Solution", "Redensyl", "Anti-Frizz", ingredient percentages in product names and all other benefit and composition wording are the brands' own printed marketing copy, reproduced where a product is named and neither endorsed, verified nor assessed by us. We make no representation that any product named promotes hair growth, reduces hair fall, prevents or reverses greying, or produces any other cosmetic or therapeutic effect, and nothing on this page is health, medical, dermatological or cosmetic advice. Read the pack, check the ingredient list, and consult a qualified professional about anything you intend to apply to your scalp or skin. Prices move constantly; what each retailer shows at your checkout prevails over anything here.
