CMAT 2020 is an online computer based test to facilitate admissions in more than 500 AICTE approved colleges. CMAT 2020 application process started from 1st November 2019 and the extended last date to fill the application form was December 10.

Since 2018, the exam has been conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). This year the exam will take place on January 28, 2020. CMAT Exam Pattern consists of four sections which tests the student’s skill in the fields of quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, English comprehension and General awareness. The examination consists of 100 questions which needs to be solved in a duration of 3 hours. This year, the examination is scheduled to be held on the 28th of January.

CMAT 2020 Application

CMAT 2020 is one of the entrance exams taken by students along with CAT, MAT, XAT, etc. In comparison to CAT, CMAT is relatively easier. Students start preparing for CMAT in the month of November just when the application starts. The following section discusses CMAT 2020 Application in detail. 

CMAT 2020 Application Documents Required

It is very important for the candidates to have a valid email id, phone number, Debit/Credit card (in case of an online payment) while applying for CMAT 2020 Application. Registered phone number and a valid email id to receive all the exam related information, CMAT 2020 application status, etc. There were a few essential documents required for filling up the CMAT 2020 Application form. These documents are very crucial and should be mandatorily uploaded by the students during filling up the CMAT 2020 application form.

  • Details of Academic Qualification.
  • In case of an offline payment for CMAT 2020, three copies of bank challan is required.

Steps to fill CMAT 2020 Application Form


1. Registration: The first step is to register online at the official website of CMAT 2020. At the time of CMAT 2020 registration, students are required to provide their personal information including phone number and email id. The login credentials will be provided in the registered mobile number or email id.

2.  Fill-in CMAT 2020 Application Form: Students are then required to log in to the official website and fill the online CMAT 2020 Application. They are required to fill their center preferences and details of academic qualifications.

3. Upload Images: The next step is to upload the scanned copy of the photograph and signature of the candidate. 

  1. The size of the photograph should be between 10kb and 200kb. 
  2. The signature should be between 4kb and 30kb. 
  3. Both photograph and signature must be in the JPG/JPEG format. Candidates must keep the specifications in mind while filling up CMAT 2020 Application form.

4. Fee Payment: The next step is the payment of the fees. 

  1. Students can pay the fees through online mode using debit card, credit card or net banking. 
  2. Fees for CMAT 2020 application can also be paid via offline mode using SBI challan generated online.

5. Print Confirmation Page: After the successful payment of the fees, the confirmation page is generated. Students are advised to print the confirmation page.


Points to Remember while filling CMAT 2020 Application Form


  • The Registration Process is completely online and under control of the National Testing Agency.
  • Forms will only be accepted when Application Fees are paid by the candidates, which are non-refundable in nature, even if the candidate decides to not sit for the exam. 
  • Passwords created by the candidate should have at least one upper case, one lower case, one numeral, one special character and should be of at least 8-13 characters.

CMAT 2020 Application Eligibility Criteria

Applicants are required to fulfill the below mentioned eligibility criteria while filling the CMAT 2020 Application form.

  • Applicants must be citizens of India.
  • Age is not a criteria for filling the CMAT 2020 Application and appearing for the exam.
  • The applicant must possess a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • A student belonging to the general category is required to have secured a minimum of 50% in graduation. There is a relaxation of 5% for the students belonging to the SC/ ST category.
  • Students who have appeared for the qualifying degree examination are also eligible to apply.

CMAT 2020 Application Reservation for Person with Disabilities

Those candidates who are dealing with a disability of 40% or more, are eligible for claiming admissions under the PwD reservation category. The disability list for PwD is given below:

  • Low vision and blindness.
  • Deaf/ low hearing capability.
  • Locomotive disability. This includes cerebral palsy, dwarfism, acid attack survivors, and muscular dystrophy, cured of leprosy.
  • Learning and intellectual disability including autism, mental illness.
  • Person with multiple disabilities as listed above.
  • Other ‘specified disabilities’ as listed in the PwD Act 2016.

Candidates are required to select their category before the deadline of CMAT 2020 application submission. Post the deadline, no request for change of category will be entertained.

CMAT 2020 Eligibility for Availing Scribe Facility

Students who are blind, suffering from locomotor disability and cerebral palsy can request for scribe facility for the day of the exam. Such candidates who are appearing for the CMAT 2020 are required to submit an application to the Examination Center Superintendent for availing the facility of scribe. The application must be accompanied with a disability certificate issued by an authorized medical officer. The application must reach the Examination Superintendent by the 21st of January 2020.

  • A person who is at least one year junior to the candidate, will be provided as a scribe/ reader for the candidate.
  • The candidates availing scribe facility are allowed to meet the scribe a day before the examination. This will help the candidate to determine the suitability of the scribe.
  • Candidates who are taking the aid of scribe, are eligible for availing one hour of extra time, beyond the allotted time for the examination.

CMAT 2020 Admit card

The National Testing Agency on 24th December 2019 has released the admit card for CMAT 2020 in its official website. The candidates who have registered and filled CMAT 2020 Application form for the examination are advised to download the admit card by logging in to their account by visiting the official website. The admit card can be downloaded until the morning of January 28th 2020. It is mandatory to carry a printed copy of the downloaded admit card for entry into the examination hall.

How to Download CMAT 2020 Admit Card?

  • Students are first advised to visit the official website of the exam conducting authority-NTA CMAT.
  • Next step is to click on the ‘Download Admit card’ tab available on the official website.
  • Then enter the CMAT id and password when prompted.
  • Then download the admit card and print it.

On the day of release of the admit card, students may find it difficult to download it. This is due to the huge number of traffic on the website. In such instances, they are advised to wait a day or two and try again. If the problem persists, they are required to contact the examination conducting authority. Candidates are required to verify the information furnished in the admit card and notify the discrepancies if any to the examination conducting authority.

  • On the day of examination, students are required to carry the admit card along with a valid photo identity card. They are required to carry two copies of the admit card along- with a photocopy of the photo id.
  • No hard copy of the admit card will be sent to the candidates. Also, the digital copy of the admit card will not be accepted at the examination center.
  • Candidates are advised not to sign the admit card beforehand, as they will be required to sign it in the examination hall in front of the invigilator.
  • Students are advised to report 2 hours prior to the commencement of the examination in order to facilitate the frisking and biometrics.
  • Candidates are required to verify the information furnished in the admit card and notify the discrepancies if any to the examination conducting authority at the helpline desk 0120-3946612 between 9:30 am and 5:30 am or send mail at ntanationaltestingagency@gmail.com.
