A sock listing is a pack, not a pair, and that is where the money hides. So we read AJIO's 34 sock listings on the morning of 28 September 2026 and divided each price by the pack count printed in its own title. Twenty-three of the 34 state one.
The result runs from Rs. 17.80 a pair to Rs. 149.50 a pair. And the discount badge tracks it perfectly in reverse - the 91% listing is the cheapest pair on the shelf and the 9% listing is nearly the dearest. Below: the full per-pair table, the one stated MRP of Rs. 999 that covers four different pack sizes, and why none of this can be checked against customer reviews.

Rs. 17.80 a pair at one end, Rs. 149.50 at the other
Socks are sold in packs, which is exactly how a shelf hides what it charges. So we read AJIO's sock shelf on the morning of 28 September 2026 - 34 listings, logged out, in India, nothing purchased - and divided every price by the pack count the listing itself states. Twenty-three of the 34 state one.
The cheapest pair on the shelf costs Rs. 17.80. The dearest costs Rs. 149.50. That is a factor of 8.4 between two things that are both a pair of ankle socks. The Rs. 17.80 is a USOXO pack of five at Rs. 89; the Rs. 149.50 is a Decathlon Quechua hiking two-pack at Rs. 299.
That range is not surprising in itself - a hiking sock is not an everyday sock. What is worth your attention is that the discount badge predicts the per-pair rate almost perfectly, and it predicts it backwards.

Seven listings share one stated MRP of Rs. 999 — across four pack sizes
Here is the thing on this shelf that does not hold together, and it is checkable from the tiles themselves. A stated MRP of exactly Rs. 999 appears on seven different sock listings - and those seven listings are packs of three, four, five and six.
Put the two most awkward side by side. USOXO's pack of three sells at Rs. 95 against a stated MRP of Rs. 999, showing 90% off. USOXO's pack of six sells at Rs. 136 against the same stated Rs. 999, showing 86% off. Twice as many socks, the same claimed list price, and the bigger pack displays the smaller percentage.
The pattern repeats one tier down: seven further listings share a stated MRP of Rs. 499, covering packs of three and one single-pair listing, and three single-pair listings share a stated MRP of Rs. 473 - an oddly specific number to arrive at independently. What we would actually do
Divide before you buy. It takes five seconds and it is the only calculation on this shelf that means anything. A Rs. 250 four-pack is Rs. 62.50 a pair and a Rs. 89 five-pack is Rs. 17.80 a pair - and the tiles do not sort that way, because the shelf sorts by price or by percentage, neither of which accounts for how many socks are in the bag.
Ignore the percentage when comparing two packs of the same brand. USOXO's own pack of three shows 90% and works out at Rs. 31.70 a pair; its pack of five shows 91% and works out at Rs. 17.80. One point of badge difference, and the real rate is nearly double. The badge is computed from a stated MRP that does not change with pack size, so it cannot tell you which pack is better value.
And decide honestly which half of the shelf you want. At Rs. 18 to Rs. 32 a pair you are buying house-label everyday socks with no published feedback of any kind; at Rs. 80 to Rs. 136 a pair you are buying a named sports or apparel brand with, on this site, also no published feedback.
