Eighty-four hair accessory listings read on 29 September, divided by the pieces in the packet. Sixty-three of them cost under Rs. 300.
Hair accessories are sold in packets, and the packets all cost about the same: 63 of the 84 AJIO listings we read on 29 September 2026 sit under Rs. 300. The thing you actually use is a piece, and 33 of those listings state how many pieces are in the packet. Divided out, the shelf runs from Rs. 5.90 to Rs. 200.00 a piece. The rate is not predicted by the ticket, and it is certainly not predicted by the badge - the cheapest piece here sits on a 20% discount and the dearest on a 60% one.
Every price below was pulled from AJIO on September 29, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our AJIO coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.
AJIO's in-house label accounts for 28 of the 84 hair listings in this read, every single one of them at exactly 20% off, at one of four tickets - Rs. 59, Rs. 63, Rs. 74, Rs. 79. The only number that moves is the piece count.
Ten scrunchies for Rs. 59, from AJIO's own label, on a 20% badge.
Why it earned its spot The floor of the shelf.
The second-cheapest rate here, at the same Rs. 59 ticket as the ten-pack.
Why it earned its spot Same ticket, two fewer pieces.
The same Rs. 59 again, and two and a half times the rate of the ten-pack.
Why it earned its spot The pack-count effect, at one fixed price.
Hair ties rather than scrunchies, at the same fixed Rs. 59.
Why it earned its spot The fourth Rs. 59 tile.
The dearer of the own-label tickets, and still under Rs. 20 a piece.
Why it earned its spot Clips rather than scrunchies.
Half the pieces of the card above at the same price, which doubles the rate.
Why it earned its spot The clearest same-price pair here.
Five listings in this read carry a 90% badge. Each states an MRP between 9.98 and 10.01 times its own selling price. They come from two brands and four of the five are single pieces.
Rs. 255 against a stated Rs. 2,547, on a single metal hair clip.
Why it earned its spot The 10x cluster, card one.
Rs. 316 against Rs. 3,160, which is a round multiple to three decimal places.
Why it earned its spot The 10x cluster, card two.
A different label, the same badge and the same near-exact ten.
Why it earned its spot The 10x cluster, card three.
Not a metal clip: the same pattern on an elasticated scrunchie.
Why it earned its spot The 10x cluster, card four.
The only multi-pack in the 10x cluster, and the third-dearest rate on this page.
Why it earned its spot The 10x cluster, card five.
The 33 listings that state a piece count run at a median Rs. 29.50 each. These six are the packs that beat it, or come close, from brands other than the house label - and their stated MRPs are the most restrained on the shelf.
The cheapest per-piece rate outside the own-label tiles.
Why it earned its spot Best rate from a specialist brand.
A small badge, a plausible MRP and the second-best branded rate here.
Why it earned its spot Small badge, good rate.
A round Rs. 25 a clip, at exactly half of a Rs. 500 stated MRP.
Why it earned its spot Exactly the shelf median badge.
A children's set at a low rate and a small, believable MRP.
Why it earned its spot Non-house-label, and still a 20% badge.
Read this card together with card 18: the same brand lists the same pack twice.
Why it earned its spot Pair one, the cheaper tile.
The largest pack from the shelf's most prolific scrunchie brand.
Why it earned its spot Volume from a satin specialist.
One pack listed twice at Rs. 295 and Rs. 549 behind the same stated MRP, the two worst two-piece rates on the shelf at Rs. 120 and Rs. 200 a piece, and the two dearest single clips in the read.
Identical title, identical count, identical stated MRP, 86% more money.
Why it earned its spot Pair one, the dearer tile.
Two embroidered scrunchies for Rs. 400, on a 60% badge.
Why it earned its spot The ceiling.
The second-dearest rate on the page, at a Rs. 240 ticket.
Why it earned its spot Small ticket, large rate.
A single embellished clip at nearly twenty times the shelf's median ticket.
Why it earned its spot Top of the shelf by price.
The second-dearest single piece, from the same brand as card 21.
Why it earned its spot Where the money actually goes at the top.
First: divide by the piece count in the title. Four tiles here sell at exactly Rs. 59 behind exactly Rs. 74, with three, four, eight or ten pieces inside - Rs. 19.67 a piece against Rs. 5.90 for the same money. Second: distrust the 90% badges specifically. Five listings in this read advertise 90% off, and every one of them states an MRP between 9.98 and 10.01 times its own selling price; the selling prices, Rs. 255 to Rs. 316, are perfectly ordinary for this shelf, so the badge is being produced by the MRP rather than by a low price. Third: avoid two-piece packs. The three seated here work out at Rs. 39.50, Rs. 120 and Rs. 200 a piece against a Rs. 29.50 shelf median, and each looks cheap on the tile because the ticket is small. Fourth: scroll for a twin before buying a branded pack. One brand lists the same six-scrunchie pack at Rs. 295 and at Rs. 549 behind the identical Rs. 950 stated MRP, and there is no rating on either to tell them apart - AJIO published no rating on any of the 124 rows we read.

Each selling price, stated MRP and discount badge on this page was read on 29 September 2026 from ajio.com's own search results for hair accessories, scrunchie and hair clip, server-side, logged out, in India, with keys deduped so no listing is counted twice. 84 hair listings. Nothing was bought.
Every 'per piece' figure divides the live selling price by the number of pieces the listing itself states - 'Set of 10', 'Pack of 6'. 33 of the 84 hair listings state a count and every rate, range and median describes those 33; the other 51 are single pieces or state no count and are excluded from all rate figures. We did not open or count a packet.
Where we say a listing states an MRP 9.99 or 10.01 times its price, that is the stated MRP divided by the selling price as both appeared on the tile. We have not verified that anything was ever sold at a stated MRP, and stating a high MRP is lawful and commonplace across Indian retail - the multiple is reported as a published fact, not as an allegation against any brand or against AJIO.
Cards 16 and 18 are two tiles from one brand whose own titles state the same product and piece count and which display the same stated MRP of Rs. 950 at two different prices. We did not buy either, and we do not assert the goods shipped would be identical - only that the four published fields match and the prices do not.
'Gold-plated', 'pearl', 'stone studded', 'satin', 'stronghold', 'premium' and every other description on these cards is the listing's own printed text, reproduced as printed and not verified, weighed or tested. We did not handle or wear anything, and nothing here says any clip holds, any scrunchie lasts or any plating survives. AJIO publishes no ratings on this category, so there is no customer feedback to report either.
Cheap by the packet and wildly variable by the piece. In this 29 September 2026 read, 63 of 84 listings sold under Rs. 300, with a median ticket of Rs. 250 and a range of Rs. 59 to Rs. 1,180. Divided by the piece counts their titles state, the 33 multi-packs ran Rs. 5.90 to Rs. 200.00 a piece, median Rs. 29.50. The cheapest rates came from AJIO's own in-house label at Rs. 59 for ten scrunchies; the dearest from two-piece embroidered sets at Rs. 400.
Because they are AJIO's own in-house label, which prices differently from the third-party brands on the same shelf. 28 of the 84 listings in this read came from that label and every single one displayed a 20% badge, at one of four tickets: Rs. 59, Rs. 63, Rs. 74 and Rs. 79. The rest of the shelf had a median badge of 59%. The small badge is not a worse deal - those same tiles carry the cheapest per-piece rates on the shelf and the most plausible stated MRPs, typically 1.25 times the selling price against multiples of 3x to 10x elsewhere.
It is real arithmetic over two published numbers, and on this shelf it comes with a striking pattern. All five listings showing a 90% badge stated an MRP between 9.98 and 10.01 times their own selling price - Rs. 2,547 on Rs. 255, Rs. 3,160 on Rs. 316, Rs. 2,685 on Rs. 269, Rs. 2,846 on Rs. 285 and Rs. 3,104 on Rs. 310 - from two brands. We have not verified that any of these clips was ever sold at its stated MRP. Stating a high MRP is lawful and commonplace across Indian retail and we allege no wrongdoing by AJIO or by any brand; the practical response is to judge the Rs. 255 rather than the 90%.
No. Not one of the 124 rows in this read published a star average or a rating count, which matches every other AJIO shelf we have read - socks, belts, caps, towels, umbrellas, men's sandals and jewellery all returned zero published ratings. The practical consequence is that when one brand lists the same six-scrunchie pack at Rs. 295 and Rs. 549, there is no feedback on either tile to help you choose, and price per piece is the only usable signal.
Dramatically, and the clearest case here is within a single brand. One satin specialist sells single scrunchies at Rs. 250 to Rs. 300 and a nine-pack at Rs. 500, which is Rs. 55.56 a piece - about a fifth of its own single-piece rate. On AJIO's in-house label the effect is starker still: four tiles at the identical Rs. 59 hold three, four, eight and ten pieces, so the rate swings from Rs. 19.67 to Rs. 5.90 with no change in what you pay. Two-piece packs are the ones to avoid: Rs. 120 and Rs. 200 a piece in this read.
