D2C Terms and Conditions 2026: Jurisdiction, Arbitration and Disputes

Near the end of most terms of service is a sentence naming the one city where a dispute can be heard. We read eight Indian D2C brands' published terms on 17 October 2026. Four name a forum — Minimalist names Jaipur, Plum Thane, Mamaearth the laws of the state of Delhi, Bombay Shaving Company Delhi and New Delhi in two clauses. Four name none. And one provides for "arbitration in Thane ... by a single arbitrator appointed by us", with "each party ... to bear its own cost". Quoted verbatim. Not legal advice.

Minimalist Privacy Policy 2026: The Sentence After the No-Sale Promise

We read Minimalist's privacy policy first-party on 10 October 2026 and compared it with four other Indian D2C privacy pages the same morning. It contains the clearest no-sale sentence of the five — "We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information" — and, three sentences later, the qualifier: "However, non-personally identifiable information including statistical data may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, research or other uses." Both halves are ordinary; a reader who stops at the first has the paragraph backwards. The document is three templates stitched together, one of them the same cookie boilerplate Beardo runs — but it leaves out Beardo's repealed-UK-law clause and adds the only grievance contact we found with stated working hours. Published text only; not legal advice.

Minimalist Terms of Service 2026: The AI Skincare Advice Waiver

Nobody reads a skincare brand's terms of use, so we read Minimalist's first-party on 8 October 2026. Clause 10 is the one no other brand page in this corpus carries: product recommendations "may be provided by relying on artificial intelligence", you are advised to "consult a dermatologist" first, and "The User also waives all rights to pursue remedies against Minimalist for such product recommendations generated using artificial intelligence." Disputes go to the "sole jurisdiction of the appropriate court(s) in Jaipur". The terms may be "updated ... from time to time without notice". And the liability clause names "loss of MCash due to discontinuation of the loyalty program" alongside acts of God. Published terms only; nothing here is legal or medical advice.

Minimalist Delivery Time 2026: 2-10 Days, Rs. 70 COD Fee, 20,000 Pin Codes

Minimalist's shipping page is short, and three lines in it decide what an order actually costs and when it turns up. "An additional Rs. 70 shipping fee applies for Cash on Delivery orders" - attached to the payment method, with no basket size at which it stops. We read the page first-party on 4 October 2026. The delivery promise is stacked rather than single: dispatch within 48 working hours, then 2 to 10 days with the courier, with metros told to expect the shorter end. The brand serves over 20,000 pin codes and re-checks serviceability after you have paid, refunding prepaid orders within 48 hours if it cancels. Addresses cannot be changed once placed, and a multi-product order may arrive as separate parcels.
