Today, for the timings 11:45 am, we booked 4 tickets at the Cinepolis, Viviana Mall which is in Thane, Maharashtra. The movie we watched was recently released FORD V FERRARI, and trust me, movie was hell awesome. We wanted to watch Jumanji 2, but couldn’t due to shortage of time. I really don’t know is Jumanji 2019 is better than original Jumanji. The rock is awesome.
Bookmyshow gave us movie pass @299 for IMAX movies. We used the movie pass and got Rs. 250 cashback on purchase of the tickets. It was really amazing. Movie was awesome. Looking forward to Jumanji 2019 now.

By Mansi I booked 5 movie tickets via Bookmyshow for 3rd October 2019. The selection of seats and every other thing was done but when I processed to make a payment, it displayed error.
For the first time, I didn’t add any card details and it displayed error. However, the second time when I tried to make the payment, I had entered the OTP and it displayed error. The payment was deducted but the booking was not done.
I contacted the staff the very moment and they said that payment will be refunded back to my account within 48 hours if the ticket is not confirmed. I was relieved at the moment and decided to wait. I received no confirmation regarding the ticket booking.
On 5th October 2019, I checked my account status but the amount was refunded. I waited for the whole day, but I received no notification regarding the same. On 6th October 2019, I contacted Bookmyshow to know the status of my refund. The executive told me that I have to contact my bank because it is their issue and not ours. The executive then disconnected the call!
I contacted the bank and they said that the payment was credited to bookmyshow’s account. However, they sent me an email with all the details. I forwarded the same to Bookmyshow. I received a call on 8th October 2019 from Bookmyshow. The executive said that a refund will be processed within a few days! I am so frustrated that they do not have any sense of responsibility!
I haven’t received the refund of Rs. 1425 from them yet!
By Faiz I didn’t use any movie booking apps because of the extra charges they ask for! But, I have started to use them after the offline booking started to get more expensive than online bookings.
On 2nd October 2019, I went to the nearest cinemas to watch ‘WAR’. So as I stood in the queue to buy tickets, I had to wait a lot because of long queues. The moment it was my chance, I asked for three tickets. The executive on the other side asked me to pay Rs. 1100/-. I was shocked because the tickets cost you Rs. 750/- which includes all other taxes and surcharges.
Upon asking the same, the executive told me that include food passes for Rs. 350/- which is compulsory to purchase. The food pass included medium Coke and popcorn. I denied purchasing the same. So, he told me that I have to purchase it otherwise I can book online.
I didn’t purchase the tickets and chose to book via Bookmyshow. I opened Bookmyshow, choose my seats and processed for payment. The total billed amount was Rs. 780/-. I booked the tickets right away for the next show.
Better if you book online rather than standing in queues to buy tickets!
By mihir Ghai I had booked three movie tickets from Bookmyshow on 15th September 2019. I made the online payment of Rs. 895. After the payment was successful, I received ticket confirmation and e-tickets through email. However, on the app, there was a barcode which can be scanned.
The tickets booked were for the date 23rd September 2019. Due to some urgency, I had to cancel the booking. I opened the app and requested for cancellation. The refund amount was just Rs. 450. They deducted Rs. 445 as cancellation charges. I remember that at the time of booking, I paid extra Rs. 150 as a cancellation fee, which provides me with a 100% refund!
I contacted the customer service regarding the same. The executive on the call told me that no such fee was added to my booking. I remember that the tickets had cost me Rs. 745 and I paid an extra Rs. 150 for cancellation. The executive denied refunding the deducted amount and disconnected the call!

By Achin Lalwani No doubt, Bookmyshow has been the best app to book movies but the extra charges make it more expensive!
I have never faced any issue while booking with them. My experience till now has been the best one. I am satisfied with their services but the only thing that bothers me is the extra surcharges. When you buy a ticket, it costs you Rs. 250 but when you book it online, GST and extra internet handling fees are added.
These two make the ticket expensive. Until now, I haven’t faced any cancellations or issues in ticket confirmation though many of my friends did. As compared to other websites, Bookmyshow charges higher internet handling fees, which is more than the GST.
Booking fees are normal that every other service provider charges, but who charges Rs.90 as internet handling charges when GST paid are just Rs. 11! I would suggest Bookmyshow to at least cut the cost of internet handling charges.
It is convenient to book tickets in advance, but it does affect the user’s pocket!
